In 2002 AMC retired the American Movie Classics name, resulting in a major shift in its programming. Now when I want to watch the very old classic movies I go the Channel called Movies TV. The problem with all of these channels is they show the same movies over and over. I've since started watching HBO, Peacock and more movies on YouTube. Three Stars for the memories.

To be fair, I also get a kick out of the hand wringing on FNC when the Right takes it in the teeth. FNC patriarch Rupert Murdoch has often said that conservatism is far more lucrative... so ideological purity on either side is honestly an open question. Unfortunately for MSNBC, their corporate parent Comcast just announced that the network (and their other cable networks) will be spun off into a separate entity as a prelude to a sale so that their losses can be quarantined from the mother ship potentially losing free access to NBC News for reportage and coverage. A decade ago I used to be a regular viewer of Morning Joe as the former Republican Congressman would often tweak his C-suite-hearts and play it right down the middle. No more as his lucrative contract and bold face notoriety has made him a very predictable shill for his paymasters. Too bad. Well gang, you better crank up the Cuisinart because you're going to need gallons of those smoothies going forward. Good luck.

These programs educated me as well as my class in the days I taught Head Start. Educational Supplies were not always available but children watched TV at home. I tried to steer families in the direction of beneficial programs. Now flash forward. I'm living on retirement funds that are not allowing me the luxury of hundreds of cable channels. I signed up for our NYC public television emails. WNET Channel 13. There's such a variety of excellent shows on. I've done some screenshots from my emails of the current shows on in October. I can't say enough about this Network and the benefits of public broadcasting. I wish I could afford to donate. I also wish I wouldn't fall asleep during the shows. Oh well! I highly recommend you tune in. Look up the network in your area. Let's all support public television and put the cable and Internet TV out of business. Or at least give them serious competition and drive their prices down. The haves can pay and the have nots remain in the dark.......

I've always been a fan of their broadcasting especially the arts and entertainment stuff they've always provided throughout the years. I will say that I used to be a member and always donated to the cause but admittedly a few years back they did lose Me. This latest move however shows that PBS has grown a set of balls and is willing to take risks which are in My opinion worth while. In August it was released to pop up outdoor drive in theaters where each car was charged a fee for access. Much like the first S & M offering it is an incredible melding of two entirely different styles of music but somehow it works and in a Huge Killer way. I got a text the night of the PBS show from My fellow Music Lover and Yelp Sister Mercedes C. who told Me about it, and again the following morning She said "Man that Shiit was Fire"!! and I couldn't have said it any better Myself. If it comes up while I'm flipping channels, I have to stop and watch. HAVE TO!! Yes, it's very violent. Yes, they're not very PC. But wowww, do they keep you on your toes and guessing with each scene! And they have Dragons!!! lol Incredible writing, cinematography, acting, storytelling and music! There have been a few spin-offs and even a movie in the works. In celebration of their 15th Anniversary, GOT has been on air this whole week starting from season 1 (of 8). If you've never seen GOT, Now's the time to see what you've been missing, and what everyone has been raving about for 15 years. Pretty soon I got hooked and decided to add HBO to my cable line-up at home. Ever since, I am glad I did and glad we have kept it, even now without cable. Over the years HBO continues to premiere good movies, captivating series, special events and documentaries. Since The Sopranos, we have enjoyed series such as: Six Feet Under, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Boardwalk Empire, True Blood, True Detective, Succession, Euphoria, Gilded Age, Silicon Valley, White Lotus, Industry, The Last Of Us, and Plus, a few documentaries: 'The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst' 'Robin Williams: Come Inside My Mind', 'The Crime of the Century' which investigated the role of the pharmaceutical industry in the opioid crisis, the series 'Autopsy' with Forensic Pathologist Dr. Michael Baden (where I assisted Executive Producer, Gaby Monet with content - long story) ;) and currently, 'My Mom Jayne' the stunning well edited and revealing documentary by Mariska Hargitay about the mom she never knew until now, Jayne Mansfield. HBO has a plethora of good quality content.
