They took their time, were very thorough, and made sure all of my questions were answered. Dr. Barnum spent at least 30 minutes with me--going over my history, chatting about my concerns, and making sure I knew all of the ins and outs of making decisions in regards to my dental health. I have never had a dentist be so very thorough! Turned out I needed a dental procedure that he didn't feel 100% comfortable performing, so he referred me to the specialist he felt would best be suited to my needs. I thought this was so impressive! He isn't worried about getting more money out of anyone--he just wants what is best for you, the patient. Compassionate Care is a very fitting name for this dental office!

I finally got my crown replaced (at another dentist office) so I thought I would finally write about my experience, especially since my new dentist has made this such a pleasant experience. I was looking for a new dentist that took my insurance and came across this place. From my first visit to last visit every appt was unenjoyable. From the sketchy stairs, pee smelled elevator, office gossip, I do NOT recommend going here. Also the fact that they say they're a "Holistic" dentist but they're not. The receptionist started by giving me another patients info (total HIPAA violation). The dental assistant Mary was discussing workplace annoyances to me. My first appt was getting my temporary crown placed. While in the parking lot leaving, my temp crown fell out and was loose in my mouth. I was so shocked, not once was it mentioned that was a possibility, not to mention the possible choking hazard. I went back in to let them know and they treated it so nonchalant. I came back 2 weeks later to have my permanent crown seated. The crown was done so poorly. The shape should have 4 mounds, and was almost completely smooth. The height was also taller than my other teeth which messed up my bite. I mentioned that I didn't like the shape and it felt uncomfortable, so Dr Flath tried fixing the shape, which he then made worse, and shortened the side close to my gums. Then told me there was nothing he could do because the crown was too short now. I struggle going to the dentist so I found it hard to speak up and demand they replace the crown, especially because they kept dismissing me and saying "I had to deal with it". I went to my new dentist and they had said what an awful job was done. So I called Bravo Smile and told them I got a second opinion, that my dentist said the crown was cracking, causing inflammation, and had a void. Which shouldn't be happening in a year. Bravo Smile was not helpful in the slightest. I mostly spoke with Mary and she threatened me and hung up on me. So I was not able to get a refund and had to pay to get a new crown done in under 3 years. Anyway if you stayed to read my story, thank you, just wanted to give a warning of this place. Definitely do not recommend.

I find Dr. Ressler through, attentive and very professional. She has excellent "chair-side manner" and has taken the time to address my concerns and questions. If you have a question regarding cost she is more than happy to let you know what was covered by insurance - you just need to ask. I plan on having my smile for the rest of my life! Dr. Hansen has a fantastic sense of humor that keeps you at ease during your visit and you can tell that everyone in the office get along great and are comfortable with each other. I've had a couple emergency type situations come up over the years and when I've called to make an appointment they have never made me wait. I've been brought right in and you can tell the doctor truly cares about what's going on and wants to get your teeth feeling better. I called yesterday with a tiny, but very sharp and annoying chip in a tooth, and they were able to fit me in today for a quick visit to smooth the edges before the holiday so I didn't have to deal with the discomfort while I was out-of-state! Boring things and Yelp ratings are usually inversely correlated. However, that's not the case with…read moredental office visits. I want my visits to the dental office to be boring, as well as the invoices from said visits. Dr. Bianco's practice at Dental Health Associates was recommended by someone who knew him as an acquaintance and had a good opinion of him. I have been to Dental Health Associates's office at least 10 times on a semiannual basis and I like being able to count on the same routine - a cleaning by the hygienist, an examination by the dentist, and x-rays every other time. Each experience has put me at ease because everyone is friendly and informal in an unscripted way. The hygienists have always honored my request for the dental scaler that operates under water pressure and then finished up and touched up with the manual instruments in addition to flossing and polishing. This feels way better to me. (I actually look forward to going to my appointments because hygienists clean your teeth in a way that the patient can't on their own.) The doctor has a lot of experience, is very easy to talk to, and, echoing what others have said, is conservative in his approach. The front office staff is quick to answer your questions and to process things. Also, the office has a pleasant physical environment - from the dental stations themselves to the waiting room. Located on S.E. 122nd Ave. south of the big Midland library and near all the auto dealerships on "Ron Tonkin Blvd.," dental practices being located here (and quite a few are) makes sense because it makes them accessible from Portland, east Portland, and East County ... and from up at the river (the Columbia River) down to North Clackamas County. There is an amply sized parking lot behind the office as well. I don't give health practitioners 5 stars (as good as it gets) because there are too many variables as well as procedures you may not have required or experienced and can't vouch for. So, for health practitioners, I view it as a maximum of 4 out of 4 stars situation and, in Yelp parlance, that means I'm a fan. Of the various driveways next to one story dental office buildings on S.E. 122nd Ave., I have found that the driveway at Dr. Bianco's Dental Health Associates has proven to be a good driveway to turn into for my dental needs.
