The worst service provider. Cable, tv and internet went out on a Thursday. Service person was supposed to show up that Saturday between 10&2. Nobody called or showed up. Then they were supposed to come that Saturday from 10am to 8pm. They never showed up or called. At 9:15pm they finally called to say they have to reschedule. A supervisor finally came at 9:30pm after I complained enough. They did a temporary fix and said they would come back the next day between 10am-2pm. They never called or showed up. Still missing some service and still waiting for resolution. Switching to Verizon ASAP. read more

My 90 year old Veteran, widowed father in law who lives alone and has early dementia had added a channel to his subscription to view a pink panther movie. His bill went up to $400+ the following month. The next month we received a bill for $1,400+ in x-rated pay per view movies. He goes to sleep at 6pm and couldn't possibly have watched what is being billed. An able person could not have watched this many movies in this timeframe. I understand how the elderly push buttons again and again not understanding the consequences. I'm asking optimum/altice to please do the right thing and void his last two bills as a courtesy. He barely knows how to use the remote. We were offered a $25 credit. What a shame, My wife and I are 25+ year customers. I suppose Altice needs the $1,800 more than my father-in-law does. Terrible customer service and technical support. I contacted Tamim of the Optimum technical support office for a router issue. The service and advice I received was terrible. I was on the phone with this rep for 53 minutes where the rep did not resolve my issue, gave bad instructions, and made the technical support problem worse due to his ineptitude! He would not connect me with a supervisor, and didn't put through a request for a supervisor to contact me. He did not log in or notate the call in my account because he knew he made the matter worse. Run not half away from this company and go to a different provider....they stink! read more

I am an Optimum Cablevision customer in Nassau County on Long Island in New York & here I am in this situation- AGAIN!!! This will make the 4th time within a 2-week period that I am unable to access Showtime On Demand. Optimum Cablevision has been promoting free Showtime until the end of the 2018 year to all current customers. I do not yet subscribe to the Showtime channel so it's been a real treat being able to check out their Original Series shows. Unfortunately, I am now completely hooked on Ray Donovan and Billions and look forward to watching these shows all damn day. 6x out of 10x-the free Showtime On Demand Channel will work perfectly. The other 4x, a "Need To Subscribe" banner will pop up and the "PLAY" button suddenly becomes a "SUBSCRIBE" button. That's 1 issue. The other thing I'm struggling with is the On Demand as a whole. Lately, I've been getting a message saying "service unavailable in your area. Try again later." And when they say "later", they mean " LATER later"....like later in the day later and sometimes even the next day. I know things can't run perfectly ALL the time but, I've never seen it this bad. I've been with Cablevision awhile & if I call them for this they will just say they are sorry and that "there is already a technician in that area....blah blah blah....thank u for calling....would you mind taking this survey?" I mean, I'm over having to stay calm and I don't wanna take any more customer surveys-so I'm venting on yelp this time. read more

This company is a nightmare. Have had their service cable internet and phone for over 3 years . Problems all the time . Now finally have service tech come and tell me its the cable leading to the house. He told me that I would be contacted to have this service completed by another crew. Well guess what no call. And trying to reach them is impossible. If you an wait long enough going through a series of prompts you can get on a call back. I have been called back at strange hours by people I can understand. Its almst surreal dealing with them. So problem still exists with both tv and cable no call back to fix problem with outside cable. Today I get some criptic letter from optimum with codes etc on it . I am amazed at the fact this company is still in business and they can get away with the prices they charged. A lot of it has to do with the fact that there are people that are not internet savvy. Presently you can pay Verizon Fios $29 per month and can have internet and if you buy Apple TV you can get pretty much any channel you want; NBC ABC CBS. With an iPhone you can download any of their apps and stream them to your TV. I prefer it this way so I watch what I want rather than sitting there waiting what they will show me next. Cablevision puts this bulky box in your living room that they value at $282.00 (comical really/ stone age stuff) for the first year as a welcome mat they charge you 99.99 for TV Wifi and telephone, in today's age that is highway robbery and after the year is up you can wind up paying 180 per month. As people become more and more savvy with internet, the customers will disappear. I am off Cablevison/Optimum online and I am happy. read more

