Returned for lunch this time with a coworker, wanted to show him what this place is about. I used this visit to try something new myself: the French dip sandwich. The meat was generous and the horseradish came through clearly, giving it a solid kick, though it built up to the point where it started to overpower rather than complement. My bigger issue was the bread. For a French dip to work, you need a roll that yields when it meets the au jus, and this one was too firm to do that job right. I'd want something softer, ideally sourdough. Probably won't reorder it, but I appreciate that they offer it. My coworker went with the minestrone and a side of bread. He said it was decent but needed a little salt to get there. Service held steady from my last visit, which is always good to see. One small hiccup: the QR code for ordering had expired, but staff caught it immediately and handled it without making it a thing. Dropping from five stars to four this time around. I was saying across the street at a hotel and I was starving. I needed something fast. I walked over and it was pretty empty in side. I waited about 5-10 minutes for my food and left. I ordered the son of a baker and a Diet Coke. The can of Diet Coke was $2.50 plus tax. The meatballs sandwich and the service was great. I would return if I am in town. read more

Very solid pastrami Reuben, especially at $13.50 (+tax). The sandwich had a good ratio of pastrami to sauerkraut and sauce to bread. I think most of their sandwiches are a good size for lunch. It's typically enough to make me full but not be overly bloated. I'll try another sandwich next time but do recommend the Reuben! read more

A deli tucked away in South San Francisco. I ordered the caprese sandwich Togo. When I arrived the panini was already waiting for me. I grabbed a bite of a chocolate cookie sample that they had put out. The panini was tasty and grilled perfectly. Decent sized dining area with tables on the sidewalk as well. Plenty of parking, just out of the beaten path. I would come back to try other meals. read more

Esposto's replaced Specialty's at 701 Gateway. Sandwich for sandwich, amiright? I've had Esposto's before at the Mission Bay location, so happy to find a location right by work. People that work here are super friendly. Sandwiches are somewhat small (for American standards) and therefore are a bit on the pricier side. My usual go to is their Reuben sandwich, which is perfectly toasted with juicy meat and sauerkraut. My only complaint is that there isn't that much protein (as mentioned, kind of small). Still tasty. But hey, if you believe in portion control, then this shouldn't be too much of a problem. As for parking, there is guest parking adjacent to the joint. Most visitors here are workers in the nearby area, so they would not be using the guest parking. Definitely will be back when I'm in the mood for a sandwich and don't want to go too far (e.g. if I don't have enough time to go to Little Lucca's). read more

Inside is clean nothing too special, the workers are friendly. However the food was the main issue. We ordered a chicken parm sandwich and instead we got the chicken parm pasta bowl. The chicken was a chicken nugget with cheese on it. Super bland and the pasta sauce had no flavor. We also got a grilled cheese with tomato soup, the grilled cheese wasn't melted in the middle and was extremely bland. The soup was spicy which was unexpected but honestly helped add some sort of flavor since the sandwich was like biting into nothing. Also their water was grossly sweet since they put orange slices in it instead of the standard lemons..... Up date don't get the chicken parm pasta bowl it put me in the restroom for the entire night Up date it's day 3 post eating at this place. Still no sign of the out side world. Hidden gem!! This is a good little spot located near oyster point. Found it randomly when I was looking for food near my job site. The service is friendly and super quick even when you order in person. You can call prior to pick up as well. The space if you dine in is spacious and has a few tables outside. Espostos deli is tucked away near the gateway campuses in SSF. I stopped by with my team to grab some Sandos during lunch and it did not disappoint. They have my fav bread which is the fluffy Dutch crunch! The portions are very big so I saved half of my Sando for later. They were also offering pastries samples and their cookies were amazing! They also do corporate catering which I high recommend as well. My team got the holiday catering from them and the process was a breeze. They delivered the food to my campus on time, and everything was delicious! read more

Hidden amidst the corporate park at Gateway is a hidden gem known as Esposto's. Conveniently located in an easily accessible place for corporate workers and near lots of accessible parking makes for a great lunch spot during work hours. Many workers in my office come here for a quick lunch, and there's a reason that people come back so often. The prices are very worth the serving size, and the quality of food is always very fresh! There is inside and outside seating (inside has very nice ambience, and it's pretty quiet outside). My go-to is the Bacon Cheeseburger or the Wedgie Salad with Flank Steak. Customer service is terrible. Handed me a cold chocolate croissant, I had to ask them to heat it up. Asked for a breve latte and they don't carry half and half or heavy cream. Asked for a steamed milk for the baby and he gave it to me boiling hot. This was my first visit to Esposto's since the deli in San Mateo closed. Even though it's a drive from San Mateo, it was worth it! My dad really misses the deli in San Mateo, so I surprised him with a drive to SSF. The place was very clean and all of the staff were very helpful and friendly. The sandwiches were incredibly delicious! When we were leaving to head home, they brought each of us a chocolate chip cookies. What a great experience- can't wait to go back! read more

Omg! What can I say...but Delicious! Went there today and I had the Geno Italian Salad, it had mortadella, cheeses, olives, artichoke hearts and more...it was amazing! Today we had the Cubano and DNA sandwiches. So good! The bread was soft & so fresh- as usual' they bake their own bread! try their fresh baked oatmeal raisin cookies too. I was a frequent customer of their San Mateo location and missed their marinated steak salads and all their yummy food! I finally made the visit to SSF and I'm glad I did!
