My neighbor and I share a fence. It's on the property line. She hired Estrada Fences and we split the cost of the fence and any repairs . In the past, they did a nice job. This time, the fence work was also good but they left construction debris, not on her property but on mine. My neighbor called them and asked them to clean it up. When they arrived, I went out to talk with them. One man started YELLING at me, saying he wasn't a landscaper and left in a huff. He didnt clean up the chunks of old cement, the sand that was on the brick border. I didnt want them to be landscapers. I wanted them to clean up the mess they made and remove the debis they left. I try to be diplomatic and discuss issues. I will not tolerate being yelled at. I would not hire them. read more

Very responsive and professional. Installed my cedar fence 20 years ago and it has looked good and weathered well. Recently I needed 2 posts replaced. Good job! read more

Excellent quality replacement of one wooden gate and repair of the other. Luis (the owner) came out within a couple of hours after we called, and the work was done very well the next morning at a reasonable price. Recommended by a friend and well worth it. read more

Estrada Fence installed our fence along the alley five years ago. It was recently damaged by storms and high winds. I was out of town at the time, but a neighbor contacted me with a picture of the damage. I forwarded the picture to the company owner and ask him if he could take a look and do any needed repairs. He got back to me right away and said he would check it out later that day. When re returned home the fence was fully repaired. I cannot stress strongly enough how reliable, friendly and reasonable this company is. Their work is quality and they stand behind it. read more

Worked like a family of beavers and the result is nothing short of fantastic. Neighbors and people I don't even know have stopped by to admire and compliment the fence. It looks and smells magnificent! Was referred to Luis and his team by a colleague and am gratefu for the referral. The city regulations made for some plan changes but they were flexible in returning to ook at the situation again to advise. A huge team arrived in inclement weather and made their way through what I believed to be a multi day job in just one day. The behind the scenes personnel were delightful and informative through the process. Couldn't be happier with the process or the result! Thank you!!! read more

Estrada fence was timely and listened to all the changes we made along the way until completion. Their prices were competitive and the work was of quality! They installed the mailbox in the fence, just how we wanted, showed us pictures before putting the fences in and asked about details every step of the way. 10/10 would recommend, we will definitely be calling them back to work on another fence! read more

I have to say that I am unbelievable impressed my Estrada fence team work. They completed our fence in 1.5 days very clean work and great prices. The fence looks incredible super clean and very efficient quick work. I had 2 other quotes and Estrada fence was the best price and I have to say was the best decision we made. read more

Before the project I both verbally and in emails confirmed certain details for us to comply with village of Wilmette codes. These things were not done, putting me in a risky spot if the village one day objects. Luis said that the village doesn't perform inspections so he did not need to fix the problem. read more

Estrada Fences was the only company to respond to my request for a quote for a relatively small project. The work was done efficiently and for a reasonable price. We are very happy with the outcome. Thanks Luis! Estrada Fences was very responsive to our request for a relatively small project. The work was completed in a few hours for a fair price. We are very happy with the outcome, thanks read more

Another 5 star review for Estrada Fences! We had them come out for a quote and Luis came a little early and turned around the quote in 24 hours. They came in slightly less than competitors but gave us a discount for cash (we asked). Mostly we hired them because they're local and came highly recommended. They showed up early for the job and finished the job in a day! Wow these guys work fast! They took care of stumps and the weeds from an adjoining property and the fence looks amazing! So glad we hired them! If you want an honest and hardworking company then this is the place to hire! read more

Do not waste your time. Verbatim informed us he has other people to see. Just wants to have a heavy pipeline of customers, not provide quality work. He's not interested in his customers. To note, we were interested in decking out our 220+ ft backyard with vinyl fencing. read more

The crew at Estrada did a great job doing a 6 foot tall cedar fence replacement to our existing and dilapidated 3.5 foot fence. It's wasn't a big project - only about 35 feet of fencing with one four foot wide gate - but they got in at 8:30 and were done by noon. They hauled away the old fence for us no problem. Beyond their pricing being quite competitive, they were the only company of the four we reached out to who came the same day to do an estimate, and scheduled the work within three weeks of contract signing. The crew was friendly, masked and even made a minor change to the gate that I requested on the spot, without questions. Highly recommend this local Evanston business. Good people, and good product. read more

Sloppy job cant even follow instructions had them install a vinyl fence and they cant even follow instructions every panel has a metal rod that goes on the bottom of the fence to prevent sagging they installed most of them on the top instead of bottom which clear says bottom rail and the are facing up horrible definitely do not recommend them i will be reporting their business to bbb. I wouldn't even give them a 1 star but its the only way to give them reviews! read more

