The facial: 5/5 Relaxing, private, quiet and professional. Olivia was informative, gentle and not over chatty (all good in my book). Oh and there was a bed warmer... lovely! Foot massage (2/5) I'm basing this on deep foot massages I have had in the past. The deeper the better. I'd give their approach to a foot massage a 5 if you're just expecting light application of massive amounts of fragrant creams and ever so gentle, light rubbing in a pleasant setting. I sat beside a good friend and we chatted while she had a pedi and the staff allowed me to stay longer because her procedure was longer and the room wasn't needed. I felt that was kind. Where things went off the rails and why my review plummets was due to the communication I received from this place after my review. I had expressed 2 levels of disappointment with their foot massage . First is wasn't 'deep' despite the description of 'deep rhythmic massage' on their website and second because the esthetician maintained a very light pressure after I twice told her should could go much deeper. The 'deep, rhythmic massage' never happened. They sent me an email asking me to change the review, blaming my disappointment on my misinterpretation of 'deep rhythmic foot massage' and explaining that of course it meant was 'deeply relaxing'. They said a lot of other stuff, but the result is that I feel gaslit and feel they were trying to shame me for giving an honest review. They have now updated the website to eliminate the wording of 'deep rhythmic' from their foot massage description. I have a screenshot of that earlier version. So, I have in fact changed my review from a 3 to a one and would give them a zero for customer service if I could. No customer should be made to feel this way.

Their tools were clean and so was the entire salon. This was my first manicure since I was 14 years old and I am now 28 so yes it has been a very long time. LOL! I was very happy with how my manicure turned out. The colours I picked were called Emerald lights and sir teal to you. These two colours gave my nails a sort of mermaid look which I absolutely love! The salon is clean, bright, and organized nicely in a row. I love nail spots like this where you can sit next to your friend, rather than the ones where you can't sit together and you're at more spread out stations. I didn't need anything special. I was in a bind and needed my Shellac polish removed. In many other places this is something that can cost way more than it should, but I was so thankful to find that it was only $7.00 here. Perfect. Totally reasonable. It was a Saturday, and I was expecting to have to wait since I didn't have an appointment, but to my (very pleasant) surprise, they were able to see me right away. My visit was quick, cost effective, and efficient. I would go back again if I'm in the area, for sure!

I had shellac done on Monday, and by Thursday the colour had already come off. I went back on Saturday because, like many people, I work during the week. Instead of offering a solution, I was told I should have called earlier in the week to have them fixed. They refused to give me a refund or even offer to do my toes instead as a gesture of goodwill. Very disappointing customer service. If a business doesn't stand behind its own work, it's hard to recommend it. Please don't waste your money.

On each occasion, we arrive surprised by the location of this spa, then remember we have been there before, and become impressed by the fact that they are doing well based on their rather challenging location. Then we go in for our services and are reminded why they are doing so well - the practitioners are great! Each experience we have had here has been delightful: we are welcomed with a drink, the front staff are all very polite and friendly, and the practitioners are very professional. We have had pedicures, body treatments, and massages, and we have left each time feeling very pleased. The only reason we are not regulars, is the location. For us, it's on the opposite end of town, it requires a rather awkward u-turn to get into the mall, and while we are super pleased with the services, the actual spa space could use a bit of a facelift (but that's minor in the grand scheme of things).
