He looked at it and said that he can get it done within 20-30 minutes and shared the cost upfront which surprisingly was very reasonable compared to what I thought it would cost. And long behold, he sure did fix it within 30 minutes. He shared pics of the work performed also, again skilled and honest! I will definitely be recommending people to him as he just does not do jewelry and watch repairs but also sells some pretty nice jewelry and watches. I brought in a ring because I have spent years trying to solve the mystery of its maker's mark, probably over 100 hours. I asked the staff 4 or five separate times to please make sure the maker's mark was researched and identified, my understanding is this is what I was paying for and the assistant said "we will research it and it should be ready by Friday (dropped off 10am Tuesday) . I was quoted $300 for a standard turnaround, but because I didn't want to waste any more time, I paid a $400 rush fee to get answers by Friday. What did my $400 get me? Absolutely ZERO information. I am convinced the gemologist spent less than 10 minutes on my ring. Not only did they completely ignore my repeated requests to research the maker's mark, but they also failed to identify the most basic elements of the jewelry: * No metal identification (even though it has tested out as sterling silver twice before). * No stone carat size listed at all, measurement don't help me. It feels like because my ring didn't say "Tiffany" or "Cartier," this business decided it wasn't worthy of their time or professional effort. If it isn't an expensive luxury brand, they have ZERO respect for it. I am a "dog with a bone" when it comes to solving mysteries, and I will find the answers myself. But save yourself the headache, the time, and the $400. If your jewelry matters to you--whether it's Tiffany or from Avon--take it to an appraiser who actually cares about their customers and knows how to do their job. Avoid this place at all costs!
