SPARK Social SF is one of those places we end up at again and again, usually without overplanning…read moreit. It just works. Open air, a mix of food trucks, people hanging out, dogs everywhere, and that easy San Francisco energy where you can show up however you are and it fits. It never feels like a production, just a good place to land. We have eaten our way through a decent chunk of the trucks at this point, and that is half the fun. One day it is something messy and indulgent, the next it is lighter, but it always hits. Grabbing a drink, finding a spot at the picnic tables, and slowly settling in as the place fills up is kind of the rhythm. It is social without being overwhelming, lively without being chaotic. What keeps us coming back is how consistent it feels in the best way. It is easy, flexible, and always a good time whether you stay for an hour or lose an entire afternoon there. It is the kind of spot that turns into a routine before you even realize it, and honestly, we are not mad about it.

Spark Social is a great place to host an event. Big ones (company-sponsored), small ones (a group…read moreof friends huddling at a table), really any of them, because they have a couple different set ups that are open for reservations, but they can also accommodate walk-ins with the abundance of seating. Beyond that, the food and drinks are all food truck based. They are all quite good, and there's a wide variety of items. This also means a good variety for folks with different dietary needs, because they are mostly picking their own food. I have always enjoyed my time here, whether it's on company dime or if I'm just hanging out with friends. I do wish that there are more heaters around for the colder days but that's just life in the bay! It can be kind of cold and foggy all seasons here, so if you have a solid group of folks I'd recommend reserving a spot with a fire pit. One more note: parking can be tough. You either have to circle around for street parking, or rideshare here.

My favorite would probably be the burger. Came with a fried egg mushrooms which I don't like but ate and bacon. It's usually a one-woman show so make sure you have some patience but the wait is definitely worth it. Don't forget the Boss sauce!!!

From the time I walked up, Miss Jamea was so warm & friendly, asking if it was my first time (it…read morewas, and I was so excited!) - 10/10 hospitality I ordered the fried chicken combo (chicken, fries, & soda) and the fried hibachi noodles with steak & shrimp. I knew it was gonna be fire when I smelled it being cooked, but when Jamea said try this before you go, it was confirmed. You don't ask people to try your food in front of you if it ain't fire lol. 10/10 flavor wise on both plates. Noodle portions are large enough to share but you're going to want to eat the wings alone; they're so good you won't want to share, so get plenty. All orders are to go, but you might just want to eat it in the car it's so good. And expect to wait the time you would for a one woman show holding it down (POP). It's in the deep East, and that is what it is, nothing more, nothing less. ESO ambiance - check. All I can say is you definitely want to try Try Dat. Located (usually) on the corner of Seminary & Mac Arthur in front of the Valero, you might just pass by this unassuming (but beautifully colored & vibey) food truck without thinking twice, and you'd be missing a true gem. The menu has a surprising, but not at all overwhelming, selection for being in a food truck, and Miss Jamea (The Boss with the Sauce) does not play at all with these flavors. Follow @try_thisbaby on IG for location or call to double-check before coming.

I will not expect most/all of you to ever run into this food truck. It is not a 'hobby' food truck…read morethat'll only show up at events/food truck gatherings, with a fancy schmancy paint job with cool graphics. This is an OG food truck, owned by one hard working lady, who got permits to park 6 days a week near the Oakland Airport. Unless you're an airport worker, or if you park at the Economy lot and walk it, you'd be hard press in running into this truck. So, since this is a real working food truck, servicing a wide range of people/taste, the truck has a super big menu. I usually frown on that, but given her demographics, I gotta let this one slide. You can get breakfast sandwiches here, burgers, tacos and rice bowls and then some. Some finds for me: Hot Link Breakfast Sausage ($8ish/5*) Nothing fancy here, no brioche, bagel or English Muffin. Straight up sliced toast, possibly Texas toast. Super freshly cooked eggs, nicely grilled split spicy sausage and some cheese, I think. Every bite you get everything, the ends are as good as the center. And that cheapish bread, guess what...it doesn't fall apart nor get soggy. I can eat this morning, afternoon or evening. Wings/Fries Box ($13ish/4*) Sure this is probably a frozen fried chicken product cuz I'm sure I've had similar at many a sports bar. Ain't gonna hate, cuz it basically taste good. Crunchy with a little zing on the outside, and no wet sauce to make it soggy. I like the fries here cuz they sprinkle a seasoned salt over them, finger licking good. Trust. Chicken Strips/Fries Box ($13ish/3*) I didn't like this as much as the wings. The strips were from one large chicken breast, so it was much firmer than chicken tenders should be. And I didn't love the breading. Bacon Cheese Burger, I added a Fried Egg ($14ish/3.5*) Pretty hefty burger, not a 4-5 biter. Not sure what it was, but it had a garlic-y flavor, which kind of threw me for a basic burger out. It wasn't bad just unexpected. Not sure if it was 'inside' the meat, or if the meat was griddled with a touch of garlic, but it kinda gave it a meatloaf characteristic. Also for the price, I kinda wished it came with fries, so next time, I may have to pony up some extra coin. Just gotta throw in that extra star for servicing a specific spot. To consistently be there 6 days a week, 10 hours per day, just gotta throw some respect out there.

Worst food ever! Seriously no flavor and terrible seasoning. Stay away and don't waste your money.read more
