Booked a groupon with Essence Spa , was able to schedule an appointment easily. I groupon a couples massage~(60 min deep tissue massage, stone, and 30min ion detox) for my significant other and myself. Unfortunately i didn't get the ladies name but she was very accommodating with our morning schedule. Short wait upon arrival but greeted very friendly by this gentleman. He showed us to our room and made conversations which is a plus! It shows that they care about socializing with their customers. They were informative and made sure my significant other and i were comfortable. Upon undressing to get onto the table, we noticed the covering was a little too small! That's what made us just a little uncomfortable. I felt a little exposed. As far as getting work done, i was getting my massage from the gentleman and my boyfriend was getting the massage from the woman that assisted me over the phone. We enjoyed our massages and they really did worked out on our kinks. They took their time and made sure we were comfortable and not in pain! My boyfriend definitely enjoyed his massage, the woman went deep with pains and muscles. They worked out whole body, front & back and stones. Ended the session with ii. detox which was really cool! I've personally never done it before. It's pretty much a foot bath that will tell you what your body removing toxic elements like heavy metals, mold, yeast, fungus, pesticides, preservatives etc. At the end, they give you a colorful chart, depending on the color of your water is what your toxins are. Tina has given me one of the best massages I've had in Vegas. She knows exactly the areas that need more pressure, and she consistently checks with you if the pressure is good or painful, or if she needs to make adjustment. I came in off of a Groupon that I had forgotten I had bought during the summer. The Groupon was for a 60 minute deep tissue massage and foot scrub. Upon arriving, Essence Spa is located in a small strip mall. I can see how when this lot fills up how it could be hard to find a parking spot. On this day, I had no issues finding one. Entering the facility there was no one at the front desk. I figured it was due to being short staffed because of COVID. Someone popped out and said "someone will be with you in a couple minutes". She then removed the caution tape that covered the seating area so that I could sit while I waited for someone to check me in. A few minutes later someone welcomed me, took my temperature, before leading me to the room I'd have my massage. All staff members that I saw, were wearing masks. Once it was time for the massage to take place, I could hear voices from another room. I realized it was because the door was shared between the room I was in and another and there was a large gap from the bottom of the door to the floor. Not to mention the walls seem to be paper thin. As I did my best to relax and enjoy the massage, which was great, I couldn't fall asleep as I would normally during a massage not only due to the other rooms chatter, but from my own masseuse talking to me. The massage itself was great. Hot stones were used during the massage on my back. My masseuse mentioned that there is more time being spent being working on your back, due to COVID. Plan on spending more time on your stomach than normal. I had no problem with at all. The scrub is done during the massage as well. If you also find Essence on Groupon, call Essence first to see if they will honor the Groupon deal without buying it there. This will help the business to generate more money as Groupon takes a certain percentage. read more

So this place is no Massage Envy but it's awesome! The place is clean and the girls are pretty good. I had just lost my mom when a friend thought it would be a good idea to get a massage. It was painful but a good painful. I was able to get almost every part of my body relieved except for my chest and neck (duh!) Kind of hard to get that area relaxed when I can barely stop crying since I have sooooo many memories coming and going these 10+ days since mom's passing. I would have given this place 5 stars if I would have gotten a breast pillow and a knee pillow to not create a painful lower back from my big butt... LOL I didn't explore the location but it felt clean and the service was quick. I always like going in and not having to wait for a massage. This is an honest review. I am not a person who reviews in the negative, I commonly have always exercised a high empathetic tolerance. Two huge red flags in customer service. The first: I purchased a groupon for a massage. It clearly states the terms in the fine print and in the title line. It is very clearly written. 90-Minute Deep-Tissue or Swedish Hot Stone Massage with 30 Minute Ion Detox. Notice, the key term here is OR. Upon original purchase of this deal, there was two options, either the 60 minute massage or the 90 minute. I chose the 90 minute. I guess this is a lie to get people in the door which essentially is a scam. I called to book and am immediately NOT greeted with a cordial service based dialogue. The lady asks for how many minutes am I booking for and if it is for one person or two. Then she immediately asks if this is a groupon. After I said yes. She jumps into an aggressive tone with a strong Chinese accent. (I know this because she stated "I am Chinese no good for explain..") While yelling at me while I am kindly trying to explain that I had two options to choose from and this is what was selected. I think she was trying to scare off any room for discussion or debate based off of her tone, manor, and accent. She expected me to apologize to her most likely for "not understanding" something that is very clear. I was not going to succumb to the notion of being in the wrong in order to receive less service and have her run a scheme without hitches. She went on to force the notion that this is only a 60 minute massage with a 30 minute detox. It clearly states otherwise . She seemed to intentionally use her accent to her advantage any time I would try to restate a question kindly, and at the same time jump down my throat verbally not allowing me to talk and yell profusely. It seems very tactfully exercised to use her accent to have people not actually receive what they paid for, so that she can get away with charging deceptively and booking more customers. Rather than what was presented to purchase. Her