Highly recommend Taylor and Essentials Salon!! We had a miscommunication with another salon that sent us scrambling last minute for my niece's 16th birthday, so we reached out to Essentials and Taylor saved the day! She was so welcome and sweet with our niece, it was amazing. You can tell she is great with people, and she really listened to my niece's preferences too. Not only were my niece's requests slightly complicated but we also had some legit time constraints to make it all happen. Taylor handled it all with such grace and her cut, color, and style came out beautifully! She even threw in some fades on the undercut. My niece walked away beaming and feeling great about herself, which was the icing on the birthday cake so to speak :) We will always go to back to Taylor here on out! Thank you again!! read more

Sarah was amazing! My granddaughter had a hair matting that seemed hopeless. All the ladies there were so helpful and kind in coming up with a plan. I am growing my hair out to donate it and have been looking for a long time to find someone I'd trust with it. Sadly I found it but she is 1500 miles from my home . I made an appointment and showed up a little early and she took me with no problems. Cara did a great job, was super personable and upbeat. She was also able to carry on a conversation with no awkward silence. I showed her a photo of what I was thinking, she asked a bunch of questions which made me comfortable enough to give her "creative freedom" and I was not let down at all. Essentials did hair and makeup for my wedding party, including myself, my bridesmaids, my flower girl, my mother, and my mother in law. I cannot say enough about how great these ladies were! I did a trial a few months before my wedding, and I knew I had made the right choice. For makeup, they did a great job at listening to my preferred makeup style (enhancing natural features, nothing super dramatic). When getting my makeup done, I always worry about not looking like myself, but they did an amazing job. The rest of my wedding party loved their makeup as well. They were incredibly flexible when it came to hair - I decided to change my style from my trial to my wedding day, and they pulled it off without a problem. Everyone was easy to work with, and their ability to look at pictures and turn it into reality astounds me! Nice place, good service but I wish someone would fix the sign. For over a year now all but three of the letters on the signage are not lit. Either fix the sign or turn the lights off. read more

Taylor and her staff are accommodating and professional. I've had blowouts, pedicures, and waxing done at this salon when I'm in town. I've always been pleased with the results. They're "young and hip ", yet at the same time, I can get my traditional, long bob done to my liking. I highly recommend Essentials. read more

i had the worst day ever. decided to change my hair up and get a cute fall balayage done. i've never been here and i don't have a personal stylist. like everyone else i went on google, searched salons near me, and looked at the reviews and pictures. Essentials was close and seemed to have good reviews. i called them and asked if they had any opening for this week and told them i was wanting a balayage done. they told me to come in the next day at 9am. i even asked them to write down my number to give it to the stylist that would be doing my hair so that i can reach out to her and send her what i want, instead of just coming in and her not knowing anything. she did text me and i told her what i wanted, found a very good picture of what i wanted and sent it to her, showed her what my hair looks like now, and specifically told her how i wanted it!! went in the next morning and met with Sara, my stylist, she was very nice. she looked at my hair and said that she would need to lighten some pieces to get the look. i figured some would need to be lightened so i said okay. she went back and came back with lightener. she put the lightener on THE ENTIRE BOTTOM HALF OF MY HAIR. ON EVERY SINGLE PIECE!! once she had put it all on i knew something wasn't going to look right. we rinsed it out and she toned it. washed it out and then i went back to the chair and was starting to freak out in my head. my hair was a very yellow color. she didnt say much during the process. she did have to go to the manager/owner, Taylor, and ask what she should do to get the "blonde". Taylor told her to lighten it again and tone it after that. Sara put my lightener on it, then toned it. her words were "it looks so much better, definitely the lighter blonde we were wanting". she sent me back to the chair and i looked at it and i couldn't help but look so bitchy. i stopped smiling and stopped talking at all. i knew it was messed up already. she said we're gonna do the dark roots now and blend it all. she did show me which color dark that i would like so i did choose that. she put it on, washed it out and then she was "done". after she dried it, barely, i started getting tears in my eyes i was the edge of a meltdown. i just wanted to get out of there. i was in that salon from 9am- 1:15pm. when i went up to the front desk to pay, Taylor was there also. they both knew that Sara fucked up on my hair and knew i was not happy with it. i couldn't even speak i was so upset. she made me pay $170. i did and left. as soon as i got in the car i started bawling. i called my mom and she said to try and go somewhere to get them to fix it. i was about to just cut it all off. when i got off the phone with my mom. i called Essentials. Sara answered and i asked to speak with Taylor. she said that she was with another client, and asked for my name. i wouldn't tell her, i just said that i needed to speak with Taylor. Taylor got on the phone, and at this point i was crying. i told her that i just left there and that Sara did my hair and i am not happy with it, it is not anything like what i wanted and what i showed her. i asked if she would give me a refund. Taylor told me they don't do refunds, then said its hard for her to know what we're we're going for. i told her to give me her number and i would send her the exact thing i told Sara that i wanted, and then what i got! Taylor said to send her the picture and then she would give me a call back later. after that i had to do something. i then found a place who did fix it, the best she could! it is still not AT ALL what i wanted, still looks like shit but, only so much i could do in one day. read more
