The folks at Estabrooks are amazing - always available to help without being overly annoying. They have tons of different plants to offer, and the plants are divided up well into annuals, herbs, sun/shade, etc. so that I can always find what I'm looking for without having to mill about the entire space. I find their prices to be reasonable and they have sales and deals all the time, which is nice for anyone especially those of us who love to garden! It's also fantastic that they are open 7 days a week, so I can always run in and grab what I need - very convenient. I do 90% of my plant shopping here and recommend them to everyone. read more

Almost all of the bulbs and plants I have bought from Estabrook have died. I decided last year to tell one of the nice cashiers, who redirected me to a woman who seemed to be in charge. She didn't offer recompense. She didn't care. I told her that I had been advised to go elsewhere. She said okay. Wow. read more

I've done business with Estabrooks for the last 5 years. I've been mostly satisfied with the plants I bought. I bought 3 false cypress shrubs several years ago and in spite of everything I did, they did not grow well. This year I went to get 3 hanging plants for my covered porch. I was directed to a green house and picked 3 plants. On the 2nd day, the plants started turning brown on one side. I put them in the sun to see if I was directed to shade plants by the sales person. The plants started to bounce back in the sun. Aiden at Estabrooks refused to refund my $84.00 and did not offer me any other compensation. They should stand behind their plants and their employees should provide accurate info. I will ship at O'Donals from now on. They value me as a customer. read more

I love Estabrook's! All of the staff is helpful and have a passion for what they do. In particular, Kerry, was a godsend. She helped this novice gardener, design my entire property. Kerry went above and beyond to make sure that I knew exactly how to care for each plant and never rushed me. I have hesitated to write a critical review because I want local businesses to do well. But as I look at the tiny perennial garden I put in two seasons ago, with design and plants and even a professional recommended by Kerry to install them correctly, half didn't make it. Maybe the plants weren't vibrant (bought on sale in September) or I failed to nurture them, or the ice was too brutal, who knows? I regret spending a couple of thousand dollars naively thinking a professional would be able to assure an easy garden for a non gardener. I think it's a lesson learned. The plants I have bought since, to fill in, have done better than my "designed" garden. Even some annuals have come back. I called last year to ask why half the plants died but never heard back. I now buy my flowers and plants at a farm in a neighboring town. read more

I bought 2 hanging fuchsias and they died before they were 2 weeks old. $60 wasted.

I asked a clerk if they offer a military discount. Lowes ...Home Depot... any business today offers a 10% off to veterans. She said yes. With my cart filled with over 300 in plants... the manager told me we do not offer a discount and was rather rude about it... not like Im so sorry sir I wish we could. Was a 30.00 discount really worth not giving back... I don't think so. Plenty of other garden shops to support who buy the way are allot less expensive read more

I bought a beautiful fountain from Estabrook's years ago and I still love the trickling water sound in front yard. The neighbors love it too. Every time I stop by Estabrook's, their plants look amazing and well cared for. The plants look so good, it's hard not to buy something! read more

The Manager BOASTED about their plant guarantee. Well, I brought back one $14 plant that completely died and the Manager rudely said, "NO. This plant is dry & dead. You must've let it dry out." I explained the plant was watered twice per day via an in-ground Auto-SPRINKLER system. He proceeded to lecture me that I shouldn't be watering my lawn 2x per day!?!?! I walked out w/out buying the $125 cherry tree I also came there to buy. A $14 plant now has cost them thousands in my future business! The Manager should be fired! He clearly is miserable and the common denominator in all of the poor online reviews for Kennebunk. I purchased the rest of the year's landscaping at various competitors. Funny, the Estabrook's $14 plant was the ONLY plant that died out of the hundreds purchased last year. read more

Called Estabrook's about a perennial that did not survive from last spring and the lady looked up my record and stated that today was the 1 year anniversary and to come down and get it exchanged. I drove down to Estabrook to find out from another person (manager ?) that they only guarantee their perennials during the season. Ended up being a wasted trip and they have lost a customer. read more
