Bad company. I am a new watch enthusiast, buying and restoring vintage watches, so I buy a lot of crystals, pins and other materials , but I return many of them because they don't fit. It's just faster and cheaper to buy different sizes at one's than try them one by one, and sometimes it's hard to determine the right size , especially if the original part is missing. All items are returned in the same condition (Esslinger doesn't accept used), I pay return shipping, however, they just told me they will no longer accept returns due to excessive returns. Their returns policy doesn't say that the number of returns is limited, so they just made it up. I will not buy from this company again, there are many other sellers. read more

Just wanted to follow up with a review 2 years later - I still remember the poor service and the total BS around my return. I was able to re-sell the tools on ebay just fine and received a positive review for it. No idea why they would be so shady. I remember them asking me if I wanted the tools back after NOT giving me a refund!!!!! There is so many other companies to chose from - I hope you do avoid this one for your own sake. If something is wrong with your product - their word isn't worth anything and they will not reasonably give a refund. I hate business' that leave me feeling gross after dealing with them. I bought a watchband off of eBay and the clasp was absolutely horrible (the safety latch kept coming loose and the clasp size didn't match the size of the bracelet). Esslinger had a double deployment clasp in the perfect 16mm size for my bracelet for $5.95 and they shipped it out super fast! Just installed it and it's perfect for the price point! The first time shopping at Esslinger had been a horrible experience for me. In the 8 items I received, 4 of them are defective or has issues/problems right out of the box.(see my photos) I wrote an email on Feb 4th and was being nice about it and only told that two items are defective. One is the "German" caliper and the other is the XL adjustable Watch case Opener. Right off the bat, The caliper is bent on the spine and with scratches all over it.(see my pics) This seems like a nice caliper but were poorly stored. The case opener is worse, has scratches all over the body with chipped off burrs on the screws, which seems like how it was made poorly. The two arms also holds the rusty bits very loosely and the bits would just eventually fell off of it. One day after I emailed them about these problems, Brandon Skrypek from Esslinger replied and asked if i want either a refund or a replacement for the items that are defective, like it's gonna be an easy process, but then he asked me to take some pictures of the caliper showing the bent I was talking about. So I sent him the detailed pictures of the caliper showing the bent and the scratches I was talking about. Also to answered him to replace the caliper and refund the case opener. He replied saying that he'll process a refund for the Case Opener and there's no need to send the Case Opener back (like they already knew about the problem and they don't even wan it back), but as for the caliper, Brandon stated that it is "bend in them on purpose" and the way it was made and suggested me that I could bend it back straight! And also told me if I really want to return it, (noticed I asked for a replacement of the caliper, not returning the item), I'd have to submit an return request online first. Without further reading into Brandon's email at first, I just filed the online return request like Brandon mentioned thinking that I'll get a replacement. At the same time, I also emailed him (Feb 5th) additional pictures of the caliper for him to see this is not how it was made like him stated. No reply after 4 days, so I emailed him again (Feb. 9th) asking for the updates. He then replied that the process will take 3 more days (which I had already waited for 4 days!) and they'll refund both items ONLY when them receive the caliper!! I was shock to hear no words on the replacement like I am just returning them and if I were to just doing a simply return, there was no return label or even a notice saying how I should send the item back. This I asked in reply to Brandon. He then said they can't replace a non defective item and for return, I am responsible for the shipping the caliper back and they won't process any refund until I do so... Well long story short, stay the F$# away from buying on Esslinger.com read more

I ordered two items (a screwdriver set to remove links from a wristwatch bracelet and a jeweler's holding block - a device that will hold a watch band in place while you work on it). I messed up and did not notice that USPS incorrectly populated my shipping address when I filled out the shipping information. It got the house number and street correct, but not the city. Several days after I ordered the items I did not receive a tracking number so via email I asked them for it. They do not have a telephone number listed. I will never do business again with a company that does not list a phone number. The next day they sent me the tracking number. It was then I noticed it was going to the wrong city. I emailed them and asked why this was, and they showed me a copy of the mailing label they used and said this is what the order read. I asked them if the would PHONE me so they could redirect the item to the correct address and I would try and do the same. Another day went by, and they said they could not do anything until the item came back to them. This implies they would phone me once they received it back. Next thing I know is that they tell me they received it back and credited my PayPal account and if I wanted the item I would have to place the order again. NO THANKS. I asked that they phone me when they get it back so I could verbally tell them over the phone where to ship it. But they instead will never phone you. And the refund to my PayPal account is about $5 less than what I paid. Is is so difficult to phone someone. They guard their phone number like the gold inside Fort Know. Do not do business with this outfit. They offer no customer service. If I could have given them zero stars I would have. read more

