Setting: My husband and I were looking for a Barcelona tour to do in our first day in the city as we wanted to get an understanding of the history and culture of Barcelona. We searched online and stumbled upon Barcelona Day Tours as they are very highly rated on Trip Advisor. We ended up booking their tour and not other tour companies for the following reasons: 1. Our experience with booking tours with third party companies like TripAdvisor and Viator have been pretty hit or miss 2. They are a family owned company that you can book a tour directly on their website (https://barcelonadaytours.com/about-us/) 3. They are very transparent in their communication and pricing. Before I booked the tour, I emailed them and they were very quick and thorough with their response. 4. Very flexible cancellation policy 5. Prices were much cheaper compared to all the other tour groups Tour: We booked the half day tour from 9am to 1pm and added on skip-the-line access to Park Guell. We also paid extra for La Sagrada Familia tickets to do on our own at the end. We wanted a smaller group so the maximum people in the party was 12 people. They picked us up at the hotel, which was super convenient as we were recovering from jet lag so it allowed us to sleep in. Our tour guide, Elena, was a Barcelona native so was incredibly knowledgable about the city. Her English was also very good and spoke clearly and loudly - very easy to understand. She was very funny and presented all of the history of Barcelona in a very relatable way. She was well-prepared, professional, and personable. The timing of the trip and the organization was spot on. We stopped at a few major points: 1. National Museum of Art - an impressive site with great views (took pictures) 2. Park Guell - a lot of own time was spent here which was awesome because this was our favorite place in Barcelona 3. La Sagrada Familia There were many other POIs that we didn't necessary stop at but we drive by and discussed. I preferred this as it would've been exhausting to stop by every POI and get off the bus. They also offered free water on the bus. They do not provide food (this is clear in the tour description) but the tour finishes early enough for you to grab lunch on your own at the end. They also provide food recommendations! One of the things we liked the most was that Elena would know exactly when to stop for the best photo opportunities. She fought off the crowds so that she could take pictures for everyone in the group! Value: As I said earlier in the post, this was one of the most affordable tour groups that I could find. Also I think it is cheaper if you book directly on their website (69 euros vs 89 dollars on tripadvisor). We added on the skip the line at Park Guell and also the La Sagrada Familia entry so it was a little bit more expensive, BUT, well worth it. Otherwise we would've had to book those separately, which is a hassle in itself because those need to be reserved in advance. Service: One of the best parts of this company was their service. From the very beginning, when we sent them an email asking questions, to even after our tour, they were committed to the best customer service. Their responses were prompt and detailed. They were personable and eager to make sure we had a great experience. Other: I would highly recommend this company for an introduction to Barcelona. They set the tone for the rest of our time in Barcelona!

What a great tour and your guide...highly recommended. Joao did A great job getting around some closed up streets because a marathon was being performed the day we took our tour. We didn't miss anything and he took us to the best empanada shop I've ever had.

Highly recommend to try Barcelona day tour if you would love to see Barcelona and are short on time. Everything from the moment I booked the tour went very smoothly and they communicated very easily by email. I love that they picked us up right on time out front our hotel and we ended the day at sagrada familia where we attended the inside tour on our own in which they had already obtained our tickets for. The whole day was jammed pack of fun! next trip to Barcelona I Will surely use this company again.

From arriving in Barcelona until the bus dropped us at out hotel, it was a wonderful time with Barcelona Day Tours! We were picked up at the cruise port and met with our small group and tour leader Elena. The communication could not have been better! From asking questions before booking and all the way through to the day of the tour and beyond - they kept in contact and were very available to answer any questions we might have. Elena was fun and informative and made the tour pretty special. It was obvious she has a heart and passion for sharing the love of her country and this area. It really brought history and the area to life. She was able to adjust to our weather - which was rain in the start, to where we still saw everything and yet did not get drenched. She gave the perfect amount of information vs. time to just look and take things in quietly. She provided extra information to each of us on good places to eat around where we were staying and gave great insight to the local favorites. Our driver was top notch also! We moved around and through town without any issues at all. From all four corners of the compass in Barcelona, Barcelona Day Tours was the best! We would highly recommend for anyone visiting Barcelona.

From the moment we contacted Margo months before our trip until we returned home, every email, inquiry, question, etc. was responded to in a timely fashion with very useful tidbits of information about our trip. There is no way we could have been as organized or packed as much into our short stay in Barcelona as we did without Margo's assistance. We initially contacted Margo to arrange a bike tour, but she provided many additional recommendations for restaurants, sites and stops along the way, all of which turned out to be great. Her personalized approach to customizing our experience really set Hi. This is Barcelona... apart from other tour groups. The day after our arrival, we spent the entire day on a bike tour of Barcelona. We had told Margo that we wanted to see as much of Barcelona as possible in a day, and our expectations were far exceeded. Our local guide, Angel, was born and raised in Barcelona. Angel was delighted to share his knowledge of and passion for Barcelona in a way that made us feel like locals. We made our way along the port area, up Montjuic, crossed the city towards La Sagrada Familia, then headed towards the Olympic Village and back along the coastal beaches. Throughout our voyage, Angel deftly guided us through the city streets as he pointed out historic landmarks, various neighborhoods and their features, architectural influences and many other significant tidbits of information that would have otherwise gone totally unnoticed and unappreciated without him. Even after the tour was over, Angel accompanied us back to our hotel and gave us recommendations for our continued adventure up the Catalan coast. His recommendations led to some the most memorable experiences of our trip. If you want to truly feel like a VIP in Barcelona, then Hi. This is Barcelona... is for you!!

Taxis aren't very common in Barcelona and while we did use the subway system a lot, Barcelona Bus Turístic was our main source for traveling around, which was our main reason for using this company, especially because our hotel was one of the stops along the way, which was fantastic. Barcelona Bus Turístic was typically on time to each stop. The drivers were safe and the staff were very kind. There was an instance where we were in line for a very long time and they cancelled a line which made things worrisome on how to get back to the hotel but it all worked out (our hotel was on a very steep mile+ incline). We loved the option to be able to listen to automated tour guide and learn about the city during the drive. The sound quality was decent and we were able to hear clearly. Many showed up without a reservation. There were three guides and we broke into three large groups. Juliana was great. She was little and didn't have an umbrella; we very temporarily lost her twice! But her knowledge and enthusiasm more than made up for it! She was also very personable. I highly recommend her! Natalia gave the Gaudi tour at 3pm. She was also extremely knowledgeable and patient; our tour involved getting the group on and off a metro to Familia Sagada. Would welcome her as a tour guide again.
