First time at an Escape Room, I know, late to the game, but you should have invited me sooner! Went with coworkers for an early holiday gathering. We split into two groups as we had twelve of us. We kind of went in all cocky thinking we got this, and yeah no we didn't. Lol. But it was still fun and glad we did it. We worked as a team to solve the clues, but had to ask for a few hints along the way. They have many choices of rooms here, so would love to go back and try again and think my problems solving skills have improved.

Took my brothers out to test our intellectual mettle at an escape room.. we selected the Jurassic. I thought it was an easy one. I was greatly mistaken!!! But I have nothing negative to say. This was beyond fun!!! And the proctor was best helpful. Just a great hang out idea.

We had Gabriel when we came in Saturday and he was an incredible and super helpful game master. We had such a great time for our friend's birthday celebration!

This place is pretty fun! You reserve online and they're open groups for any individuals to join, so if you have a fairly big group plan ahead of time. We were checked in and had filled out info to receive a complimentary photo at the end of your experience. I was with 3 other friends along with another group of 4 working together in the escape room. We did the Cartman theme escape room, which was pretty fun! We did wish we had more assistance from the clue master that talked you through some things if you needed help since a lot of the clues we found were pretty challenging. But we had a really fun time!

    Family fun!

Very dissatisfied with game. We did not complete clues & they suddenly walked in saying we solved the puzzle.

First, let's start with the positives, because I believe in balance. The facility? Beautiful. Clean, modern, very "we spent all the budget on aesthetics and vibes." Walking in, you feel like you're about to be on a legit game show--lights, setup, energy... I was ready to win money I was never going to receive. And then... the games started. Now listen. I don't expect Jeopardy! level hosting, but I do expect the host to understand the rules of the games they are... hosting. At one point, I genuinely thought we were all part of a social experiment to see how long a group of adults could pretend to understand instructions that absolutely no one understood--including the person explaining them. There were multiple moments where I locked eyes with my friends like: "Are you getting this?" "No." "Is she getting this?" "Also no." Honestly, I was about this close to politely walking over, grabbing the tablet, and saying, "Don't worry, I got it from here--let's all learn together." Because the energy was giving substitute teacher on their first day with no lesson plan. We spent half the time playing the games and the other half trying to decode what the hell we were supposed to be doing. It was like escape room logic... except we weren't trying to escape, we were trying to understand basic instructions. That said, we laughed A LOT--but not always for the reasons they intended. So if you're looking for a night of fun, confusion, teamwork, and questioning your listening comprehension skills... this is your spot. Would I go back? Yes... but next time I'm bringing a whistle, a clipboard, and stepping in as co-host.

The experiences were miles apart (literally & metaphorically) - I only want to do Escape Factor rooms. Escape Factor is well deserved of its 5 stars on Yelp (and 1K+ 5 stars on Google) - the rooms are incredibly high production value + very immersive (really feels like you're in a treehouse for 'Treehouse Raid at Fort Knox' or 70s game show for 'Bonus Fun Time Game Show Challenge'). Additionally, the game masters are truly incredible - they hit just the right balance of allowing you to stew on your own & giving hints in a way that nudges you in the right direction without straight giving an answer & ruining the fun. Shout out to Nick for being very in character as game show host (and game master) this past Saturday night! Highly recommend Escape Factor if you're in the Chicago area (for us, it's worth the trek from downtown!)

I am still marveling at how entertained and into it the kids were from start to finish-their attention span never waned. Seaogh was our game master and he was awesome through and through. Really a great birthday for my son and while escape rooms were not on my 2026 to-do list I'd certainly go back. Thanks Escape Factor!

Each room is as different as you could imagine from the other rooms. Staff was way cool and even helpful at times when we really didn't know what we were looking for. From Fox Valley Mall into Mish Mash, this place is awesome. The art, digital lighting, signage, and aesthetics are so cool. They did an incredible job with designing it. Mish Mash feels like a liminal space sometimes. I have to dock 3 stars for the complexity of the games, the speed of the games, and the setup of the games. 1 Star Docked for the Setup. The rooms each have a card scanner with a code you enter. That's easy enough. But some rooms require you to push buttons to select teams. Each room handles this differently. It was confusing. Stuff like this needs to be decided outside the room. By the time you go inside the room, you should be playing the game. I don't want to spend an additional 1-3 minutes learning how the setup works. 1 Star Docked for the Complexity of the Games. This makes me sad because the rooms look amazing. The soccer game's fence is too low, so balls ricochet easily. The ropes rooms are too intense for bigger adults, and quite frankly, a liability. The sewer room is a cool concept but way too difficult to climb for adults. The cathedral room we solved, but the game penalized us for not pushing the buttons at the end. We didn't know and the staff didn't give us the points. The biblioteca and crime wall room's tablets froze and we couldn't finish the games. The room with the white cables and colors doesn't give you enough instructions. In fact, please don't give us riddles. Just tell us what to do. I don't want to be even more confused than I already am. Please just forgo the riddles entirely. 1 Star Docked for the Speed of the games. From entering a room to start, the games take forever. 3 minute countdown becomes a 10 second countdown, which then becomes a 10-15 second riddle, which then becomes the room turning on. It's a lot of time docked for just waiting. I was getting impatient. New rooms made me nervous. I'm sad. This place looked so cool. The rooms are beautiful, but disappointing. If I could change mish mash, I would instead do a museum style approach, where the tablets are removed, the magnet doors are removed. And players are instead given an app or a tablet, and each room can be freely entered and played with. And maybe have players solve a mystery and learn to communicate with each other and perhaps with others. And maybe each room has a sort of solution or goal that works towards a greater goal? Or doing a set number of instructions will flash a code that can be used in a phone or tablet to open up more clues or something. That way the whole exiting and re-entering can be alleviated. Either that or take a road trip to activate games down the street and create games that are a little simpler in design. Mish Mash is a good concept but it needs more time to cook. Thank you for the experience, but until they fix things, I wouldn't recommend coming back.
