Level of service - terrible, it just doesn't exist. They don't care what happens after the buyer has paid for his order. I got two orders and every! order has a defective item. Their return process has been designed in such a way that the buyer cannot return the defective item, even if he wants it very bad. The original packaging is required, not the part package itself, but the parcel packaging that had this part in its original box. There is no way to print a return label at all. It's not clear who suppose to pay for the return. They just give you a return number and shipping address. And it's not because you just changed your mind.... their parts are defective in every order! read more

OfficeMax said that my phone speakers where beyond their ability to repair after they inadvertently damaged in while they were trying to repair the charging port so they sent it up to Werx to be repaired. As a result, I had to be without my phone for 3 days. According to the repair record, this place said that there was not a problem. My guess is that it wasn't even tested as it should have been. I had to go back to the OfficeMax and show the manager that I was still having a problem with the phone. Not sure how this company had office Depot choose it to do cell phone repair. If you're in their store, I'm guessing they may feel more pressure to repair it correctly. It's when you're not looking that that is a better judge of a company's character, and this company did not show good results. I ended up taking it to Cell Phone Restore over by Shepherd and Welch in Houston who said the problem was simply not correctly attaching the replacement parts to the speaker ribbon from the original repair job. read more

eTech parts, though they mean extremely well, and are mostly all very nice people, is not so much of a parts company, but more of a parts sourcing company. They source parts in from China (and possibly other locations), and resell those parts. The problem with that, is they do not have people at their locations that test the parts they're selling to people (or repair companies). I own one of the highest ranked, most popular national mail in/business iOS device companies in America, and have used eTechparts on and off for 4 years, and in that time, I have gotten A LOT of bad parts, that cost my company a lot of money, induced customer headaches, technician headaches, and as a result, owner headaches. These days, I use them when I have to, and not because I really want to. I would caution any repair company from buying parts from these people, unless you fully understand that you will likely incur lots of lost money and other costs associated with overnight shipping new parts in replacement for bad parts. They'll refund or give you store credit on parts that were bad, but you lose out on a lot of money in the meantime. You should also fully understand, as a repair company, doing business with this company, that their defective rate is a lot higher than they claim it to be. Over the years, in certain months, their defective rate has been over 25% with parts they sold to my company. That's completely inexcusable, whether or not it's their vendors' faults. On many occasions, their staff DID NOT know the difference between a good quality after market iPad digitizer, and an original quality iPad digitizer. And they're selling them to legit corporations? You do not sell a product to another enterprise not fully having the capacity to differentiate between types and quality of product. On many occasions, we've had to order daughter boards for iPads. Actual daughter boards, that require lots of labor time to replace, and in these said occasions, we've gotten MULTIPLE BAD DAUGHTERBOARDS in a row. One is bad, we overnight 2 more, they are bad. Customer waits days to get their device back, we lose money on constant overnight shipping, and for returns, we have to pay for shipping the defective parts back to eTech. It's basically preposterous to any conscious entrepreneur keeping track of their weekly balance sheet, expenses, and loss. I want to be clear: Sometimes, their parts are top notch, and there are little problems with them. But a great majority of the time, they are not, and you will likely experience continued problems if you work with this company for any appreciable amount of time. They're all very nice people, and all mean really well it seems, but meaning well, but not being able to deliver on a time sensitive, company success dependent product, DOESN'T CUT IT, in the business world. read more