What a disgrace this company has been. Absolutely no respect for the elderly ! This summer has been spent trying to fix my 84 year old father in laws television service and phone service No shows,late night appointments that need to be canceled because the tech "can't work in the dark " And hours and hours of telephone calls ... and still not fixed! I have had Altice One installed on 08/31/19 and I switched from Verizon Fios. The installation was not completed. I have a hard wired phone in my kitchen that now does not work. I was not given my account number and I cannot set up email voice mail without it. Calling them at 866-200-7273 every day this week, 9/2/ to 9/6 I have been put on hold and waited over 36 minutes on hold with no answer. "due to unusually high call volume" please use their website. I want to know if they are having a price war with the channel since it hasn't worked in a week. Simple question. The automated voice just drones on and on and on with the reboot procedure. I called Cablevision Customer Service to resolve a billing issue. I have been given a special discount on my bill totaling $66 until 6/23-7/22 when it was reduced to $45. I called Cablevision Customer service when I was told they would reinstate the original $66 discount. Plus I was promised 3 months free Cinemax access for my trouble. Needless to say I never received my reinstated $discount nor the free 3 months of Cinemax. When I called today 8/25/2020 to ask about my concerns, I was cutoff, and had to call again and wait for a call back. 2 hours later no resolution. read more

Under the new management it takes hours to get through to them. When you finally get through you get to speak with someone in another country who could hardly understand the questions. They have a script they speak and are like robots. If you ask for a manager they say there are none or they will have someone call back. They never do. They raised their rates. I wanted to discuss an alternative option. You can't speak with anyone about it on the phone. That is not an option. Instead you have to go on line and speak with someone in a chat! REALLY! Worst cable service in the nation. It's called Optimum now, owned by Altice (a Dutch company) who bought it from the Dolans. All the things the Dolans gave us have been either removed, downgraded or now they are charging us for those services where it was free before. For instance, Cablevision gave us a free modem 15 years ago and somehow Altice decided last year they were going to charge us $8 per month for using this 15 year old modem. They downgraded all the servers, they run at lower capacity, and that JD Power and Assoc award no longer holds true. We used to have no problem connecting and now there is a problem connecting constantly, daily. The service is spotty, the multiroom feature especially is, the service that tells you what season you are watching now only works for new shows, no longer for any reruns and the information is no longer held with the shows you record. I cannot say enough bad things about them. I was so hoping Spectrum was going to buy the service but they didn't, now we have to deal with money grubbing Europeans who added $50-$75 to out bill over the last 4 years and reduced our services and removed some channels. . read more

