OMG! This place is amazing! It's an hour drive for me but my nephews are up that way. I took them we had a blast! Staff was so friendly, so helpful! It is cool. VR - the boys had fun Rock climbing wall was amazing (my old butt- did it) Ropes were fun with the boys. Go karts were nice. They let us go without anyone else - they just thought that was amazing. Only thing was disappointing- I wanted to play bumper cars they were down. Looking forward to going back

Icee spill in line at check-in that sat for at least 30 mins.

Ok first the good points because that list is shorter... There are plenty of attractions to keep the kids occupied for hours. Get the unlimited band (use Groupon for a great discount) because the kids can get on every attraction as many times as it takes to wear themselves out. Go-cart bumper cars, zip line / ropes course, laser tag, VR, and miniature golf were a hit! The laser maze was very disappointing with only 2 lasers. The seasonal haunted maze was also very uneventful despite the warning posted outside. The unlimited band also comes with 20 credits for the arcade games that will get you 3 - 4 games unless you buy more credits (this can get very pricey). Now for the bad points... the staff were all young teenagers so most of them were on their phones, or too busy socializing to be bothered with assisting anyone in need. They advertise a full bar, but we were told they lost their liquor license so no beer or anything. The bathrooms were nasty disgusting. There was an icee spill in the front lobby at the check-in line and after 10 mins, I advised the young girl behind the counter so she could call someone to clean up. When the other young girl arrived, she looked at the spill and said she wasn't cleaning it up. It sat there for at least another 20 mins while I was there even though 3 other young workers walked over it and joked about who was going to clean it up. The food at the café was substandard and when we needed help, the workers didn't have a clue. I asked a question, one worker said yes, the one next to her said no, and the other poor kid admitted that he just didn't know. I asked for a manager who they called on a walkie. They never showed up. Even after asking twice. We needed help with one of the arcade games so I asked for help. Again nobody showed up. When trying to cash in our points, we ended up leaving empty handed because they were out of toys 500 points and under. And again... no help in this area either. Bottom line... great fun for the kids, just eat before you go and don't expect good customer service or clean facilities.

    Loaded nachos

First when you walk in it's cold. We went to order food the lady couldn't even tell me what came on the fry platter. We order the loaded nachos and it looks like my dogs dinner. It's okay for the kids to do the attraction the games not really worth it . Food is horrible to we order pizza and it wasn't cooked all the way

Came here on a Saturday morning right when they opened because my niece and nephews were in town. Let me just say that I was amazed when I walked in, I could only imagine how the kids feel coming into Astro Fun World. We all got the $19 special for unlimited play. Luckily we got there right when they opened because the lines got super long after a while. Since the go karts are always fun, we got in line right when we got in. Waited about 10 minutes for it to be our turn. We had a little trouble with the karts (maybe they were not charged), so we had to sit in the karts for a bit while the workers tried to fix the system. It definitely looked bigger when looking at the track than driving it, but I'm sure the kids still loved it. They had cool RV games, rocking climbing area, mini golf, the obstacle rope course above and laser tag. All these activities were children and adult friendly which was pretty cool. I would say, the best activities were the laser tag and the RV games. Definitely come early if you want to be able to play everything before it gets crowded.

We had so much fun! We went when it wasn't extremely crowded so we were able to play the games without a long wait.

Rude teenage staff and long lines for attractions. Prizes and arcade games are also very expensive. Attractions are still fun.

