My experience and review got a response from Lana. So here's an update: Of course, her point of view is very different from mine and I hope you read her version of what happened as I'm the kind of person that feels you should hear both sides of every story. I would, however, like to point out the slightly amusing part of her response to my horrendous experience, as I feel that it will further prove my point. As I mentioned many times on the phone, in person and in my original yelp review, I had my Grandfather with me for my appointment. I repeat, Grandfather. In Lana's response, she refers to my father numerous times as she tells me that my experience isn't what happened. Since my father has been dead for over 20 years, it would have been impossible for him to be as involved as she claims. If he was this involved, perhaps she would do better in the field of being a medium... Because I'm sure I can think of a thousand things I'd like to ask my dead father... Who, according to Lana, was at the appointment. This lack of attention perfectly portrays the "hear what I want to hear" issues that I had various times throughout my appointment. In fact, being scolded and having Lana raise her voice to me would have been avoided, had she actually paid attention in the first place. Instead, I am being blamed for her misunderstanding. I took notes when on the phone with Lana. I have notes for every person I contact regarding the death of my aunt. I write exact times of calls made and I'm overly organized because this is such an important matter. What happened to me and my family was atrocious. But really, it's my word against her's. Well, her word against mine and my grandfather's. (who she drove to the brink of tears.) So you'll have to decide if she is someone you want to deal with. I just hope you take my experience in to consideration. I appreciate Lana's apology, even though it was more of an opportunity to tell me that I was wrong, rather than a genuine apology but I can, in no way, recommend her services. Especially to a grieving family... Unless they're really in to being yelled at, in a time of grief. read more

I am a customer that has frequented many times in the past to Lana's Estate Sales. I still attend Lana Estate Sales. I go there for one thing only: to find specific items at rock bottom prices! I will admit I was taken back when I received the email from Lana about the negative review on Yelp. I'm not here to talk her "up", but we have E-Commerce in common: I have the cash, she has the product (s), we negotiate and we both walk away happy. I read both Axi's review and Lana's response. The negative emotions or lack of humanity and sensitivity is subjective behind the experience, that's between the two of them, but objectively speaking of product and what the customers (me) would buy is a true. I don't like wasting my time if Lana or any Estate Company has no worthy products for purchase. What turns me off is someone or a company who promotes a sale and has nothing but junk to offer me. That's not Lana. She is a business woman who is thriving, BUT attitudes determine ones altitude. Thank God we live in country where we have freedom of speech and expression. I will say this, anytime one negative business review shakes one to the core, where you need to reach out to your mailing list for support, your foundation is built on sand-it will eventually be knocked down by the tide. If one is confident in their own convictions, in the communication they had with a potential client or customer, your foundation is SOILD-you can hold your own and not be afraid of what others think or say about you. I'm not Dr. Phil, Oprah, your priest or a therapist, but sometimes these things happen to get your attention. But when a client says, 'The experience I'm about to share is not to be negative or slanderous. I'm merely informing you of the very real experience I had with this business...' Axi is expressing her freedom of speech in her experience. It sounds like there was no meeting of the minds. Lana, RELAX, RELATE, AND RELEASE IT! What we sow in this earth, we reap in a harvest. I have been to many of Lana's Estate Sales and she has always been very helpful and courteous. I understand how it must be difficult to run your own business because not everyone is going to like what she has to sell (or the prices). I enjoy her wit and admire her entrepreneurism. read more

It just shows you how unprofessional Lana is to use the deceased persons full name in her rebuttal to my review of her services. My view of the services obtained are very different than her option. I don't want to waste time going back and forth. Just beware- if you plan to hire an estate sales company , Lana's Estate sales is not be your best option. read more

Lana and her team do a wonderful job when it comes to estate sales. Cleaning, organizing, pricing, and selling, they do it all. She has always been friendly and fair when it comes to her sales. Lana is one of the estate companies who goes above and beyond for the clients. read more

I just got back from another estate sale hosted by Lana's Estate Sales, and I have to say I appreciate her help when I ask about an item I'm interested in. She seems to really do her homework. She is so busy at the sales, but when she's helping me I feel like I'm the only person in the room. She's organized, and when she sends out her emails for an upcoming sale, I appreciate that not only does she give an overview of what is there, she also clarifies what is NOT at the sale. As a collector, it has proven very helpful to me in determining which of her sales I get to. read more

I exceedingly regret that Axi had expressed negatively of Lana. I know Lana and Stan for many years and as a buyer have always been treated very honestly. They are very professional in their business, very knowledgeable of antique's value. I have also seen Lana working with clients and she has always shown courtesy. I have been attending Lana's estate sales for a couple of years and have always had a positive experience at them. She is very knowledgeable about the items on sale and posts the contents accurately on her emails so one doesn't waste time going to an estate sale that doesn't contain what you're interested in ... Lana's is a great place to shop. It is a consignment store where people bring their not-so-used clothes, accessories, furniture, etc. to be re-sold at a fraction of the price. I've been shopping here for a while and can't even tall you the deals you can get. Lana is very particular about the quality of the items she will sell in the store, so you aren't going to find "thrift store" kind of items here. Similarly, you aren't going to find "thrift store" prices, but you absolutely get what you pay for and then some. You will be surprised at the quality you get for the price you pay. I've even found many items here with the original price tags still on that are being sold for less than half of what you would willingly pay at a department store. The atmosphere is great and the ladies are very friendly and helpful. Plus, they have a very cute "tea garden" where you can sit and have tea and cakes on a Sunday morning. They have recently moved to a new location on Bay Street, but I don't know the new address so I can't update it. It's just around the corner from the old location though. read more

I have been doing business with Lana for more than 15 years and find her to be honest, extremely hardworking, knowledgeable and courteous. I first met her when she had a retail consignment business. As she moved on in life and started her estates sales business I have purchased many one of a kind items from her sales at very reasonable and fair prices. I like the fact that Lana never minces words and she always does what she says she will do. She has an impeccable reputation in Fremont having done a retail business here for many years. I cannot believe anyone not being satisfied after doing business with her. I do know that she is tops is my book and I would vouch for her hands down. Thank you Lana for finding all the wonderful stuff for us! We have used many of the items we have purchased from you in the homes we stage. Lana is and always has been a marvelous business lady and, as a person, a remarkable lady. Her value system is truly one to be highly esteemed. She is kind-hearted and uniquely conscious of other people's feelings, and strives to satisfy everyone on an individual basis. Her true colors showed brightly in a recent experience at an estate sale wherein she was concerned for the comfort of my 95-year-old friend who can barely see. Lana took my friend by the hand and helped her around while explaining in great details objects about which she asked. Lana then offered my friend a seat next to the table so she could rest while others in our party enjoyed browsing with ease through the sale. Not many business people take time like Lana did that day. She was so kind to her, and to everyone else there. Lana is an example of how people should treat each other.
