The Radio Shack is inside the Tru Value Hardware Store. There was something I needed that was on sale at the Radio Shack and they dId not have what I was looking for but I got an earful from the Owner about how he couldn't make any money at Radio Shack  sale prices. I bought some hardware for a project and had one 3 dollar item to return. Since it had been 31 days since I bought it and was one day late they would not allow me to return it. Another time I came in for some weedkiller and wanted to purchase it for the advertised price on the Tru Value Web site and he would not honor that advertised price. Well in my book it's 3 strikes and you are out. I will never ever purchase anything here again unless they have the only one out there. The other hardware stores in Estes Park have never pulled theis kind of stuff on me. They honor advertised prices.  These people see the consumers here as tourists. They don't care what you think because you will be gone in a few days.  The tourists make this great town what it is and it is sad that this guy doesn't know who signs his paycheck during the off season months read more

This place has a little bit of everything! Camping supplies, home repair items, souvenirs, paint, grills, firewood and a Radio Shack! Didn't even know Radio Shacks still existed but they do here. Store was clean and well stocked. No need to travel outside of Estes Park. If it isn't at the grocery store it's here. read more

When I am in Estes Park, there is always at least one visit to True Value, sometimes it feels that I am in there the entire visit! Little-known fact: if you forget your swimsuit in Estes Park, you can get one for you and the whole family at True Value hardware. I had to pick one up a few years ago and was surprised that they were actually cute and very flattering! RadioShack is inside of True Value in case you forgot your charger, need an adapter, need a ethernet cable, or need a new phone. This RadioShack even has a ghost hunters section with actual devices and gadgets to measure the paranormal activity at the neighboring Stanley hotel. I kid you not. On top of all the normal stuff they have in regular hardware stores like drills and hardware and lawn and garden equipment, this particular true value also sells native wildflowers seed, fishing gear, and all the items you need for your vacation rental if you forgot something at home, like novelty wine glasses! Plus, this store also has tons of souvenirs! Like bumper stickers and mugs and all the little gift items you need to take home with you. I purchased $100 worth of camping supplies here. The retractable dog leash broke the 2nd time my dog wore it, and a $20 5x7 tarp had extra holes where the grommet was secured. Not a crisis - I tried to return the product with my receipt within 48hrs. The manager, Thom, wouldn't take the returns and only offered in store credit. He also wasn't willing to talk to me - instead shouting "CREDIT ONLY" at Janna, who said her computer couldn't process returns. Taped up on the service desk counter: "Store credit MAY be the method of which returns are given, at the discretion of management. Arguing or complaining will immediately results in $100 service fee." Not very classy. A disappointing experience overall. read more

Easily the worst customer service I've ever experienced in a hardware store in that they were unwilling to be helpful and also that they were just generally unkind, human to human. We came to this store to purchase fishing licenses and the first 2 employees we dealt with were fine until a 3rd employee insisted on inserting himself into the transaction and refused us service due to our religious beliefs. read more

Website at 4:15 stated was open until 5:00. I arrived at 4:20 to a dark store. Three customers were turned away. No sign about closing early. Ran another errand. Checked website again at 4:45 PM and it said Easter may affect hours. No answer or re order phone message Customers should go to other hardware stores in Estes Park. They care more elsewhere and have better business practices. This store is more convenient but I will not return. This business has lost my dollars. read more

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!!! This place has some of the worst customer service I have ever encountered!!! Their return policy is atrocious! I purchased a vacuum cleaner there to replace a damaged one at the home I was staying at. I brought it back 36 hours later because I had purchased the wrong model and they did not have the correct replacement model. I was told that I could only return for store credit (worthless to me because I am from out of town). After a thorough explanation on my part, the "manager", Chris K., told me that it was at his discretion to give store credit vs. full refund but could not give me any consistent, logical explanation on why he would not refund my money. So I got to bring home a $200 vacuum cleaner that I don't need! It seemed very shady and I would strongly advise against purchasing anything at this place. read more

Very disappointed with the manager today, 6/17/2021! He was rude on the phone and rude in person. Although he stated that two of the items I needed and was eager to purchase had arrived in a recent shipment he nor any of the other sales personnel made an effort to go back and look for said items. I can say that no matter where you are if you can find an Ace Hardware all is not lost. I love the small local family run businesses and True Value in Estes Park is no exception. They have a little bit of everything and I'm sure you can find a fix here. We were on a little camping trip and must have stopped by this True Value a half a dozen times throughout our 5 day trip. Welcome to the Estes Park Hardware Store and Sometimes Radio Shack. The staff is friendly, and somehow the radio shack that's inside the True Value Hardware store has different hours or crewpersons than the hardware store itself, so I'm never sure when I can see if they have a specific battery I need for an electronic device, but at least I can get light bulbs. They also have an expansive craft material selection, so you can pick up craft paints without having to drive all the way down to Loveland to whatever Michaels or similar chain store might be located at the bottom of the Highway 34 hill. They actually have a robust selection of most everything you might need, which is a staple of True Value stores, so if you're looking for something a bit off-the-wall, give them a call. They may well have it. All in all, there's not a lot of choice in Estes Park when you need something specific from a hardware store or Radio Shack, but these guys not only have the goods, they're friendly and engaging and helpful. So I'll be back, not only because I haven't any other options, but because I want to be. read more

True Value in Estes Park Colorado.... Store has a firm no return policy on most items. Used or unused. We bought folding chairs for twice as much as one would pay in most places. This is to be expected in a tourist area. However, we did not realize that friends would be bringing chairs. So we tried to return these unused chairs. No way... per manager Tom. No discussion. No offer for restocking or anything. Its too bad, as we would rather do business with small business rather than big box stores. But at some level they need to compete. If not price, perhaps service. read more

Staff rude and unhelpful. Will not return. Most unpleasant experience in Estes--just here trying to buy a few essentials while in town. Burnout employees (a girl and a guy at the cash register are rude) while another two just loaf about. Long line all because the employees want to argue with everyone in line. Poorly managed. I was in this shop on Aug. 13, 2014 in the afternoon. At check out, I was confused by the price at which an item rang up (who would think a board game would be $35!) and in my confusion, the woman at check out literally said to me "you can check the price on the shelf, but I'm charging you the $35 regardless". Nice to know that even if the store price coding is wrong, she would still gouge me. Seems to me this employee's customer service training went away or perhaps she's related to the owners! Not a great situation at checkout, but she could have treated me with basic courtesy (perhaps suggest I step out of line and check the price?). Other than this rude treatment, the store is very clean and has a nice assortment or merchandise - housewares, hardware an all sorts of misc items. However, if I see this person at checkout (long brown hair, pulled back), I will turn around and leave the store. read more