I've had a great experience dealing with Esslinger. They have a great assortment of quality products at reasonable prices. Best of all I find their site very easy to navigate, just very well laid out, I like some other watch supply sites, Otto, cough, Frei, cough. Their customer service has been great to, helpful and courteous, unlike some other watch supply places, otto, cough, frei, cough. Only thing is one time it took a long time for delivery (3 weeks), but I think that was cause usps has been mess due to covid, trump and a winter storm. Usually they deliver within a week. My Wife ordered a Heavy Duty Demagnetizer/Magnetizer from Esslinger and paid extra so we would have it here in (3) Days USPS. It was ordered On 11-25-20 and we did not get it until today 12-09-20 When I sent a text to the Esslinger today asking them what they where going to do about this situation and I received a response from them stating they were not going to do anything about it! I purchased 2 crystals from them, 1 of which was fine, the other was supposed to be 30.3mm, according to the readings on my digital calipers it was 30.2mm. After this I informed them through email including pictures of the item with the measurements. My other crystal measured perfectly which is a rolex crystal that usually come by case size but for me to find that I had to measure it with calipers to track the case size. That diameter was supposed to be 29.1mm, which came out fine. They ended up, after a bit of back and forth, that the mistake made was on my end and the product they sent was in fact the correct one. They informed me there was nothing they would do, and I would have to return the item for a refund, and then repay shipping for a new one. They also told me that they dont even make a 30.2mm, and conveniently it is pretty much the only size not listed on there increment chart. So now either my calipers are off, or they had a defected crystal. Since my calipers have worked for me before, I will take my own side, and Esslinger is free to assume no responsibility. I as a customer though, have the freedom and responsibility to make public my dealing with them, and so I will. Now $4 shipping on a $4 crystal is not much, and I will have to end up doing this and getting a new one. But the whole back and forth was very unsatisfactory for me as a customer. And now also unsure that if I order a bit larger to be safe and if it actually comes too large then that's more $ wasted. read more

I bought a watch band on there web site, they sent out a defective product I called and asked for a refund they were nice dag refunded the price of the band however the cost of postage both directions I had to cover. In other words I spent almost as much on postage as the band cost and have nothing to show for my money. This is not a place to do mail order or web business in my opinion. I would like to say that the employees were very polite and tried to help with in there limitations. I love using Esslinger; and I use a lot of different suppliers for clocks, watches, and jewelry. They are a great watch and jewelry material supplier, and have mostly what you need. I would absolutely 100% recommend this company to any individual who is getting started in jewelry and watchmaking; they simply cannot be beat. Price comparison between Esslinger and other major suppliers usually wins in their favor. Their Crystals, gaskets, batteries, band parts, etc; all are under the price of other major suppliers. They are definitely not my go-to for anything to do with clockmaking; but to be fair they aren't really known for that. One thing I really - really - love about Esslinger is how they offer top of the line Bergeon products as well as their cheaper counterparts. However (big however), their cheaper counterparts are nothing to turn your nose up at. I've noticed that most things Esslinger stocks are quality items, even if they are the cheap Chinese knockoff. Fact is, some tools simply do not require to be high-precision or high-quality; and it is obvious that Esslinger recognizes this fact, and sells the cheaper items to draw in more business. But this doesn't make the tools they sell "junk," it simply means they sell cheaper items that perform just as you need them to. Shipping and Handling is always reasonable, and surprisingly fast. read more

DON'T buy their batteries. I received mine in an opened blister-pack and it was dead. I contacted them via phone 5 minutes after receiving the package and was told that batteries were not returnable. I asked that the battery be replaced via Next Day Air because I had received it in an opened package. I had to provide pictures to verify the package was open before they would consider if they would replace it or not. I finally got a response to my email that stated; "We sell thousands of batteries and NEVER have any problems". At the end of more excuses they offered to send a new battery via the Post Office or refund my $.90 purchase price. Now I have an option of waiting a week for the new battery or pay another company shipping & handling charges to send the $.90 replacement. Poor customer service. Lost a customer and I will never refer them to anyone else. read more

Since all their individual bands are sold with springs, they had to take the time to remove the springs before mailing. Nothing was mentioned online about the condition of the bands. Well I'd love to write a review to the bergeon loupe I purchased from Esslinger.com, however, I never received it. The mail says it was delivered, Esslinger says if the mail said it's delivered then they can't do anything in the way of a refund or sending another loupe. Im rightly upset that both the post office and Esslinger are just folding their arms and saying "tough luck schmuck." Now I could stop using USPS but that would be impractical...upset as I am I have to do something, so for the loss of a $24 loupe I'll never be shopping from Esslinger again. Horrible company to work with. I ordered a magnifier crystal for my watch. I received my order, only to find out my crystal wasn't in there. They told me that I needed to check the envelopes very carefully, which I did at least 12 times. Be careful using this outfit. I ordered a watch gasket. On their site they showed individual Seiko gaskets in the Seiko Company packaging. What I received was a generic gasket in a small bag; not one in Seiko packaging. Plus the gasket was not the correct one. I returned the item; but they would not refund S/H even though they had not shipped the correct item and the item was not as advertised on their web site. read more
