From the moment we contacted Margo months before our trip until we returned home, every email, inquiry, question, etc. was responded to in a timely fashion with very useful tidbits of information about our trip. There is no way we could have been as organized or packed as much into our short stay in Barcelona as we did without Margo's assistance. We initially contacted Margo to arrange a bike tour, but she provided many additional recommendations for restaurants, sites and stops along the way, all of which turned out to be great. Her personalized approach to customizing our experience really set Hi. This is Barcelona... apart from other tour groups. The day after our arrival, we spent the entire day on a bike tour of Barcelona. We had told Margo that we wanted to see as much of Barcelona as possible in a day, and our expectations were far exceeded. Our local guide, Angel, was born and raised in Barcelona. Angel was delighted to share his knowledge of and passion for Barcelona in a way that made us feel like locals. We made our way along the port area, up Montjuic, crossed the city towards La Sagrada Familia, then headed towards the Olympic Village and back along the coastal beaches. Throughout our voyage, Angel deftly guided us through the city streets as he pointed out historic landmarks, various neighborhoods and their features, architectural influences and many other significant tidbits of information that would have otherwise gone totally unnoticed and unappreciated without him. Even after the tour was over, Angel accompanied us back to our hotel and gave us recommendations for our continued adventure up the Catalan coast. His recommendations led to some the most memorable experiences of our trip. If you want to truly feel like a VIP in Barcelona, then Hi. This is Barcelona... is for you!!

Jordan was very communicative leading up to the trip and helped plan three lovely, guided days throughout the city as well as a side trip to Sitges. My parents and I loved our time with Zaida and Silvia who were incredibly knowledgeable and took great care getting us to so many of the city's beautiful sites, including introducing us to restaurants off the beaten path. Having said that, the wine we tasted was quite good as well. This is estate wine where all the grapes are from the vineyards that surround the castle. As these grapes are only found in Spain and the estate does not ship outside of the country, this tasting experience offers foreigners a unique opportunity to taste wines you will not find anywhere else but here. Nice! Being a bit of a wine snob I am always looking for opportunities like this and this and Oller del Mas definitely fit the bill, castle and all!! When the confirmation came in, it looked like the same tour name, Gothic, but when I checked in for the 9am tour, it was clarified that the 3pm tour would be different, Gaudi Modernism. Reservations online were quick and easy. It costs 3 euro to hold a spot. I gladly paid the 6 euro for both. I took the 9am Gothic Tour on a Monday. So many people booked they called an extra guide. Many showed up without a reservation. There were three guides and we broke into three large groups. Juliana was great. She was little and didn't have an umbrella; we very temporarily lost her twice! But her knowledge and enthusiasm more than made up for it! She was also very personable. I highly recommend her! Natalia gave the Gaudi tour at 3pm. She was also extremely knowledgeable and patient; our tour involved getting the group on and off a metro to Familia Sagada. Would welcome her as a tour guide again. As per the custom, you decide the cost at the end. They took my dollars and euros. I highly recommend these tours!!!!

Second, great tour. We learned about the terroir- the soil, the atmosphere, how the cover crops help with the soil. The biodynamic principals of the winery mean they not only are organic, and use organic manure and special herbs in their compost (as well as cattle horns) but they also plant, and trim vines and harvest according to the phases of the moon. We tasted a cava, a white called cosmic- 10 euros, a red called Indigena (2013)- 10 Euros, and a red called Mas Irene (2014)- 16 Euros. They were all delicious. But I ALSO tried Music- a white dessert wine, with lots of honey notes, and raisin, but not syrupy at all- it was so good (21.50 euros) that I bought 2 bottles of that, 1 of Indigena, and 4 bottles of honey (5 euros each)- and they said the honey was from their own hives and was rosemary honey. It was very good. You can try it if you ask. Their olive oil is also fabulous- but you've got limits on how much you can carry home, so I had to pace myself. For the tasting we were given crackers and cheese and sliced sausage. We also got some bread to dip in the olive oil at the end of the tasting. The tasting room is lovely, and there is a gorgeous outdoor seating area. The story of the family is fascinating, and if you are in Spain, and you have the chance to go here- take it! I'm from the SF Bay Area like the other reviewer, and I'm a member of many wineries and I've worked at the wineries as a pourer (because who doesn't want to be paid in wine?) And I loved this place. I thought it might be too much of the same thing- that I'm used to at home, but not at all. If you are disabled, you will NOT be able to go to the cava caves via the steps. I'm mildly disabled and I opted not to do them- a lot of rather dark, narrow steps.

The tour itself was educational and fascinating - from previewing their wines, visiting the fields, composting area, barrel storage, cellars, and finally the tasting room! We tasted a white cava, a rose, and then a red wine. Pairings went with crackers, Machego Cheese, or dried salami. We also sampled their olive oil. Our gorgeous wine host gave lots of tips on serving wine and meals. She mentioned a very good snack is to dip bread in high-quality EVOO, add salt, and then grated dark chocolate. Both itineraries were excellent, and we could choose modifications to our itinerary and how long to stay in various spots. We had 4 people, and one had limited walking ability. The ride was beautiful as we came closer to Montserrat, the basilica was phenomenal, the market was amazing. I ended up purchasing two delicious cheeses - goat and truffle. The walk to the cross was challenging as we had limited time but well worth it. It's an uphill climb. I loved the family history of the winery. The stability of the family to keep the property in the family for 36 generations since 964 was incredible. The vineyards were started in the 1800's. The ambience was perfect with stone cellars and towers. Great place for an event. Loved it! If you go to Barcelona, DON'T miss it!
