This is a low to middle income joint, so it's not like a lot of us have a lot of choice on where to take our children, but if you can, avoid this place at all costs. They're already in trouble with the daycare licencing board (you can search the SD Tribune for the neglect that's going on there) and they're still just as negligent, despite continually claiming that they're "improving." My child has been bit more times than I can count. At one point, they said she had at 1:00 (one person said the morning) she had a fever and, in their words, "a scarily fast heartbeat," but they didn't call me until 2:30. They didn't think a child with a pre-existing condition (asthma) experiencing tachycardia and a fever was an urgent matter, apparently. She's come home with scratches all over her face. Her incident report said they were noticed when they were on the way back to the classroom and that she was observed playing with branches earlier. When I asked the next day why they would let her play with branches without watching her (she was 18-months-old) they changed their story to she ran into child-sized bushes and they saw it happened. It's horrible. This place is horrible. I wish I had the money to take her to a better place, a safer place. But I don't. And even though these guys are on probation, even though they continue to get citations, it's not likely they'll close down. So what will we have? Just kids that continue to get hurt. What's it going to take, ECCDC? What's it going to take for you to change and care? Clearly nothing. EDIT: The morning after I wrote this, they terminated her without warning. I was late to drop her off (9:30) and said that although she had breakfast, she'd probably be hungry. They told me that breakfast was from 9-9:30, so I had to go down to the kitchen, which was fine. And then the director Jim stopped me while we were waiting for food. He told me that he was "disturbed" by my post (meaning Yelp review) last night and so he was in the process of terminating Athena's contract. I said that I just felt like I wrote the truth and that they were negligent and changed their stories in many instances where my daughter got injured. He then told me I was negligent because I left her there - uh, ok. And then he changed the story that it was because they couldn't meet meet my daughter's needs or my expectations (of her having any supervision at all?). He also says that this happens at EVERY daycare, which I know to be not true since I'm not the only mom I know. And then he told me that they were on probation because of "people like you" who continue to report incidents to licensing. He also said I was "hiding behind social media" despite my many face-to-face meetings with teachers, him, and other staff to solve the problem of my child getting beat up by other kids and coming home with unreported bites and scratches. So, we'll no longer be going there because I wrote a negative yelp review telling the truth about their absolute lack of supervision and poor decision making. Time to find a better daycare, because I know they're out there. Julie (front desk), Robert (front desk), Sam (supervisor), and teacher Nikki are the highlights of this place. May they find better places to work. I appreciate their kindness towards me and Athena. They did their best with a daycare organization with many, many problems. To the anonymous poster, "Germaine," there weren't children on the playground at the time. Yes, I did say "bullshit" and I was upset. I'm sure you would be, too, if your child who had been neglected and beat up at daycare and was terminated suddenly because of a yelp review on a day you had to work. I have no Idea what all you people are talking about!!!!...It really disappoints me that there is so many negative comments about this school!!...My son has been going here since he was a yr and a half and he's done nothing but progress!!.. He is 5 now!!..Always ready to go to school!!My son knows his ABCs, how to write his name and knows all his shapes and colors !..Completly ready for kindergarten! Teachers are constantly doing projects and most of all my son loves every single one!!!.. Patty in the office is amazing and stays on top of all your paper work.. so you never have anything to worry about!...Love her!.. My daughter goes to the boyce site andshereally love it it's not the most fancyplace but is clean teachersand staff is really friendly and kids learn while they play. My only issue is the. My daughter doesnt want to go home went i pick her up lol read more

This daycare is horrible! My child didn't learn anything there beside that he got really bad behaviors like kicking pushing etc!! It's bad! The teachers are unhappy and will never tell you anything good about ur child! Don't ever trust ur kid there!!! read more

HORRIBLE!!!! DONT TAKE UR KIDS HERE...bad school in general... very UNPROFESSONAL!Barely moved to esco the beginning of this yr & brough my chiild here..one day one of the kids ran out and they did not notice until about ten minutes later i was barely parking when i saw the poor child! not sure if they reported that or not.but this site has had several violations in the past months, have ALL the parents been notified?!! I did not get anything when my child was there...The main officeon 9th appears to have a HOSTILE environment, u sence the tension right when u enter. The receptionists and other workers are so rude and believe they are better especially the ones registering the children from QS or QA, they dont even know what they are doing, LACK of EDUCATION is noticed. Picking up my child, i noticed that they are ALWAYS UNDER-staffed!! WTH, there has to be a RATIO adult-kid, NO structure, NO cirriculum being followed...who is FUNDING them I ask?!!! they should get audited, everything is falling apart, and using toys & cotts that are SUPER OLD!!! Some of the staff cant be understood, bad accents(Marcela). RUDE supervisor(Lisa)..When i wanted n asked to talk to the head person to complain, it was like chickens running with there heads cut off!! NO ONE KNOWS whos in charge or who should deal with certain problems I kept being REDIRECTED!!! who does tht!! they have NOTHING UNDER CONTROL!!after a few months i decided to remove my child, he did not learn anything!! and somehow they were ALWAYS LOOSING my PAPERWORK!!! i had kept being asked to sign papers i had signed already or INCIDENT reports, and they LOST MY childs INHALER!!!! Want to say great job to this day care for being a great influence to my nephew he has learned so much it's unbelievable how fast he's learned. My son attends the clothier sight on valley pkwy, he's been going there for a little over a year. He has learned so much, he knows his ABC's, numbers, a variety of songs, and a ton of new words. They helped potty train him as well, which is totally awesome!! The teachers and teachers aides are great very kind and generous. Management and receptionists are great too, never had a problem! My son loves going here! I am very pleased with the services here! I highly recommend this daycare/preschool!!! read more

