The Management here told us to come at the wrong time, made us wait. 45 minutes and refused to start the game early despite their poor communication, then the game broke and we were unable to finish. They sent the 7 to 9-year-olds in a different very scary game with skeletons and half of them left from fear halfway through. This could not have been a worse experience. They did such a horrible job. I cannot believe I wasted my money at this place. My kid did not enjoy his birthday that I paid $450 for. Avoid this place! read more

We booked the expert level Mansion Murder at this location, and it costs about $40 per person. It's an interesting journey to solve puzzles and explore three different rooms. We ended up uncovering these secrets in less than one hour time frame and with minimum hints. Our group did well to escape the room in 55 minutes considering the general pass rate was like 27% or so. It's cool to revel the secrets of distant family secrets, decorate words games and solve math problems, and gather enough evidence and piece the story together to prove our innocence. Excellent drinks and I like that you are able to bring your drinks into the escape room as well! Truly one of the coolest escape rooms I've been to! I'm a regular at Woods Boss Brewery next door and was always curious about Escapology. My friend and I finally made reservations for a room here. We coordinated hanging out at the restaurant for lunch right before, which had an impressively robust menu of food and beverages. No requirement to do an escape room to partake in the Solutions Lounge. Originally I booked Budapest Express, then realized someone in our party had already done it. Thankfully the coordinator allowed us to change last minute to The C0d3 AND there was availability. Crisis averted! There were puzzles and board games to keep us occupied until our scheduled appointment time. The room itself was cleverly designed, and we appreciated all the astute clues from our game master. It was about $40 per person just for the escape room, which I thought was pricey, but it felt like a luxe experience over others we've been to. Great that there's SO many Escapology locations across the WORLD! Would love to travel and do an escape-cation - but first I'll have to tackle all the ones in Colorado. This was easily the best executed escape room I've ever done, even though we failed miserably. Pro tip: don't let your sister sign you up for expert unless you are Alan Turing. The first thing that I was impressed with walking into Escapology is that it's a legitimately established place rather than an escape room, and an old dentist office or an unused building . They have a great front of house that's an enjoyable place to sit and have drinks while you wait or just to come for fun. Before you enter your escape room, you can order drinks at the bar and take them in with you. We did the Narcos escape room, which was extremely difficult, but very well done in terms of different types of puzzles we had to solve as well as the props and decor used to go with the theme . The person giving us hints was extremely helpful and took pity on us quite frequently when we were clearly never going to move forward in the plot. So appreciated. We got to keep our personal belongings in the room with us which was nice because I've been at other escape rooms where you leave them out of the room and are curious if anyone can get to them. One less thing to think about while you were trying to solve puzzles! If you are in the Denver area and looking for a challenge, I recommend coming here on a date with friends that you hopefully will continue being friends with afterwards! It's make or break in there. I would just urge you to try one of the lower levels before heading straight for expert. read more

Super friendly staff. We had the afternoon in the area before flying back home and figured we'd check to see if they had any rooms we could have our 5 year old tag along in. They recommended one available within the hour. We've done escape rooms in multiple states now and this is the first time we've ever seen one with an actual lounge attached. You can order a drink while you wait for your game to begin and even bring it in the game with you. Afterwards we decided to hang out for a bit and enjoy their retro Nintendo game corner and order some snacks. They also have several board games available. I've been twice. The first time was wonderful and I couldn't wait to go again. This last time was truly awful. There were 11 kids running around screaming (I'm not exaggerating), fighting each other with fake swords and running into other patron's. The 5 adults that accompanied the kids were sitting in the back room watching tv and the staff said nothing. My husband and I went early so we could sit at the bar and have a drink before our room was ready. We waited 25 minutes until someone finally appeared behind the bar and offered a can of beer or soda. Noone there could make a mixed drink or even pour from the tap. By this time our room was ready. We were stuck at the very end and when the staff member came in she had no idea how to get out of the room. We tried asking a couple of questions and all she could say was, "I'm sorry, I'm not sure how it works." We left very disappointed. read more