verbal attack mannerisms was deployed from the get go and she understood what I was asking. She would speak some sort of excuse thinking I couldn't understand the excuse she gave me by intentionally making it difficult to interpret. I could hear every word she was using which seemed to take her by surprise and she would change excuses. You don't just run a full fledge business without being able have a simple dialogue. I then articulated to her my question about the detox "foot bath" portion. I asked if this portion would require myself to sit rather than lay down. She said yes . you sit very relax. This is part of the Second Red Flag: I articulated that I am unable to take on a seated position medically, only laying down. This is a medical disability and poses no risk to me laying down. I am just unable to sit. I get massages and even chiropractic care which I frequent, there is no danger to receiving a massage. I simply am medically unable to remain seated. She continued to rage rant that this is not 90 minute massage option you can change it to the 60 minute through groupon, and to "think about it" in a loud condescending tone before hanging up on me. (This conversation where she flagrantly rushed lasted about 90 seconds tops with myself keeping my cool and asking in a normal clear tone my points of clarification which she deflected repeatedly) I dialed again, she immediately picked up as if she knew it was the person she was yelling at and began to tell me if you don't want 60 minutes I can't do you. I said ok , I want 60 minutes massage but no detox. She said yes detox . I said I ONLY want the massage portion and do not care about the rest. She then frankly discriminated against me and stated if you have a "problem"(as in medical) I can't do you. I simply told her that I can not sit. So that I would take the 60 min portion and merrily be on my way. She did not try to get to know what the sitting issue was, or go into any detail whatsoever. She wouldn't even speak to me properly to get to know the situation. and as I clearly stated to her that there is nothing preventing me from receiving a massage laying down whatsoever and I have medical documentation to prove that if necessary. she just said I can't do you aggressively and hung up. It is disgraceful how they choose to speak with customers and the tactics to suck people in the door. There must be a lot of easy to please customers as far as being fooled and with low standards. I'm sure you can get a 60 minute massage and a 30 minute detox foot bath, but this speaks to the character of the establishment . Dishonest with Bad Customer Service, who discriminate without pause to understand their customers. Mistreated with a preconceived misjudged notion. Go to someone who actually cares to treat people like people. read more

Received a couple's massage as a Christmas gift here. It's a small, unassuming place in a strip mall, but boy are looks deceiving. This was easily the best massage each of us has received. We were led into a couple's room with side-by-side massage tables and soothing music. Our two masseurs (a masseur and a masseuse named Tina) accepted my challenge for a "strong" massage - and they delivered. Stretches, hot stone, Swedish, warm oils, scrubs, all combined for an amazing, relaxing, therapeutic, and rejuvenating 70-minute massage experience. I forgot about my initial appointment but they were able to squeeze me in on the same day and did not charge me extra (I was surprised and tipped very nicely). This was one of the best massages I have ever had. The appointment started on time and the massage therapist took the full hour for my massage. The oil she used was fragrant but not overpowering. She was very attentive and made sure that the stone and cloths were not too hot. I have been to several massage spas in the greater Vegas area. I've tried the generic places such as Massage Envy. I've frequented other smaller operations such as Essence, locally owned mom and pop set ups. I've even been to the Qua spa at Caesar's. Essence, by far, has them all beat by miles. First off, you get an absolute quality full body massage with a sea salt scrub at only $68 for an hour. I bought 2 coupons on Groupon for myself and my boyfriend, and while we were already impressed at the deal we were getting, we left Essence amazed at the excellent treatment we received by Tony and his associate. I carry plenty of tension in my neck and shoulders, and always have stiffness and feel minor discomfort every day. Tony could tell this immediately, and he focused on those areas, adjusting the pressure as needed with little to no direction from me. His intuitiveness to the give and tension while he was massaging me was so welcomed and much needed. I typically leave 1 hour massages wishing it could have gone longer. Either I still feel a bit of tension or don't leave as relaxed as I wished I would. But at Essence, with their attention to detail and intuitiveness to your body's reaction to the movements, my 1 hour massage felt like 3. I left feeling so light and relaxed, I couldn't stop smiling. Today was my first visit to Essence but it definitely will not be my last. I imagine I will fill up my punch card rather quickly. Excellent local spa with great service for unbeatable prices. Day of:We were running 10 min late and they were so kind and didn't reduce our session time. When we pulled up it was in a small stripmall. Definitely a little hole in the wall but don't let appearances deceive you! Cute little entrance and everyone observing covid restrictions. Some of the seating was blocked off. Asked us us sanitize hands immediately. No other guests were there. That might have just been coincidence but it was great, private. With this being the first massage for my daughters, what a great experience! They were made so comfortable from being lighthearted, friendly and professional to the the great services. My eldest had a private room with Tina, who she said was fabulous and made her feel so comfortable in a new experience. My 16-year old and myself shared a room. I had a male therapist (Tony I believe but I'm terrible with names)! My daughter had a female therapist. Was great to share the room so my daughter was comfortable. We all had great massages/facial/paraffin hand wax. While I'm used to having separate facials and massages, this was a nice blend for the price.