We contacted Cablevision after not receiving service for days following getting our electric. Trying to contact them was quiet the ordeal. First of all, their phone number for our area was constantly busy. There was no notice from cablevision as to why. As a business owner myself, when the storm hit and we lost power, we found a way to communicate to our customers that we had no power and stayed in communication with them throughout. No effort like this came from cablevision. Mind you we did not consider trying to reach them until over a week after the storm had passed. We understood the extreme circumstances we were all in. But after awhile, you would think some effort would have been put forth. After we had power restored at our business (which cablevision has our phone, internet and television service for), we used our home service to go online to look for any alternate phone numbers to reach cablevision ANYWHERE. After logging in our account, we saw a note sent the day before we logged in, apologizing for the outage and a toll free number to reach them. We were excited and called immediately. The excitement waned immediately. After waiting over a half hour for anyone to come to the phone, I spoke to a less than enthused employee at cablevision who, after I told her that all 3 services (phone, internet, television) were not working, chose to focus on the television, asking me to follow a procedure I, as a customer had done several times already. After trying to explain to her that I had done this already, I attempted to cooperate with here and I did the procedure with no success. She then told me that services were out in our area but that technicians were in our area working on the problem. I advised her I drove the whole neighborhood and there were no reps anywhere to be found. I asked her if she had any idea when someone might be working on our area, she claimed not to know and seemed less than caring about. At this point I got angry. I advised her that compassion is very little to ask and that she was not showing any empathy towards our situation. I also advised her that we would let people know what was happening and that while it might not affect her job now, it would when less people subscribed to Cablevision. She didn't care and showed it by her lack of enthusiasm or effort to try to research the situation. I hung up very angry and beginning to look for other options. It is my experience that a good way to solve these issues is to send a letter to the company customer relations department. This is what I did. Below is a copy of the letter which states: "We started an account with you based upon what we thought was a reliable service. We have patiently waited for our services to be restored to our business. Unfortunately: 1) no cablevision trucks have been cited in our area 2) little or no communication has been forthcoming from you 3) your phone number 364-8400 is constantly busy. Lack of communication is totally unfair to us. Our phone, internet and television services are all with you. As a business, we are having problems with OUR customers due to your lack of communication. At this time we are considering getting another service. Our business is not the only ones considering this. All the businesses on our block are experiencing the same issues with you. We have full power and no service. This is our last ditch effort to begin communication with you. It is our hope that you will find this email important enough to reach out to us and let us know what is going on. A busy phone or no communication does not inspire confidence." After sending this letter, the customer relations department emailed me to state that service was on in our area and that calling them would be the way to get our service turned on. Since we had such trouble trying to call them previously, I sent an email with my phone number and asked if they could call me (anytime of night or day) asap so that I could go down to our business (3 minutes away) and go thru the procedure with them. I kept my phone near my bed for the rest of the night waiting. Thank goodness I wasn't holding my breath.....NO CALL (surprise, surprise). I went to my computer the next morning to see an email reply from them stating the following: "Due to the limitations of Email Support, you will need to contact us by phone or chat to look into this further. " Did I ask for Email support? Frustrated but needing to get service back for my customers, I called them and the technician determined that THEY HAD TO SEND SOMEONE OUT TO US TO WORK ON THE PROBLEM! We have finally received our service but the whole incident sequence has left a bad taste in my mouth. At this time we are actively looking for a replacement for Cablevision. They have already lost most of our home service to Directv. It looks as if our business may go that way too..... read more

I have been an Optimum subscriber for 15+ years and i have had enough. Their TV signal is crap and when it goes out it takes the internet and phone with it. I have been told that i am the only person in my apartment building having an issue and it is because of interference on the line which is just another way of saying their network sucks ass. When you call the "Customer Service" all they do is send a useless tech to your house so they can charge you for it. Customer service switches clients around and around the company's telephone extensions. When requesting a supervisor, a rep. will try to talk you out of it. When returning boxes, no one will pick them up, send a service tech. or even shipping boxes for the client's convenience. But you sure will get a bill for hundreds of dollars per box, despite attempting to resolve the issue numerous times, responsibly. The web site, forces you to use a printer for labels. One thousand phone calls later someone on their chat services is mailing me labels only, not even shipping packaging. read more

DO NOT GET ALTICE ONE. It is horrible. Absolutely terrible. They charge 200+ dollars a month for a system that constantly needs to be restarted. I would give it 0 stars if that was an option but to write a review you have to give at least one. It doesn't even deserve that. I "upgraded" to this system in the middle of July and have had to call optimum at least 12 times for issues with this system. In bad weather we lose all the channels and it takes days to come backs. I don't have optimum now and never will for as long as I can help it. This company continually uses mass mailing advertisement cards that are coated with plastic. The main reason I suppose is to save on envelopes, but is criminally responsible for polluting the environment. These cards cannot be sorted into neither paper nor plastic so I suppose mosts people resort to throwing away with regular trash. I've been trying to call the 888 number with hopes in putting an end to their junk mail to me and can't get through. LIES LIES LIES !!!! had someone come on 8/20 to do an insolation in my new home... took 5 hours and the person was so rude, after many calls waiting for supervisors and managers to call me regarding damage done to my home by the tec and the job is still not complete. Last Tuesday 8/28 had a "supervisor" come to repair but when he showed up he had NO EQUIPEMENT TO REPAIR ANYTHING !!!! i guess he thought he was just coming for dinner and to check out the damage.... on 8/29 another tec arrived - no call no warning to repair the damage and said " someone will be back tomorrow to complete" its 9/11 and we are still waiting.