I must say that this place is a little tricky to find. It's not in an area that the general public can just spot on a busy intersection. That is the reason that I am writing this review. This place is awesome! The owner is a recent acquaintance of mine and specializes in selling genuine apple parts for anything from macbooks to imacs, ipads, ipods, and everything in between. I was able to purchase my incase for my macbook pro from his store. I believe he does more online stuff, but it's cool to check him out at his location as well. I had to have an iPad screen repaired, and after googling local tech repair and reading through reviews, decided to try Werx. I learned that they typically specialize in technology based repairs for companies (like contracting with a school to repair computers or iPads, etc) but they immediately went to work to accommodate my one little Ipad- and I even had to pay cash that day, which is a rarity in itself these days- ha! They made it all happen efficiently, effectively, with a smile and for the same price that I paid to have a much smaller screen repair done a year ago at a different place. I was referred to this company by a coworker of mine so I stopped by last week to get my daughter's screen fixed. I left it there with them thinking it would take a day or so to get it back but to my surprise they called me a few hours later and the phone was ready for pickup. I sent a message via yelp to a few different iPhone and iPad repair places and the owner of Werx/eTech responded to me within minutes! I asked about pricing and they were super clear and straightforward with me unlike some other places. They were also quoting me the best pricing and gave me some information I was unaware of regarding unlocking a phone that all the other places neglected to tell me. They had availability for me to drop my iPad and iPhone6+ (both had shattered screens and I am wanting to sell them) the same day and both were done in a little over an hour! I received a phone call shortly after dropping them off letting me know they found some damage beyond the screen on my iPhone and wanted to check with me before doing the extra repair, which I appreciated so much. My Nightmare with Werx Screen Replacement Service Tuesday, May 14, 2013: I inquired about a cell phone screen replacement for my Samsung Android phone at a local Radio Shack. The manager told me that for $100 I can have it sent out and returned to me within 72 hours, with a replacement screen installed. I agreed. She showed me a small kit that included a prepaid Fedex mailer. Before taking my credit card, she asked to see my phone and she went to her computer to check to "be sure this model was covered under the $100 service". I don't know if she was going to the Werx website or to a non-public database. In any case, she assured me that "yes, this model is covered", and we completed the transaction. Wednesday, May 15, 2013: As per the instructions in the kit, I put the cell phone in the box along with the Radio Shack receipt and a filled out the form, as per the enclosed instructions. I then dropped off the mailer at a local Fedex box. Good so far. Friday, May 17, 2013: About 5pm, I get a call from 'Lenny" at Werx. As soon as he told me he was calling from Werx, I figured it was to tell me my cell phone with new screen was on it's way back to me. Wrong! Lenny explained (quoted to the best of my memory): "We have your phone. However that model is not included in our $100 kit. I guess Radio Shack sold you the wrong kit. It will cost an additional $150." Me: "Are you kidding?!" (He was not) Lenny: The box they sold you IS for Android phones. But there is a separate box for Samsung phones. That's the one they should have sold you. Lenny: "And we don't have the part but it will be in Monday morning." Me: "What are my options?" Lenny: "Well if you don't want to proceed, we can send it back unrepaired and issue you a refund in about 2 weeks." Me: "You sure it will be fixed Monday and sent to me by Fedex to arrive Tuesday?" Lenny: "Yes, you have my word on that.' Me: Okay go ahead. I gave him my credit card (in exasperation) Monday, May 20, 2013: At about 5pm Lenny called. Again, I figured it was to tell me my phone was delivered to Fedex for tomorrow deliver, as promised. Wrong! Lenny (again, quoted to the best of my memory): I know I gave you my word. But, they sent the wrong part for your phone. But I promise it will be in tomorrow morning. Wednesday, May 22, 2013: The phone arrived with a new screen installed. So, one week and $250 later, I have my phone back and repaired. Unfortunately, it took $150 and 4 days more than I was promised. If I had been given an accurate explanation of cost and time frame at the beginning, I never would have proceeded. But I was not. Maybe this was really a mistake on the part of Radio Shack and by whoever delivered the 'wrong' part to Werx. Or maybe this is the company's strategy; "once we have the guy's phone and his money, we're in a great position to change the rules". Regardless, I was misled into believing that for $100, I would have my phone back fully repaired in 72 hours. read more

Not reliable at all; left electronic messages at their home office and with a sales rep along with e-mails and haven't heard any response from either. Whenever I called or emailed customer service to find out the status of the repair, I was treated very respectably and had all my questions answered. Shipping was very slow, and the case is pretty beat up. Both corners of the screen are dented and the bottom is very scratched. That said, it works great. I put a $16 case/cover on it. It now looks great, and the price was right. I took out the 4 year warranty, so I feel pretty good about it. read more

We have used e-tech parts twice. The first time the screen we received was unfortunately defective. We are still working on the return. The second time we had issues where the option for international shipping was not available. I contacted them immediately after my order was placed to address the issue. I spoke with a lovely person who endeavoured to deal with the problem and also assisted me in printing of a return shipping label for our previous purchase - which to that point had eluded me. Unfortunately I was contacted several days later to be advised that the package had left their facility and the shipping issue had not been remedied. I was offered a discount for the additional amount I had to pay. I assumed this would be credited directly to my CC. Again, unfortunately this was not the case. They gave me a store credit. I am now in a position where I will be using their services again (some months later) and hope that all goes well this time. read more