ONCE UPON A TIME.......IN LOMBARD…read more This beloved indoor entertainment center is still hanging in there after 40+ years. I'll admit, I didn't have "attend a work outing at Enchanted Castle" on my 2025 bingo card, yet here we are. I found myself reminiscing about birthdays from the past, how many tokens I spent here as a preteen, and what on earth I was doing at a kids entertainment center with a group of engineers. As they've been since 1983, Enchanted Castle on Roosevelt Rd in Lombard is a one-stop shop for fun.  They have party rooms, a large arcade with ticket counter and 7-8 different attractions.  It's like a bigger version of Chuck E Cheese with a medieval theme, a Dave & Busters aimed at kiddos. You can pay for things a la carte, or get a $40 "max pack" that gets you a $15 game card and access to any 3 attractions.  Our large group hit up the arcade, mini golf, laser tag, and go karts.  One staffer helped us out during our time here, and kudos to her for being patient when we couldn't make up our minds on what to do next. I'll start with the best: the go karts ($9/pp).  Although the track itself is small and not terribly exciting, these go karts were peppy and handled well.  You get a decent number of laps, too, and it must be popular enough to warrant having its own dedicated entrance off to the right - Castle Karts. Next came laser tag ($9/pp).  The packs seemed heavy, but the guns were very accurate IMO.  It was a 'capture the flag' objective and despite a small arena, there was just enough space to move around.  They also have Route 66 mini bowling ($5/pp), bumper cars ($5/pp), a scaled down 'Scrambler' type ride ($5/pp), and a playground area with slides ($5/kid). The glow in the dark Black Knight's "Adventure" Golf ($7/pp) was the weak link of the bunch.  9 holes of poorly lit, uninspired putt putt with odd scenery choices - they couldn't decide between skeletons or squires - and lazy hole design led to several in our group bailing partway through.  One girl even twisted her ankle walking around an obstacle!  This is an area that could definitely benefit from a facelift or new attraction. Back in the 90's and early 2000's, Enchanted Castle had a 3D motion theater that played several iWerks films like Dino Island, Alpha One Cowboy, and Red Rock Run.  This wild motion simulator was always the highlight of my visit, but I can't find ANY record of it in web archives..... was this a fever dream?? Their arcade has a mix of new and old, lots of ticket redemption games with flashy shoot-em-ups sprinkled in.  They had Beat Saber VR (for a whopping 24 credits) as well as some vintage games like the one where you use an air cannon to shoot out the clown's teeth.  Many years ago, they had a dedicated area for pinball machines....now they have none.  *sigh* I expected very little from the food and was pleasantly surprised.  The italian beef ($12) was pretty good, no complaints about the fries.  The large appetizer platter ($40) had a little bit of everything: 7 mozza stix, 7 wings, 7 tenders, 12 mini tacos, and 8 pretzel sticks with dipping sauces.  They also had beer on tap @ $6.50 per pint, not too bad. * TL;DR * Enchanted Castle is supposed to be for young'ins, but if you have fun here as a grown-up I won't tell anyone. Being in business for 43 years is no small feat, especially when you consider the sweeping effect COVID had on the realm of indoor entertainment.  I'm amazed (and relieved) that Enchanted Castle's drawbridge has stayed open despite so much volatility in the world.  I don't imagine that the handful of folks we saw on a Thursday afternoon is representative of how much foot traffic EC actually gets. Here's to hoping they have many more years ahead of them, making joyful memories for scores of kids in the western Chicago suburbs.  I'd hate to see an indelible part of my childhood be gone for good. "The handsome prince raced his mighty steed around the go kart track, while the beautiful princess enjoyed several games of Skee-Ball.  And they played happily ever after!"

I am now entering hour THREE of this experience. We prepaid for three races and arcade cards for nine teenage girls. These are not ordinary teenage girls. These are high-school wrestlers. They are feral. They are starving. They are stronger than me. I fear for my safety. I've had two beers over the course of three hours because I'm driving the girls home and trying to be a responsible adult. If this were not the case, I would currently be on beer number THIRTY and possibly asleep under a picnic table. The races? Absolute chaos. The third race has been such a disaster that: * We asked for a refund * The birthday girl's dad MISSED THE RACE ENTIRELY * There are WAY too many carts on the track * It's basically bumper cars without consent * Accidents every 6 seconds * Zero flow * Zero explanation * Maximum confusion At one point I genuinely wondered if this was an experimental stress test sponsored by NASA or the Department of Defense. The girls are now circling the track like gladiators while I sit here hungry, exhausted, and emotionally broken, wondering how a simple birthday party turned into a Lord of the Flies karting edition. Look--I'm not asking for perfection. I'm asking for: * A schedule that makes sense * Races that actually happen * A track that isn't a demolition derby * And maybe a snack so I don't get jumped by nine wrestlers in Crocs This place had potential. But today? Today was a full-blown shit show. One star. Would not recommend for: * Birthday parties * Groups * Parents * Or anyone who values time, sanity, or cartilage.
