I cannot recommend Tammy enough!! I rescued an 8 yr old chihuahua terrier mix back in March. He had…read morea skin infection, had bad kennel cough (he would sneeze out large amounts of blood) and was recovering from being neutered. I gave him so much love and attention. What I did not realize at the time was that I was setting him up with bad habits. I let him control our house and do whatever he wanted. He wasn't ruining our things and was potty trained so I figured why not. He then started to growl if we bothered him while he was sleeping and then he started to bite us. Once he started to bite our guests, I was horrified. He ended up biting my parents dog so bad that he needed to get stitches and I was devastated. I felt responsible for all this harm but I also knew if I returned him back to the shelter, he would probably be euthanized. I did so much research to see if this was fixable. That's when I found Tammy. Her background is phenomenal. She is knowledgable and trustworthy. She helped us understand that our small dog is acting out because he is so nervous and we just needed to show him that we were in control. When we left him for her train and boarding program, I was expecting him to wear his muzzle the whole entire time. I was shocked to find out that she only needed it for a couple hours. She had her own dogs and cat living with her but she was able to make him feel safe and control any bad behavior. That nice thing about going to her instead of a big company is that she will be with your dog to correct him/her whenever they act oūut. When Tammy brought him back he was completely different. He was a lot calmer and we could walk him without him pulling and barking at other animals or people. He was also finally able to sit and stay. I never realized how important sitting is until he was trained. She also trained him not to mark his territory so hes not constantly trying to pull us to pee on random things anymore. He just squats to pee whenever we take him out to pee. She has taught us so much about how to read dog behavior and gain control so our dog no longer feels the need to control. Once in a while he tries to test us and go back into his old behavior but her board and training comes with 5 separate hour long sessions. And shes also available over text. She has never made us feel like we're bothering her with our questions. You can tell she genuinely wants to help people train their dogs and is not in it just for the money.

Tammy recognized her issues in the first 10 minutes and made changes in her in the 1st session! Tammy taught us the correct way to run our dog on the treadmill and proper walking techniques. We live in south Lake Tahoe. Tammy said she wanted to make sure when our puppy was 80lbs she wasn't pulling us down on the ice and snow. Thank goodness! My daughter was 10 at the time and had no problem controlling our dog. Friends come over all the time and always comment on how good our dog is, we owe a lot of it to Tammy and her techniques! We are getting another ridgeback puppy next week and Tammy took time on the phone today to give me some tips. I will definitely use her again with this new pup! THANK YOU TAMMY!!!

Pets To Go has been our neighborhood pet store since we first landed in Elk Grove, and we've been…read morecoming here ever since they first opened their doors. At this point, the people who work here genuinely feel like extended family. One of the things that makes this place so special for us is that it's not just a quick shopping trip -- it's something my daughter looks forward to. Brooklyn loves visiting on the weekends because she gets to pet the cats that roam around the store, and if we're lucky she might get to hold a bird or spend time with a guinea pig or bunny. It's such a fun, hands-on experience for kids, and the staff is always kind and patient with her. Over the years we've purchased supplies for multiple pets here, and they've helped us through several additions to our little reptile family. I actually got my first crested gecko from them when they first opened, then my daughter picked out her beautiful fire orange crested gecko, Blossom, and most recently we brought home Peachy Pete -- our adorable little "frog butt" crested gecko (he lost his tail at some point before we got him, which somehow makes him even cuter). What keeps us coming back year after year is the consistency. Everyone is knowledgeable, approachable, and always willing to help without making you feel rushed or pressured. Whether we need food, habitat supplies, or advice, they take the time to make sure we leave confident. You can also tell they genuinely care about the animals themselves, which matters so much as a pet owner. It never feels transactional -- it feels like they want both the pets and the families to succeed. We almost always find what we need here, and honestly I'm so grateful they're right down the street from us because they've become such a trusted part of our routine. If you're looking for a local pet store where the staff is experienced, kind, and truly invested in helping you care for your animals, this place is a gem.

My wife and I were searching for a dog trainer form our 4 year old Frenchie rescue named Benny…read more Benny is awesome on walks but does not like people he doesn't know when we have them over to the house. What we loved about Wag Time and Don (owner and trainer) is that he does not use treats or shock. He employs voice and leash control. In reality Don trains YOU how to train! Honestly I was a skeptic! BUT we saw IMMEDIATE improvement during the very first lesson!! We have had 6 lessons so far, and Benny has come a long way! Life changing for us! Meet Don once and you will feel the same we do about him, his techniques, and his love for what he does!

By the time we were done with our 3rd lesson we ran into Don and another customer in a public place and he used my dog to show as an example. More importantly, he got the other dog, who was extremely reactive to other dogs, to walk along with my dog within 10 minutes. The other owner was in disbelief and asked for permission to take a video of our dogs calmly walking together at The Fountains with tons of distractions. It's been a year and we just finished our 6th lesson only to correct some of the behavior that my dog does in the car, such as getting supper excited when driving to familiar places. I have had so many people compliment how calm and behaved my 2.5 year old Lab is (often act as a much more mature dog).