The staff were very helpful, nice and fun. The room we did was the shoot out at ok corral, it was really fun. Lots of math to it, which we liked. The rooms are spacious, clean and cool in temp. We will for sure go back. Not sure if we will take the train down again though. We got off at 18th & California, had ti walk up to 22nd and didn't realize there were tents all along that walk set up by the homeless. We didn't get bothered but it was a bit sketchy. As far as escape rooms go, Escapology does an amazing job. I have completed four of their rooms (ranging from novice to moderate) and during each puzzle, we have escaped (sometimes barely). Overall the rooms are appointed very well with lots of detail. The staff is always available to help out (when needed). Now one of my favorite parts of Escapology is the fact that they have a full bar and menu (and the food is outstanding). Should you have kids with you --- some of the mocktails are fun too. TIP: I have used this location for team building and it was a huge success. read more

While our friend group had an enjoyable time at this escape room, we felt a couple things were off. Firstly, our game guide gave us clues quickly without us asking for them, which took away the guesswork and joy of figuring out the puzzles. Plus it was the hardest room (drug themed room) so I'd expect clues to be given when we ask for them, not just handed out without warning. Secondly, some of the puzzles felt less logical/cerebral and more of just trying a bunch of different possible codes until it worked, which is less fun than solving a puzzle. Sometimes puzzles were too simple, and other times they were so far-reaching in logic that it felt cheap once revealed to us. The room decor wasn't particularly memorable and immersive, and it felt cramped & claustrophobic with our group of 6, especially towards the final rooms. The story was interesting enough but the ending was also anti-climactic. Our game guides were nice people but didn't play up the story too much and felt like they were doing the minimum effort required instead of helping immerse us and make us feel at home in the escape room. Even so, our friend group had a good amount of fun because we enjoy doing escape rooms and get along well. But as the room and experience goes, and comparing it to competitors and experiences with other escape room companies, the quality certainly did not earn the price of $42 per person, and we were given too many clues on a silver platter without asking for them to make the escape room even feel hard, nor exciting. read more

I have done 2 escape rooms here now and I absolutely love this place. The rooms are pretty detailed. I have done one prior to these two at another company and that one was boring and small. This place first of all is also a bar and restaurant. I haven't eaten here yet, but I have had a few cocktails. They have unique cocktail options and a great bar staff. You can take your cocktails in to the rooms with you as well. The rooms are so much fun. I love the themes of each of the rooms. This time, we ranked 72nd for the Antidote room finishing in 31 minutes. It was so much fun. Everyone had a great time. We are definitely coming back to try our hand at more rooms. read more

I enjoyed my time at Escapology so much that as a yelp Elite, I forgot to check in. If that says it all XD. This was my first time doing escape room and Escapology definitely got me hooked. Their bar had great selection of drinks and the foods were absolutely delicious. Staffs were nice and interactive. They did a great job explaining the rules. We were assigned an intermediate level room. I liked how there were a great variety of puzzles. To solve certain combination you really have to think outside the box. You are given three free cues too in case things get hard. I think a group of 4-6 people will be optimal. The price is $30 for weekdays and $34 for weekend. Street parking only and it can get pretty difficult. I will be more than happy to come back here again with my friends. read more