This company doesn't deserve a one star rating from me. I'm highly disappointed by the way this company handled the situation with my phone. My phone was mailed out on May 24, 2017 to get fixed. They should have received it on the 25th or 26th. At the time...The only things that needed to be fixed on my phone was the blackout, cracked screen, and get a new battery. About a week later. I was told by the Tech at Staples that this company said that I needed a new wire. I paid on it the same day the Tech called me to tell me. A couple of days to a week went by and I called the Tech at Staples to find out what's the hold up with my phone. The company claimed they were still waiting for the wire to come. After that, the Tech at Staples wasn't able to find out anymore about my phone. The company wasn't corresponding with the Tech at Staples to keep them informed. He was worried! I was worried about my phone and all the personal information that was stored in my phone. I ended up changing a lot of my personal stuff, because this company had me worried as if they were going through my phone. It got to the point where the General Manager at Staples had to contact the District Manager for this company to find out what's going on. I spoke to the General Manager and told him to tell the company to just send my phone back. Working or not! Come to find out. Two or Three weeks later that the company claim that they haven't received payment to get the wire fixed on my phone. Sounds farfetched to me. They received payment. Just don't know why it was taking them so long to fix my phone. I called the Tech at Staples to find out what's going on with my phone and why is it taking this company so long to fix it. The company wasn't working on my phone. It was just sitting in their office. Why wouldn't anyone from this company contact Staples to let them know what was going on?! Why would this company keep my phone for over a month???? Staples uses this company to fix phones for their customers. Not the way to conduct business. I didn't get my phone back until Friday June 30, 2017..When I finally got my phone back, it looked great and was working pretty good! I'm still not pleased by how they conducted business. They put me through a lot of pain and suffering. I went to bed with headaches and woke up with headaches. Going throughout the day with headaches and stressing out about my phone. The manager at Staples compensated me with a few dollars in store coupons. It was a kind gesture from the manager at Staples. But, that wasn't enough for what this company put me through. My Similar Nightmare with Werx Screen Replacement Service I purchased an iPod touch 5th gen screen replacement for my daughter's iPod. I was sold a =~$90 replacement service from Radio Shack. Werx told me I had the wrong service and would need $150 MORE. I told them I would not pay that. I was never able to talk to the person who sent the email, I left voicemail as per their directions and replied to their email. Today, I got the unit back unrepaired with a small slip of paper that says they can't replace it. I'm thinking this is a different message than the give me more money one earlier. The request a refund site says their is a $30 deduction for their mailing and handling the refund. That is as far as I have gotten in the process. We'll see if they honor any refund in the end, but I don't hold out hope given the other reviews I am finding. read more

I don't often write reviews but werx repair was such a disappointment i feel compelled to. Firstly I purchased my "repair kit" directly from them on the internet. My repair kit contained vague instructions asking me to print off a receipt and to ship it back with the kit. I didn't have easy access to a printer and couldn't understand why this would be necessary so i called the company to see if i could forgo putting a receipt in with my kit. I was assured without hesitation that shipping without said receipt would be no problem at all! I even asked the woman "Are you sure?" and she said it was fine to ship without the receipt. Long story short I didn't get my phone back until i had place several phone calls to werx and waiting at least a month (maybe longer). They blamed me for not having put my receipt in with my repair kit! When finally I did get my phone back I was astounded to discover light shining through the seam near the screen and then it stopped responding to touch! After calling them again they said that i could return my phone to have it fixed again... of course the shipping would be at my expense! By the time i got back from traveling for work and after buying a new temporary phone I opened my email from them to see what i should do to return my phone...turns out there was a time limit on how long i had to return it! I gave up. DO NOT use this companies services for any reason. You wold be better off throwing your phone in a lake and getting a new one...at least you won't have to pay their exorbitant fees! It does not take 72 hours ... it took me three and a half weeks to get my iPad Mini back (granted, there was a hurricane that delayed it getting there, but that was during Week 1 ... still took 2.5 weeks longer). Plus another $80 - which, considering the cost of replacing the iPad didn't bother me as much as it annoyed me that it might be a "bait and switch" tactic. Communication was really lacking. I checked the website daily, but no updates and emails went unanswered for days. By Week 3, I was convinced I'd been scammed and started to panic - and of course they were really getting annoyed with me. It's been eight months ... I thought I would get used to the little and big specs of dust they left under the glass, but alas, it annoys me to no end whenever I'm trying to use any application that has any amount of white space in the background (one of the biggest specs of dust is right in the middle, about the size of a gnat). In the end it was cheaper than replacing the entire iPad but I should have remembered that you get what you pay for. Cheap cost, cheapskate solution. read more

