Had an estimated for vinyl fence for our yard last Wednesday, the contractor was attentive and seemed knowledgeable, he told us that the proposal would be emailed to us by the end of the day and the latest on Thursday. It is now Sunday, I checked my email inbox and junk mail several times a day, still have not received the proposal. When reading all the reviews on google, this appears to be their problem consistently even if the customers called to follow, so I won't bother to call them for the quote and move on to other fence companies. Update: Julio responded shortly after my review and found out that the proposal was sent to the incorrect email address; he resent the proposal to the correct email address in a timely fashion. Will update when the job is done. read more

Unfortunately this review is only about communication as I went through the same thing as a previous commentator to the letter. Reached out, got an immediate answer and quote. Scheduled the work, then nadda. Called multiple times, left multiple messages with no response. In fact, I never even got details about permits and any of the other paperwork that other companies require. Hoping that this guy is ok as maybe there's more to it and he's got some sort of personal issue going on. But beware if you even give this guy a try at this point. read more

I am thoroughly impressed and so happy with my fence from Des Plaines Fence! Everyone was so prompt, nice, and professional. I cannot stress what a great group of workers we had here for install. The gates needed to be custom made, so it took a couple days, which was perfectly fine, and I am so in love with them. The hardware on the gates are solid and sleek, and very appealing to the eye, along with easy to use. I just had the gates completed this morning, and have had so many neighbors and people walking dogs complimenting them. My neighbors love the way it looks, along with my entire family. The white vinyl pops against the bushes and flowers, and it really is a statement piece that looks amazing. I would highly recommend Des Plaines Fence, even if you have to wait a little bit. The fence perimeter took a day to complete, and the gates took a couple hours. They are definitely worth the wait!!! read more

Got a Quote from these guys after hearing from 2 of my neighbors that this was the company to use for my new fence they came out and gave me a estimate with pictures and really straight forward emailed the guy that came out twice and called 4 times asking if they can do the job or if they were to busy I would understand no call back or email reply ! I had about 190 feet of 3' tall scalloped cedar fencing installed. Julio and his guys took out the existing fence and replaced it in just under a day and a half. They also did some repairs on my back gates. I cannot say enough nice things about this company. Extremely professional, great quality materials and they left the yard very tidy. So far so good. Julio has been out twice already, once for estimate and once for review - project approval. Quick quote revision we needed and we now have a date. I own a manufacturing business and deal with customers all day and night sometimes. Sometimes my answers are quicker than others but my customers know I will always do it right. Unfortunately, I too have wasted my time. I gave Julio several opportunities to give me the quote I originally asked fo, which was for labor only. I asked him upfront about me buying the materials since I contacted him originally from a list of contractors at Menards. He sent me a quote for materials and labor but not one for just labor. I guess when you ask the question of "what is the biggest complaint you get from customers?" and the owner says lack of communication, you should just move on. Julio explained that with their busyness and small crew, they don't always get back to their customer right away...he didn't say that they consistently ignore emails, texts and even promises via phone conversations over a 6 week period (I wasn't in a rush because I had been out of town a few times) I was hoping to not only get a fence put up but have someone to refer my real estate clients to as well. read more

We were given a quote by the owner and then the original date of install was cancelled ( didn't know that until my third call to them). I was then given a second date of installation and had to keep calling them (again) to see if they were even coming. I never heard back from them, very unreliable and disappointing. Julio and his team accommodated my schedule and completed the job a week early. The rains the night before did not delay the job and his team worked hard all day. My family is very happy with the fence and I have had several inquiries from my neighbors. Des Plaines offered their services for the same model of fence (traditional) as other outfits, plus removal of a chain link fence riddled with weed trees, for several hundred dollars less. I made an appointment with the owner Julio for a Wednesday morning estimate at 11am. I work full time so I took the morning off to meet with him. At about 11:10am, no one had came for the estimate so I called him. He claimed that the guy was running behind and told me he would be there at 1:30. A call would have been appreciated if they knew they were running behind. I told him this was not appropriate as I had already took the morning off to meet with him. He then agreed to come at 3:30. He showed up, seemed nice enough and promised to send me a quote the next day. No estimate was ever emailed and no phone call. Completely unprofessional. While they have a business to run, potential customers have work to do as well. What a waste of time. Don't waste your time with this company, work with a company that shows up on time and will create a good first impression. read more

Don't bother contacting DP Fence company. What terrible customer service. The owner never contacted me back when I left him a voicemail. They delayed he job because another job came up closer to his company site. I paid with a check and asked for a receipt and he never gave me one. I would never recommend DP Fence. read more

Don't bother. Scheduled a small fence/gate install about 2 weeks in advance on a Saturday (when I was off work) I call them that morning confirming what time they'll start, They can't make it (Remember TWO week ahead of time appointment!) they ask to reschedule to monday, I say O.K. Monday they call to reschedule until Tuesday (today) because there was snow on Monday. I'm off work so I say O.K. AGAIN. The guy said around noon they'll be here. I called them and left a message in the morning asking what time they'll be here... I'm typing this at almost 5pm and still haven't heard back from anybody. Geez guys, it's about 10ft of total fence & gate, was going to do it myself but figured why bother if they could knock it out in an afternoon. Needless to say, I'm back to square 1. This episode proves that Service is dead in this country. What a joke of a company. Look elsewhere. read more

I will always hire DesPlaines Fence! They are the best. Competitive prices (actually, the most reasonable by far.) Prompt. Willing to go the extra mile, if necessary. We not only had extensive roots and stones where post needed to be installed but the huge roots of a maple tree that made installing the fence correctly in that section. When we needed a tree company to return to take care of these roots, Julio rescheduled the completion of our fence without any additional charge.