I worked here for almost 5 years and I used love it! Untill my last year of working there. They never had enough staff we were out of ratio a lot of times which mean not enough and proper supervision for the children and that is never good. Unproper supervision leads to children getting hurt, children fighting with each other, and chidren possibly walking into a classroom without staff being in there with them. Too many times incidents happend due to unproper supervision and that was due to not enough staff. Which is the company's fault for being cheap asses and not wanting to hire more staff. Do not bring your child here unless you want your child to be unproperly supervised. read more

The teachers are very patient with the children. Sometimes it can be challenging working with children, but I see that this place treats children well. The teachers help the children understand each other. They organize fun activities with the children and are involved with them. The teachers help children discover their abilities and virtues. I notice my daughter developing academic skills. The kids learn how to be friendly and sympathetic to their peers. In my case, my daughter really loves her teachers because they have treated her well. My daughter enjoys her nap time here too. She also enjoys her lunch time with her friends. She always tells me what she eats. This center is a compliment to the discipline I have at home. For example, at school, the teachers make children responsible for picking up their toys. I do this at home too. In my case, I don't speak English well, so what my daughter has learned here at school, she is able to teach me at home. This center has helped me have and maintain my job because the hours they offer enable me to go, work and return to pick her up. This place is a safe place for my daughter and I, in comparison, if a person took care of her in their home, I wouldn't feel as comfortable. The teachers know how to communicate with the parents in a respectful manner when children have incidents. This is nice for the parents. The teachers work on helping children learn from their mistakes in a positive and respectful way. read more

I have 2 children at the clothier center one in the infants room and the other in the toddler room. I LOVE this program and the care that they provide for my children. The staff is freindly kind smart and I can see how they enjoy what they do. I dont understand most of these negative comments. I am sure that there are 2 sides to each story and I can not belive most of these negative reviews .All i can say is i have been with eccds for 4 years now i have not had any problems with anyone or anything ...the staff is very good at communicating information with me especially for up coming events. Or if they need any thing for my file. All i can say is dont let all of these negative reviews miss guide you every childcare center has its goods and its bads but it also has to do with the parents.So give it a shot for your self stop by ask questions tour the site meet the staff and then decide. Worst place to take your child. When I first brought my two year old here I was in school and desperate for help with child care so my only option was to apply for low income day care. They're location on citrus was great clean environment teachers were awesome, then I had to transfer my child to the clothier location and that's when my son started to have an incident report every single day and I heard nothing else but negative behaviors of biting ext ,at home my son did fine I did not have those behaviors at home, had many conversations with the teachers about what we could do to help the behavior ,they said they would continue to work with him then I started to get a call to my job every day that they needed him to get picked up early because of his "behavior" I would ask what had happened nobody seemed to have answers for it they continued to say "Bad behavior" as a single mom living on my own new grad and recently employed I could not be getting off work early to pick up my two year old son for "bad behavior" one morning I went to drop him off on my way to work and the teacher said he was "excluded for the day" so he could not attend for the day due to not picking him up the four days prior when they called. They did not give me a call the day before ,they did not send a letter home the day before, so I had no time to find back up child care to go to work that day. By far the most unprofessional place to deal with. The teachers are not properly trained to work with the children in my point of view if they shadowed the kids who bite then it should be able to be prevented but even then I find it strange my son never bites at home. I heard it from many parents to avoid this place ,but now I am sure that it is not well maintained. On top of all of this I've had to sign over ten citations from licensing in the one year my son attended. As well as an incident report from a teacher for scratches on my sons back that are reportedly from one of the teachers trying to pick him up. Clearly the teacher that was never named to me had long acrylic nails on which shouldn't be allowed while working with children. I am gladly moving my son out of this program. I personally know people who have worked here and there is no background check for their employees no drug tests and no requirements with prior child development experience. read more