Luis and his team were amazing! Like other posts, I collected about 3 quotes and in the end chose Estrada Fences. I called him maybe around July 6, he came to check out the yard the next day, sent quotes over within a few days (sent me both vinyl and wood options) and we were scheduled for install about a week and a half later. I LOVE my fence, I can't stop going outside to look at it. We also wanted a special code lock for the gate, which for a small additional fee he installed. Removal of existing fence and installation of 90 feet of new fence took 1 day. I have had a lot of projects recently done on my house, and this was by far the easiest, quickest one - I thought this was going to be the trickiest! read more

We hired Estrada earlier this year to complete a subsection of our fence and to install two wood gates. The project is completed but the craftsmanship is just okay at best. They made the fence by hand in our backyard and the two gates are not seamlessly opening like you would expect. Further for only about 22 feet of fence we were charged $2000.00 for pretty weak craftsmanship. If you are doing a wood fence, I would consider these guys ok but costly. read more

The Estrada team recently built my wife and me a beautiful new fence to perfectly frame in our back yard. The time to schedule with the team and subsequent response for follow-ups were super-fast and always courteous. They allowed for customization, and we are thrilled with the end product. Their price point was more than competitive, and we highly recommend their service. read more

NOTE: Service was never rendered. This review is based on my brief interaction with the business owner, Luis. He was quick to come out when I called and gave me an estimate for fence repair. I called him back a few days later to ask for a new quote because he missed few additional bad posts that other vendors saw. He adjusted the quote and it was the best price (within 10% of a few other vendors). He gave me 5% discount for a cash price and wanted to do the work the next day. I asked him what time he would be done with the job so I could get back in time. He said he wasn't sure. I asked if he could do it a few days later when I would be around. He asked why I would need to be around? I said I wanted to see the work (and I had to be around to pay him the cash obviously). He got very offended that I wanted to be around then he immediately said he was "busy" with another customer and ... click ... dial tone.... WTF? All this in a 5 minute conversation. Is this how you do business? Is this how you treat people? I went with Fence Solution and they were within a hundred bucks. They were courteous and professional. The repair was of high quality workmanship. I'm very glad it worked out the way it did. As I said, I don't know the quality of Estrada Fence's work. Given how the owner is, I would think twice about working with him. Think about how you would have to deal with him if there was a problem ... read more

Luis was immediately responsive to providing the estimate, but the credit ends there. During the estimate, he was obviously in a hurry to leave and seemed inconvenienced with any basic questions I had, such as when the job could be scheduled and if there were any photos of the styles I could choose from. Based on the positive yelp reviews, I decided to give him a chance anyway. However, he was again in a rush to get off the phone with a follow up call about when and how to sign the contract and obtain the permit he said was my responsibility and a requirement. Then, the day he scheduled with me that the $6,800 contract was supposed to be signed, he was a no-call/no-show. Estrada Fences is unfortunately either too busy or too inattentive. I wish it had been better. read more

Responded immediately and arrived on time. Great communication throughout the project. Would definitely recommend.

We have been debating replacing an old chain link fence for years and we finally did it, thanks to Estrada Fences! Based on recommendations from neighbors I called Luis and he came out the next day to measure. I received a competitive quote (for a dog-eared cedar fence with two locking gates) in less than 24 hours. We had to get the permit ourselves (no big deal) and once we did we agreed to an install date which was about two weeks out. His crew of three guys showed up on time and finished the job in one day, including excellent cleanup. Luis was very easy to communicate with by phone, text and email. His wife, Laura, showed up later on the install day to supervise and help with clean up. She gave us recommendations for upkeep and said we could call if we have any questions. They did an excellent job and we are very happy with our new fence! read more

We had Estrada Fences replace the wooden fence in our backyard in 2018 and we were very satisfied with their work. A month ago we noticed that one of the fence sections had come loose. I emailed Luis with a picture of the issue and asked if they could stop by and repair it, or tell me how I could do it on my own. The next day they came by and quickly fixed the issue with no charge. Estrada put up a cedar fence in April. The quality was good for the price we paid, though the height of some of the posts weren't the same and some of the screws were still sticking out. They told us it would need to be stained about 4 weeks later to protect it from graying, so we scheduled that. When we got home that evening after they stained it, we were horrified to find a pick, splotchy fence. It looked terrible. What's worse, they had used a spray gun to apply the stain, and they had gotten stain on everything in our back yard, including the vegetables in our garden. It was on our downspouts, our patio furniture (which could have been moved out of the way), the neighbors fence, the brick on our house...everything. Had we been home, we would have covered what we could, but instead we ended up having to pull up most of our vegetables. At that point, we called Luis to ask what happened and why the fence looked so bad. He said the stain wouldn't take on the wood for some reason and they the amount of money he quoted us wasn't enough to cover it. After some pushing, he agreed to come back the next morning and apply more stain. The 2 guys that came had not been told that they needed to restain the entire fence, so then 1 of them had to go back and get more supplies. They finally got started again (not bothering to put tarps or plastic over anything again) and after 2 more hours, the stain still didn't look right. We had to continually point out areas where it was blotchy. When we asked them why it looked so bad, they told us Luis had told them to only put 2 coats of stain on, and that usually a job like that requires at least 3 coats. When they were done, Luis got on the phone with us and started to get loud about having to send his guys out there and use all that stain. He ultimately hung up on us. We completely regret having Estrada Fences install and stain our fence. Please save yourself the headache and go with someone more professional. read more

