We enjoyed a late dinner at Mariscos El Molinito and ordered a "coctel de camaron" which was the best I've ever had. I didn't see the need to add anything to make it taste good WOW! OH and the amount of fresh shrimp in it was insane!! I usually have to search and search for the few pieces of shrimp back home in CALI, but not here!! My hubby ordered the steak, breaded shrimp and clam combination plate, and he enjoyed it. My son ordered the Marlin and the shrimp empanadas and shared some with me. We both enjoyed the empanadas but they were as good as we hoped they'd be. I would say that this place was one I would return for the coctel de camaron, but not sure about the rest of the food.

I've eaten at El Molinitos many a times with family and friends. It has been one of my go-to seafood restaurants on the malecon area. I remember the restaurant in its earlier "palapa" days and now with their second story and front expansion, one would never believe El Molinitos was a palapa. Change is good. Besides the spacious open setting interior, there's also lots of parking in the back of the restaurant. It was near closing time when we arrived. Ourselves and other customers (upstairs) were about the only ones Donna was our server. No complaints from my traveling group and I. However, wish Donna could have warned us about the albondigas soup taking longer than the other dishes. The group had already received their food; the soup finally arrived 30 minutes later. El Molinitos has never disappointed, simply satisfied on each visit. I don't recall portioning being skimped. If anything, left-overs are taken home. To add, food price will not break your pocket book. Perhaps, one day, they will be able to offer taste-worthy and a larger selection of desserts. Overall experience at El Molinitos was a good one. We plan to return the next time we visit La Paz. Give El Molinitos a try.

The first meal in mexico I won't be finishing ;P food was half warm/cold , Otherwise, service was pretty good and view was nice, minus the vehicles UPDATE: I originally gave 2 stars... there is a sign posted that says that the staff shouldn't ask for tips, if they do then to let the front know and they would give 10-20% off or something.... After being charged and leaving a small tip after the pretty bad food we had, the waiter asked if we'd leave a tip although we already had done so ! Whatever, 6/7 of our group did not enjoy their meals and wanted to just leave and never return, which is what we did.

Great food and ambiance. Seafood had a fresh taste. We ordered various dishes and none of them disappointed. Our favorite was the ceviche and pulpo(octopus) dinner plate.

A nice beachy casual seafood restaurant. Ambience: 4 Great casual beach restaurant, open, breezy, views of the water across the highway. Food: 3. Their food is very good but not any better than other places in town. Their ceviche was delicious. The seafood is fresh and caught locally. The chile relleno was only average. The batter was way to much and very greasy; I had to cut away a lot and wound up surprised as to how much batter they had used. The portion was very generous, but I have had much better chile rellenos. If I returned I would stick to the seafood. The salsa and chips were very good. Service: 2 Very slow, non attentive, no one bothered to offer a refill or a second drink. We had to try to get their attention when we needed something. Prices: 5 excellent prices but no better than other places in town Cleanliness: 3. Average. Some room for improvement. Since it's open to the outside there were birds who came to beg and a few flies we had to shoo away. Parking: 5. One of the few few places with their own parking lot (unpaved). Overall it's a good restaurant and worthy of consideration. But there is room for improvement and nicer options closer to the main part of town.

Bar area second floor, great view!

Se come súper rico! Edgar nos brindó un súper servicio! Y tiene una vista preciosa hacia el mar.

Food was good, service wasn't that great but I don't know if it had to do with us arriving until 9pm, but we did have reservations. I'm still not making excuses for them. I tried the pulpo (octopus) zarandiado it was very soft and good. The ambiance was chill only a couple of families. The terrace has beautiful views. They don't have a great kids menu FYI. My kids didn't eat any of the cheese Sticks. Over all good Not Great.

Had the best carne asada tacos here, even though they weren't on the menu, they happily obliged. . The margaritas are on point and the chips and dip are bomb. And while writing this the bartender brought over a don Julio bottle and poured us some extra shots. Heck yes! We are staying at club el moro only steps away. I strongly suggest this awesomeness. Come for the beaches, booze and food, stay for the beaches, booze and food.

    People eating. Not us.

We ordered drinks, apps and food off the menu. All the ingredients are local and menu is very creative. Overall the food was good but nothing to absolutely rave about. It's just one of those places where everything is good but nothing is extraordinary. For the price there are many other restaurants close by that might offer more interesting options while in La Paz. However if you want a chill dinner with a creative menu which is locally sourced - do check it out.

The wait staff is excellent providing prompt service and helpful with the menu. For 3 diners we ordered 4 dishes to share- roasted beet salad, duck salpicon, shrimp fettuccine and lobster and rice with clams, grilled artisan bread with pesto aioli. This is my second dining experience here and I've enjoyed each meal. My favorite is the beet salad I which chef offers the sweet of the beets and hibiscus dressing, richness I goat cheese and crunchiness of the in house made granola. Margaritas from bar were perfectly blended. A comparable meal in Los Angeles would be double the price. I will be returning for more meals!
