I work in the ER, and although I was sent home with steroids and antivirals, I still felt lost because many of my questions were unanswered and no one could give me a clear reason why it happened. I was told it could have been triggered by a virus, stress, or lack of sleep. Before starting acupuncture, the entire right side of my face was completely paralyzed. I could not smile at all, I could not close my eye, and I had to tape my eye shut every night to protect it. Watching your face change like that is incredibly hard and scary, and it affects you emotionally in ways people don't always understand. After finishing my steroids, I decided to start acupuncture with Dr. Lanie Quan, and I truly believe I came into the right hands. I am currently on session six and the difference has been incredible. My face now looks close to normal again, my movement has improved so much, and I finally feel hopeful in my recovery. Her BIE treatments have been more effective than allergy shots for our 13-year-old son. They are much less painful and expensive too (with our insurance plan). He was allergic to so many environmental and seasonal stressors, including cats, pollen, mold, trees, and weeds. Bed so much better now and days he can breathe through his nose as soon as he's treated. BIE can also effectively treat more allergens than allergy shots. Mold is a good example. This past year, our son also developed many food intolerances, and Deborah has helped tremendously with those as well. Our son is so happy that he can eat his favorite foods again, including dairy, various meats, pastas, and tomato sauce.

But where they stand out is that they are compassionate, knowledgeable and really jump right into addressing your concerns. When I wrecked my back, for God knows what reason other than being old and stuff happens now, I had no clue what to do. My dr prescribed the typical pain relaxers and physical therapy which didn't work. I really didn't know what to do next. So I did the normal thing try everything else out to see if works. Luckily, I started first with Accupuncture and scheduled an appointment with Rebecca. She figured out what was going on and could relate to what I was going through. At this point I just wanted to be able to sleep and maybe walk again. The first session went quickly and on my drive home was thinking that's not bad and wow I can kind of walk a bit normal again.