I'm very happy with the experience I had with Estrada fences. I spoke to Luis on a Sunday and told him I had availablitly to meet Monday afternoon. He was right on time and gave me a very competitive bid. Due to the chilly weather still, he actually had availability to construct our fence the next day. Tuesday after work, I met with Luis and he showed me the new fence. It was exactly what we had discussed and all materials (and old fence) were cleaned up. It's a nice surprise to work with a contractor who shows up on time, cleans up and delivers on what he promises. Luis does all this and does it with a smile. read more

It was time for us to install a new fence around our home, Our landscaper who we've known for a long time Fredy Villanueva recommended Estrada Fences Inc. When the owner Luis arrived on the date that we agreed upon he was on time, very polite and professional. We explained what we are looking for he then gave us our options, took the measurements and told us we would hear from him in a few days with the estimate. When they began the project they removed the old fence, protected the areas so nothing would be damaged between our property line and our neighbors. His team was very professional and friendly and you could tell they take pride in what they do. There were just a few minor issues that had to be resolved, and as soon as they were aware of they were corrected. If you're looking for new fencing around your home or business and a company that's very professional and excellent pricing I would highly recommend Estrada fences Inc. David Locey... read more

This was the best experience in a long time- from start to finish. Luis responded to my initial inquiry within minutes- stopping by my house within an hour to measure, etc. for a quote I received that day! They installed the fence yesterday. The team was out there in force and had the entire fence up in one business day. And they could not have been more friendly. Most importantly, my fence looks amazing. This is the second time they have built my fence. Once 15 years ago with a former owner. I know this fence will last years. read more

I am absolutely impressed with this business. I requested a quote to replace our run-down, overgrown fence. He showed up the next day, and I had a very reasonable estimate in my hands within hours. On the day of installation, I asked if they could install one extra fence post in the front of my house, so I could create a free little library. Not only did they do that (for free, because they loved the idea!), not only did they replace my rundown fence with a handcrafted fence, they also weeded my garden for me, cleaned up, and generally left my backyard looking beautiful. I thought I was going to have to sacrifice my vegetables for the cause, but they took great care and my tomatoes are already back to happy. Just a great experience all around. read more

I was at my wit's end trying to get a privacy fence installed, and receiving the runaround constantly with businesses that promised to get back to me and then never did, blah blah blah. And then I came upon Estrada Fences. Luis, the owner, came out THE SAME DAY, and wearing a mask, which I appreciated. He was extremely friendly and I liked him right off. He took measurements, we discussed exactly what I wanted done, and he promised to get a quote to me by the end of the day--which he did! The price he gave me was VERY competitive, and he gave me a start date of just 10 days out. His crew came out on the very date we'd arranged for, even arriving an hour early. Although his crew were fine on their own, Luis himself dropped by during the day just to say Hi and see how things were going. I had a check to give him which he didn't even ask for--I had to remind him! From start to completion the entire job was completed by mid-afternoon, and completely professional, when another company told me it would take days. I couldn't be happier. I would hire this company again in a heartbeat. read more

We collected quotes from five companies and Estrada's was very competitive. I'd seen good work they'd done for a neighbor and decided to proceed. Luis was quick to respond to our initial quote request and sent the proposal within a day. The installation yesterday looked great and I'd enthusiastically recommend them. It's hard for me to believe the other reviews, based on having Luis come by to give us an estimate. He was impatient, abrupt and unhelpful. I give him two stars for being on time for the estimate. I've had fences done for many homes over the years and he was the worst in terms of discussing or even understanding options. When I tried to talk to him about price, he gave me a fairly substantial price and then said it would cover any kind of fence, which strikes me as ridiculous. I know enough about materials to know that cedar, spruce or red wood are a lot more costly than pine. I also know a stockade type fence should be less than a shadow box type. But I guess if you inflate your price enough, you don't have to worry. Just not a company/person I would even begin to trust with my fence. read more

Maybe they're good if they ever call you back. Left a message once, never received a call back. Called again a few weeks later and someone came out to measure but never called me back with a price or to proceed with the work. Then the person that came out couldn't give me the right name for a piece of construction material that I needed prior to the install although he said it is something they used all the time. Maybe my job was too small for them. Whatever the reason, it was unprofessional. I lost confidence and am going elsewhere. read more
