My family and I have gone to this park for years. It used to be clean and a safe place to go for…read morethe weekend or just for a fun afternoon at the lake. Lately the park has been filthy. Staff is nowhere to be seen. The bathrooms are dirty. My daughter went into the gift shop to purchase some fishing worms and they were all dead. The girl at the counter told her that dead worms were better than live worms because the smelled bad, but who wants to touch nasty, rotting worms? We had to go to the gas station down the road to buy minnows, which was out of the way and more expensive. People were drinking and partying loudly. It's no longer a nice quiet park to take your family to. The glamping tents have taken up too many camp spots which gives normal campers less spaces to rent. Management is trying to make this a park for rich yuppies and are forgetting the local folks make this park what it is. The water is too hot in the summer to swim. No playscape for small children, so small kids have nothing to do if the water is hot.

There were several pretty ducks strolling on the green grass. It rained yesterday so everything was green and bright. It seemed like a safe place to walk and run. There were several others walking their dogs and some kiddos riding bikes. We walked along the river and saw the backside of a great looking bar/joint called Neighbors. There was nobody there seeing it was only about 10 am but it looks like a neat place.

It was our first time kayaking & we didn't know what to expect on the river but Linda quickly put us at ease. She was very knowledgeable about the river & explained how to navigate it & things to look out for. We were shuttled to the launch site, given a quick lesson on how to hold & use the paddles & we were on our way. Despite the heat, the river was pretty cool (glad we brought insulated water bottles & a cooler with snacks). It was peaceful & the water was calm & we made it to the end without tipping over. We saw lots of turtles, birds, even a few cows taking a dip. At the end two huge blue herons flew across the river right in front of us...it was a great experience & we can't wait to do it again. Highly recommend this company- the reservation process was easy (we just called the day before) & the everything was provided (dry bags & life vests included), the price is very reasonable & the local knowledge was exceptional.

We rented a bus from them - they called the day of the event and told…read moreus the bus we had rented (Black Limo Bus) was having some mechanical issues so they sent us a red (dingy) bus. We had rented a nice pontoon boat the next day - since we had the issues with the bus they were going to send us a yacht. What a joke - the boat was not the pontoon and not even close to a yacht! The driver was rude, the boat was too small for all of us and the dock was seriously dangerous. This was bait and switch the whole way. Now they won't return my calls to get a refund.
