The airwaves of the lower Hudson Valley have been subjected relentlessly over the past year to a vignette where a man's voice says that he has to go see his dealer. "You mean Dumb-Dumb Dave?" says a female voice, presumably the wife/girlfriend, which then proceeds to tell us of the virtues of this place and how it's sooo much better than meeting some loser in a parking lot somewhere. "Dumb-Dumb Dave", the guy says, and then chuckles. Yuk yuk yuck. Leave aside the idea that if this couple still doesn't know that New York has legalized recreational cannabis for a few years now, they must have smoked so much as to have irreparably damaged their brains. This ad is infuriatingly insulting. If it weren't for Dumb-Dumb Dave and people like him, this place would have no market. They kept people who wanted marijuana supplied with it for all these years when they had to do it looking over their shoulder, only for the state which was so ready to arrest them and sometimes parade them before the public in cuffs to essentially appropriate their business without so much as a penny in compensation because it wants the tax money. With little chance of finding some replacement livelihood, no doubt due to the records they racked up through so many drives into random parking lots that turned out to be buy-and-busts. And that wasn't enough, apparently -- they now have to put up with being publicly ridiculed for making their way the only way they knew how, by the sort of people who never would have put their own skin in that game because they were off at business school. I'm sure that when the woman in the ad brings bf/hubby to 46 Ronald Reagan Blvd. (figures that would be their address) she will be impressed by the way the other women there are no doubt all decked out in the latest from the Anthropologie and Quince websites. I make the trip all the way from Shelton, CT to Peekskill, NY just to come here, and every mile is worth it. From the moment you walk in, the vibe is spot on. With its retro-inspired charm and the feel of an old-school general store, Valley Greens strikes the perfect balance between nostalgic comfort and modern convenience. I came back specifically for their kief, and I still can't get over the top-tier quality, fantastic pricing, and how genuinely friendly and knowledgeable the staff is. You just don't find this kind of consistency and care everywhere. Valley Greens has made a forever loyal customer out of me. Also because they carry Dime Industries and honestly it wasn't worth it. No first time customer discount which already felt like a miss. The delivery was even worse. $13 delivery fee and then I find out the driver doesn't carry change. Not just that driver either - I called the store and they told me this is their standard and it's expected all change is additional tip so it's basically expected. That puts you in a really uncomfortable position because you're forced to overtip or figure it out on the spot. I ended up tipping cash thinking that was it but then the card machine added another $5 tip on top. 20 minute ordeal because the driver didn't have my $10 for change and card machine wasn't working. Ended up tipping that much after all btwn. Card & cash. The store couldn't take my payment over the phone either. Total tip came out to $21 which is crazy for what it was. Between the fees and the way they handle tipping I wouldn't order from here again. Not to mention I ordered hours before on Weedmaps awaiting my delivery which was cancelled. She looked at me and commented how "some" people have no taste; I knew what she meant as I've been bullied by similar people my whole life about the disability I was born with. I did not say anything about her young boy, looked about 13, who helped her deliver her goods and sat in the back of the bus rolling joints for her; good mother there! While I waited, one of the owners who looks scruffy, commented to the grower how all they have to do is print out FAKE LABELS and how the kids will buy anything with a FAKE LABEL. Isn't this supposed to be FOR ADULTS???? Whenever I go to walk my service dog at the local parks, there are GRAFFITI ADS for this "bus" ruining the local parks - as the owners are spray painting it illegally in the parking lots of the local parks. I was refused service after they saw how disabled I was - WHICH IS ILLEGAL! They started acting like I was a cop about the bust them; when clearly I'm disabled. THESE PEOPLE ARE PARANOID and SICK individuals. There is SHIT all over the floor of the bus. It is not CLEAN. It is not sanitary. And the products are all ILLEGAL.
