This is a no frills spa up front, which is what you'd expect for the great prices they have. Regardless of the front being unassuming/basic, the massage rooms are all very quiet and zen like. I had 3 amazing massages here and my boyfriend has had 2. For the best price around. I also had cupping done with Adam which was phenomenal. Not sure why has low reviews as the people that work there have been so nice and friendly! With this price, I actually have money left to tip the person that deserves it the most. read more

I will not be coming back here ever again. This place is a fraud. I'll be reporting them to the better business bureau as something suspect is going on here. I had a gift certificate purchased for me during Christmas to this location. I was told it would be on my account and whenever I book, it will appear. I called to schedule my appointment and I ask if my gift certificate credit is on my account and I'm told yes. Great, I book. A few days I have to reschedule my initial appointment to a different time and again, I ask if my credit is on my account and I'm told yes it is. However the clerk is clearly trying to rush me off the phone. So I have my appointment and then when it's time to pay, I ask for my $100 credit to be applied. Now all of a sudden there is no credit on my account and they know don't what I'm talking about because there's never been a credit on the account. Really? I checked twice and was told yes then AFTER my appointment, I'm told I don't have my gift certificate credit on my account and that I'll need to pay the full balance. So now I have to get in touch with the person who bought my gift certificate and ask they go through their December statement to "prove" they paid for it, then I have to file a dispute with my credit card company to get my money back and I'll also be filing a complaint with BBB because they are taking peoples money and trying to make it appear as "mistakes" read more

This is the first time I've ever been there and I already made a another appointment for next week. I have been wearing lash extensions for over four years. I had my lashes filled today at Retreat Essentials today. The tech did a horrible job, and got glue all over my lashes. She kept pinching my lids with the tweezers like it was the first time she had done lashes. Needless to say my lashes look horrible. They also tried to overcharge me. I have been to the spa a few times and I always request Keith to do my massage because he doesn't amazing job! However my experience with the actual salon owner was horrible. I called and booked a spa day in advance with a friend of mine. She gave me a price over the phone of $170 for an hour and a half massage, a cold stone facial, a steam tent with a back scrub, We each get a glass of wine and some snacks in between services. I agreed to the price and booked the services. A few minutes after booking I called back to see if we would be able to get the massages in the same room. She seemed hesitant and told me that it might not work out with the therapist schedules to do that and that they only have one steam bed. So I told her it's no big deal if we can have the massages together then that's great if not no problem. She never mentioned an extra charge or anything. The owner ended that conversation by letting us know we should bring a bathing suit for the steam tent part. My friend and I showed up ready for our spa day and the massage therapist took us into a room where we were having our massage together. So afterwords the owner came up to me and said that because we wanted to be in the same room we were no longer getting the steam tent. Which was not discussed at all! She gave us some crackers and cheese and slices of strawberries the crackers were stale we couldn't eat them. The aesthetician came in and took my friend for her facial and I had to sit and wait about 30 minutes for her to finish. Then the aesthetician came and took me and my friend had to wait 30 minutes.It was frustrating because we spent more time there than we needed to. Then when it came time to check out she still charged us $170. Even though we did not get the steam bath that was promised to us. We asked her how much an hour and a half massage was and she said $70 which when I looked online it's only $55. And we asked how much a facial was and she said it was $35. That comes to $105 so we asked what are we being charged an additional $65 for? And her response was that the back scrub was $46 and she is trying to run a small business and has bills to pay!!! We were so mad! We will never be back to this location again and I will be disputing the charge on my credit card for the correct amount that we should have been charged. I hope that Keith finds a new place of employment and I can come to him for a massage because I will never step foot in this location ever again. read more

Was promised a female therapist when I booked my appt a week prior and got a man the only reason I didn't leave is because I live so far away, was in pain and looking for relief plus I had a gift certificate I need to use! I confronted the owner who blamed it on her computer system and played dumb! It's freezing inside there so it's hard to relax. The male therapist is amateur at best used his forearms and fists most of the time instead of his hands! His hands were freezing also! He dug his fists so hard into the top of my breasts I was in agony and in pain for days after and during! He said to me have you ever had a pectoral massage before and I said NO?! Never! And I get massaged all the time in different places and no one has ever asked me that nor done that to me!!!! I felt gross and dirty when I left! I will NEVER return or send people there! My massage experience has been great. The front desk, not so much. The owner has a very thick accent, as english is her second language. When she set my appointment up, I asked for deep tissue massage (and said it several times). When I arrived for my appointment they had me in as a relaxation massage. Also, when the owner called to confirm my appointment, i could not understand anything she said on my voicemail. Very thick accent, not well spoken English. This place exemplifies the adage: You get what you pay for. Enticed by the low cost, I had three "hour-long" massages here. The first lasted 37 minutes, the next 42, the last 49. There are clocks right in the room, so it's very easy to see EXACTLY how long the massage is. Don't advertise an hour if they are not that. There is an unacceptable and awkward demand for gratuity, right as you pay:"How much gratuity do you plan to give?" No! I don't need to be asked that. After the "forced" payments at Massage Envy, I switched and have been going to this branch of Essentials for over 2 years, every two weeks for a full body massage. With a medical history of rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia, since receiving routine massages, my steroid injections have been able to be cut down to 4 per year! The massage prices are excellent, especially on Tues and Thurs, being only $25. Kayla is my favorite therapist. She has excellent technique with the perfect amount of pressure. read more

If I could give less than one star I would. My friends and I booked a spa-day for a friend that was getting married as well as the bridal party. We paid to have the facility reserved for ourselves. In discussing options with the owner the spa was to be decorated with champagne and chocolates provided as well. Additionally, the owner promised to provide robes for a relaxing day.. well, it was everything but. Ultimately nothing was done as promised by the spa. We arrived and we're quickly ushered to a back room where the wedding party was abruptly split up. Four girls went for their massage first. The remaining four of us were advised to come back in an hour. The best part is an employee suggested we "check out Aldi" next door to "kill time." The bride, who booked an hour massage was given a half hour. My massage itself was sub-par and far from relaxing. During the massage the facility itself was loud; employees were heard laughing and carrying on. Furthermore at some point a K9 was clearly walking around inside. Great for those that have allergies . The owner eventually apologized saying he "promised" they always throw amazing parties / events. Needless to say the situation was not fully rectified and I won't be returning.
