Food was horrible For a high end restaurant the service was mediocre, server made a mistake and didn't even apologize, and to make things worse when the correct order came in it was un-eatable. I was charged an outrageous amount even though We didn't eat the plate. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. read more

It doesn't really look like much when you're walking by, but this place was very romantic. The decorations were very ornate. The food was very tasty and I had one of the best pastas I've ever eaten (shrimp Alfredo). They also gave us a complementary appetizer. We will definitely be back next time we are in town. read more

I thought this place was good, but fell short of great. Came in with a few friends and was excited once we saw the wood-fire grill. Definitely a good place for steaks but pick your cut carefully. I went with the Picana, a brazilian cut but it wasn't marked as one of their recommended cuts on the menu. It was cooked perfectly but didn't taste like a great quality meat. I feel I should have chosen a different cut, so that's on me. The empanadas were absolutely great, highly recommend the octopus one. Had a small complaint when ordering wine, we asked for a type of wine and they brought out a bottle, turns out it was a couple hundred USD after asking. We asked for their other options and, look at that, there's a $15 USD option they didn't bring out. Kind of felt like they were trying to pull a fast one on us. read more

We had a great dinner here. Empanadas we're great, pasta, and everything we ordered. Great atmosphere. We had a party of eight and we all enjoyed our meal & our stay. They had a woman there playing the cello during our meal & it was also very nice. read more

We were a group of nine and our meal experience varied. The place is very nice, quiet and spacious. The staff is pleasant and responsive. The menus however are the QR code sort that requires a cell phone, some finagling to load and then difficult bordering on impossible to read when finally loaded. This a definitely a huge minus right off the bat. On request after a frustrating time trying to obtain and then read the menu on phones we were provided with two well-used paper menus which we shared around and which allowed us to see better what is available. It is quite a large menu and the prices are on the higher end of the scale. Some of us ordered large cuts of meat and were quite happy with the meal but those four of us who were not very hungry and ordered a burger all agreed that the burgers were disappointing and none of us finished them. Personally, I pronounced this burger to be the worst burger I have had in Mexico and it was about twice the price of the best I've had here. The buns were burned on the bottom and the meat, although a generous portion of good quality, was over -salted and over-cooked even when ordered as 'medium'. The accompanying fries seemed to be of the soggy frozen sort. We went to Estancia Uruguana to have a good evening and we did. The place is quiet enough for conversation, the décor is nice, the staff are attentive and some of the meals were good. I'd say you could do much much worse than Estancia Uruguana. Just don't order a burger. read more

This place is solid. Chef cooking the steaks is a legend, he really knows how to cook the meat juicy with an amazing crust. Beef quality was impressive as well. I tried the Pulpon as you'll find a ribeye anywhere esp if you are from the US. I was very happy with my choice. read more

We were a group of eight that arrived for our dinner reservation last night. We had reviewed their menu on line before we went. They offer a special for six people priced around 2,600 pesos. The actual price was higher than what they had posted on line which probably was an older version. No big deal so far. We order the special a long with drinks. We are not into large portions so we felt that a special menu item for 6 would be sufficient and we could order some additional food if needed. The Special included an array of offerings and we generally reviewed what we would receive. After placing our order, the waiter arrives at the table with 3 large trays of meat. He asked if we wanted a kilo and kilo y media of each. They were so large I think we asked for about a kilo. The pieces of meat were described as rib eye, picana and tomahawk. The meat was not very tender. It was stringy and difficult to cut. It had good flavor because I think the crust was well salted. The sides were mushrooms, peppers and sliced zucchini. They were well prepared. The soup to start the meal was very good. The desserts we had were scrumptious. When the check arrived we discovered that the Special really is their way of using a classic bait and switch. We were charged for the Special and I individually for those separate cuts of beef. As I stated. that were huge and not the best quality. We were charged approximately $200. US dollars for that meat. Nothing was ever said about an extra charge. We were also charged for the chorizo sausage and that was described as being included. This restaurant doesn't do justice to the other fine restaurants in La Paz our Uruguay. If you go, stick with individual menu items and stay away from any of their specials. read more

For our last night in La Paz we decided to splurge and have a fancy meat-filled dinner. This place was great from start to finish. They had a nice selection of wines to choose from- a few Uruguayan, but most from Baja's wine country, Valle De Guadalupe. My partner and I split a delicious bottle of wine from Valle and the two person grilled meat dinner which came with an appetizer of queso fundido and bread. All the meats were delicious, cooked to order, and their chimichurri sauces were great. Ambience was classy/rustic with indoor and patio seating. Service was wonderful, food came out with good timing. Total cost for two was around 1400 pesos, or 70 dollars, which compared to what you'd spend in the US was a steal, but of course, more than you might normally spend on dinner in Baja. For us the meal was worth it, and we were completely satisfied. Great little restaurant, tucked a bit away from the central bars and pubs but easy walking distance from the city center. Okay, so I don't often give 5 stars, but this place deserved it, flat out. A very nice centrally located building with ample street parking. We arrived around 7:15 and were immediately welcomed by the hosts and I think one of the owners. We were shown to our table with beautiful settings in a very well designed room. With exposed brick corner accents and vivid colors it set a very nice relaxing mood. After sitting and being brought water, the waiter showed us their cuts of meats and explained some of the more popular meals. We chose the meat trio which they grill in the back of the restaurant. You can choose to sit in the back and watch them cook your meal if you'd like. We enjoyed the queso and a salad while we waited. Bread came which we enjoyed with a trio of salsas and toppings. It was early Friday morning and we were one of the first customers so we enjoyed a good conversation. The meat plate comes after maybe 15-20 minutes and my oh my was I amazed. All cooked to a perfect medium. it comes served on a cutting board and looks like it has been resting properly and I am right when I cut into it. Wonderfully seasoned and grilled to perfection, the juice and flavors popped in my mouth. I particularly enjoyed the chorizo which they make on site I believe. With a nice deep red, the meat paired perfectly and I was very satisfied. We stayed and relaxed and ate for an hour and a half. Couldn't of had a better meal in amore relaxed atmosphere. The prices I feel, matched the meal. You pay for what you get for, and the appetizers, wine and main course was spot on for what I was expecting. Dinner was 1100 pesos which would've easily been 150$ in the states. the waiter was impeccable in his service and our needs so I left him a hefty 350peso tip. If you are looking for good steak, come here, \hands down. I know a lot of the places on the boardwalk have a better view, but for the service and quality of meal, you'll want to come here. last night in la paz and i am so glad we came to this lovely establishment! food was excellent, staff was attentive and very nice (and not bothersome).the menu is in spanish so we did our best navigating the menu and made great choices. the meat was grilled to perfection and i couldn't have been more pleased. we came at 5:30 and left around 8:30...enjoyed every moment. read more

We went here with high hopes my wife and I . When we arrived we were the only people in the restaurant we were seated and proceeded to receive a menu that was extremely high priced but we heard this was the best so my wife ordered beef brochette and I ordered a pasta dish on their house special dish. We waited 90 minutes for our meal never seeing the waiter only people in the restaurant and when finally served my pasta dish was cold and undercooked my wife's beef dish(which she asked for medium was raw and cold) still no waiter and still no other people in the restaurant. When the bill showed up it was over 700 pesos with no liquor (one coke one bottled water). I received the check and there credit card machine didn't work so I paid cash I left a 50 peso tip and the waiter looked on like I had insulted him( he was lucky he got that!) I will never go here again I could have got 2 different restaurants excellent meals for what I paid for 1 lousy one. read more