I really enjoyed going to Escapology for a 2020 YES! event. The food they served was soooo delish (especially the desserts which were like crepe balls filled with cannoli fillIng and creme puffs - what can I say tho dessert is my favorite meal of the day!) I had some sparkling wine to go with my food which is always great, and then of course the most important part of the event-the room! They have a ton of rooms each with different themes - mine was themed around a bank heist / hacker situation where you had to find the kill code in an hour!!! I won't give anything away but I will say the puzzles were very creative and unique, and my whole group had a lot of fun. I was honored to be a guest for our first Yelp event of the year and was highly impressed and will definitely be back. Although my team wasn't able to escape, we were informed that the room that we were assigned to was the most difficult and only 15% ever actually make it out. We didn't feel so defeated after hearing that! The staff is friendly with a full bar and several craft beers choose from. They take pride in serving CO brand adult beverages which is refreshing when supporting local businesses. I was expecting bar food versus gourmet apps that were extremely flavorful. There are several escape rooms and when great minds do (or sometimes don't haha) think alike it can be challenging but a fun way to test patience and 'think on your feet' skills. This is a beautiful facility with friendly, helpful staff. I was a little nervous about literally being locked in a small space and not being able to get out, but one of first things they explain is that the door is not locked and one can easily leave to use the restroom, get some air, etc. This immediately eased my mind and helped me to have a more fun experience. However, maybe it's just me and the way my social sciences-oriented brain works, but I felt like you needed to have a math or physics degree to be successful at solving the room. I came with coworkers and even with having five educated people, with different backgrounds and ways of thinking, we couldn't get through the room in an hour. The escape room we did was antidote with 4 people and it's one of the easier escape rooms here. I think it's great start for noobs. I thought the clues and plot were well done and creative. We were able to succeed with 15 minutes remaining! The game masters helped with clues when needed. I did not know what to expect when coming here. My company set up a team-building event that ended up being a lot of fun. My team did the Antidote room, which I guess is one of the easier ones there. It was a lot of fun though. I love puzzles and ended up really enjoying myself. As other reviewers have said, they don't actually lock the door. So if you're worried about that, you can step out to use the restroom or get some air at any point. Afterwards we had lunch there. I had the beet salad and a glass of pinot noir. Both were delicious. Everyone at my table enjoyed the meals they had. My only issue is the location. There is currently a homeless tent city across the street and walking from the parking lot nearby to the front door (and back) made me quite nervous. read more

We booked my husband's birthday party here for his 40th and had a wonderful night. It was a great place to celebrate and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others. First the highlights: the atmosphere is absolutely delightful in its whimsical, steampunk glory. It is far and away the nicest escape room facility I've been to in Denver. The building and the restaurant decor is attractive in a unisex-loft-type-of-way and invites people to relax, have a drink and stay awhile. After our game, we celebrated at the restaurant, Solutions. The food was incredible. Whenever I visit a business with a side of food, I'm skeptical, but I have never been happier to be wrong. In our party of nine, every single person loved their meal. The cheese curds are hands down the best cheese curds I've ever had, and the raspberry jam added a delicious surprise. My French dip was also perfection. The staff member that helped us (Andrew) was kind, professional and energetic. He did a great job explaining and answering my husband's many questions. I wish I could say it was a perfect evening, and it almost was, except for one problem. We had two separate parties in two different rooms: one in The Code, and the other in Antidote. Our experience in The Code was perfect and super fun (we escaped!), but I wish we could say the same for our friends. Their room, unfortunately, had a lock left open from the group before and that lock being open threw off their entire game. When they asked for a clue one was given to help get that lock open, but since it was already open they spent about 20 minutes searching for the answer to that clue, and believed that that mistake in the set-up truly affected the outcome of their game. So that was disappointing for them. The other thing I would maybe suggest for Escapology is that they have a way for parties to book online together when they are in a private group and paying seperately. We did not have the money to book an entire room at once, and so our friends had to do it (slowly, apparently) one by one, and it put us in a gambling position, where we lost our desired room because some strangers booked in it after my husband had. I can't help but think there must be an easier way to do this, as I found the booking process very stressful, waiting for friends to book and hoping strangers wouldn't. And while the owner was helpful, I couldn't help but feel like some empathy instead of annoyance would have gone a long way. Still, even with these things, we had a wonderful experience and can't wait to go back - that's how great a place this is. And don't skip the restaurant! read more