I took my I Phone 7 Plus to Staples on August 14th, 2018, to have my battery changed. The Phone was in excellent condition other then needing a battery. I was told by the representative at Staples that it would take approximately one hr to put a new battery in. After one hour I enquired about my phone. I was told that the home button was no longer working and that their were black lines at the corner on my phone. I was told that staples would send my phone into Werx repair and that it would be overnighted and I would get the phone back within two days. I asked staples for a temporary phone and was told that they could not accommodate me. I went to my carrier Sprint and leased a new phone hoping that my phone would be back in a few days, and was given the option to return leased phone within 14 days. Today is August 27th and my phone has not been sent back to staples from Werx. The manager from staples in Camarillo, CA has called Werx and has been told over and over that my phone has been fixed and that it would be overnighted. It has been 13 days since phone was sent to them. I am very unsatisfied with Werx and staples store. I have learned my lesson, not to have a third party fix my phone. They used to be the place to order parts when the original owner operated the business. Now out of business due to poor quality, piss-poor service and mismanagement. Caused our first retail business many issues in Aug 2015 given that we trusted and relied on them for parts. Spent over 10k on parts that month. Always paid for premium parts but the iPad Air screens had so many digitizer grid lines you could land a plane on it among other defect issues. They even had the nerve to repackage Spigen tempered glass with cheap China 'glass' that was so poor it was blurry and flanked with many cosmetic defects it was shocking. I brought them back in-store (since we are local Kansas City area to them) only to be made to feel like we did it and they always had excuses. Being in the repair business well before they even opened for business I know what to look for in quality. In the end we could only could get store credit for more junk. Lost a few thousand. Yeah, we could have installed those junk parts and sent the customers out the door - that's not what we do. Luckily we bailed early before they closed a year later. Intuition can be a very good thing. We always paid in cash to save them Amex fees and couldn't file chargeback otherwise we would have. Lesson learned. read more

On July 18th, I took my Apple IPhone to Office Depot to have the battery replaced because it seemed to need charging every day. I also had a small ¼ inch crack on the upper left side of the screen and decided to have it replaced along with the battery. My phone was working fine except for having to charge it every day. After Office Depot replaced the battery and screen, my phone started freezing up and would disconnect when I was on a call. I returned the phone to Office Depot, explained the problem and it was sent to Werx Repair. I was told that I would receive my phone repaired within 3-5 business days. I wasn't aware that I would need to be at home to sign for the phone! This should have been my clue to what was to happen next! I made arrangements for someone to stay at my home to sign for the phone while I was at work. I was very excited to receive my phone when I picked it up from my friend's home. To my surprise the phone I received was not my IPhone, it was a Samsung Galaxy S8. Now the excitement begins! I contacted Werx to explain that I'd received someone else's phone and inquired about my phone. Werx had no idea who the Samsung belonged to AND where my phone was. I was asked to return the wrong phone and if/when they found mine it would be mailed to me. I was also told that I didn't have to contact Office Depot regarding this incident (wrong phone), that it would be handled by Werx. Eventually Werx found my phone and mailed to me, this time at my office. My phone STILL was not working! I also noticed that I could actually see light from the seam on the outside of the phone; screen not sealed properly. Also the phone was now getting hot in addition to freezing up. The phone was sent to Werz AGAIN! After about a week I called and emailed inquiring about my phone, no answer and no response. I could go on and on about my frustration, disappointment and inconvenience but I will make this a short long horror story. To add insult to injury, Werx stated that I had broken my phone and that they were not going to replace it or purchase me a new phone. My advice for anyone considering using Werx... DO NOT! Find another repair company.....not only will Werx not repair your equipment, but they will also misplace it, and will ignore you. read more

While fixing my cracked screen at my local Office Depot, I was informed that my iPhone's LCD screen wasn't responding to fingerstrokes and would need to be sent to Werx for further repairs. As I had purchased additional coverage at the store and wouldn't be charged extra, I agreed. I realized 72 hours without my phone would be hardship, but I could manage. It has now been two weeks. I have received no communication from Werx, and in order to get any updates on my phone, I need to drive to Office Depot, so they can call and check in. I've been told a myriad of stories about how my phone "just arrived" "is being shipped right now" "is taking longer than we thought" etc, etc. I was given a tracking number, alas nowhere on the website is there an entry field for a tracking number. Sure, you could set up an account, but you need to supply them with your credit card number to do so. No, thank you. Incidentally, since my phone has been in the hands of Werx, several of my secure accounts have been compromised. I'm not pointing fingers, but it does seem a trifle suspicions, given the complete lack of transparency with my situation. As I enter hour 300 of a 72 hour process, I caution others against using Werx. I suspect you'd have better luck with duct tape and prayers. read more

They seemed like they were a good company. As far as I can tell they shipped out parts from my order but when FedEx lost the shipment etechparts wouldn't do anything to help. In fact they stopped responding all together. Of the last three attempts I've made to get them to just OK the FedEx claim they have done nothing. It's really irritating because it wouldn't cost etech anything to let the claim go through. At this point I've just paid for something I never got and all because of lack of action on etechs part. read more
