My girlfriend and I initially loved our experience with Ethan Allen. The designer was amazing and was the only furniture salesperson we felt comfortable with during our long search to furnish our new home. Up until we placed the order on Oct 30th, we couldn't have been happier. That being said, we were told that if we open and use an Ethan Allen credit card through TD Bank, we would be offered a 48 month interest free payback period. It was a no-brainer for us to open the card. We were approved for $8K but our purchases totaled $16K+. It wasn't until this point that we were told that we could only use the card, and therefore enjoy the 48 month interest free payback period, if we put the full total on the card. Since this was an impossibility, we were told we couldn't use the card. I have brought this to three separate people's attention on multiple occasions at Ethan Allen and each told me there is nothing they could do. I told them I never would have applied for the credit card had someone told me there is a possibility I wouldn't be able to use it. I then asked that they remove it from my credit history without it further negatively impacting my credit history. They all told me that was impossible. I said there should be some sort of monetary refund then and I never heard back from them on this. So now I have a useless $8K Ethan Allen credit limit against my name. Closing the card negatively impacts me too. Furthermore, the delivery was due to arrive in late January. We placed the order on October 30th. They said this is later than usual due to the challenges of COVID restrictions. It arrived two months after that due date. When it arrived, the delivery people called me and said they were already outside. I told them I was 20 minutes away and left work immediately. I called when I was 3 blocks away (on time) and they said they just left and couldn't return today. They didn't so much as call me again before they left. I was literally 3 blocks away and by car. When they arrived the second time, the delivery people told us the walkway needed to be shoveled better. We did that and rescheduled for a return visit. Before they scheduled, they asked us to take a picture of the walkway. We did that and they said it was great to reschedule. When they arrived again, they told us that it still wasn't suitable to deliver due to the walkway and also, our door frame is too small for the dining room table. They told us it needed to be 36" wide and ours is 29" inch wide. No one informed us of this before we bought the table. They dropped the furniture in the garage and my brother-in-law and I moved it successfully. We took the table apart and put it back together after we got it in. Still, there were 2 Pearce chairs that weren't included in the delivery. They didn't arrive until May 26. One of them was damaged in transit so they only delivered one and told us it would be 4-6 weeks for the remaining Pearce chair to be delivered. The furniture is fully paid off already and we still do not have our entire order. I called today and they told me that it won't arrive until early November----over a year after we placed our order. Disappointment is an understatement. Any company worth returning to would have taken measures to rectify their mistakes. The issues we have experienced were due to no fault of our own and we are paying the consequences. Despite knowing the situation, Ethan Allen has offered no recourse---they haven't removed the credit card from my name and cleaned my credit history of any trace of it and they have not offered any refund, which at this point should be substantial. We originally had plans to return to EA to furnish our upstairs also. Considering EA's lack of action to rectify despite months of trying to work with them privately to rectify it, we will not be returning. EA will continue to lose business treating their customers this way. It is my hope that EA rectifies this and makes it right. If so, I will update my review. read more

Purchased a very costly recliner from Ethan Allen that took months to have delivered. Within 45 days the chair cushion frayed and I contacted concerning warranty. It has now been as long as it took to get a whole chair made and delivered and I do not have a replacement cushion. Nobody from Ethan Allen has come out to look at the chair or do any repair(s). I was given the wrong address to send piece of fabric to match the replacement. Complete lack of service. Once the sale is made and they have your money, they clearly do not care about you. You become just a number. I will never shop at Ethan Allen again and would strongly suggest others thing long and hard prior to trusting them with your business. Hope this review will help others make a better informed decision so you don't end up flushing over $2,000.00 down the toilet. read more

I really wanted to buy a floor sample credenza. Paid for it in full plus the $199 delivery fee. Waited two weeks for the pre-arranged delivery date. Called today and was told my order was canceled!! No letter. No e-mail to follow up. A lukewarm apology. Noting notifying me that the store had unilaterally canceled the delivery. (Apparently they needed my signature yet I never received communications.) The sales ticket / form had an old (no longer in use) phone number but I filled out a new customer form on the day of purchase! What happened to my info? The salesperson claims my business phone was not working. Not true. Then when I asked for a refund, they credited my charge the wrong amount. I blocked the entire day for delivery and spent time trying to fix their issues. On a side note, Pier One (Ryder delivery) came today as promised and did a flawless job with a furniture delivery. Ethan Allen -- supposedly higher end -- failed miserably on every front. Just sad and defeated. read more

My experience with this Ethan Allen is the best! Joe has been extremely helpful in giving me design advice and personalized service. From the store manager to the wonderful receptionist and the hospitable delivery guys, shopping at this store has been amazing. I encountered one small issue with a table after it was delivered. I spent a great deal of money at Ethan Allen in Chadds Ford and would have expected courteous service but every time a mistake in the order surfaced i was made to fell it was an annoyance for them to correct. The final error was they ordered the wrong size shade for my living room window. Instead of ordering a new one they had it cut down. One day after it went up the shade came off the roller. This was a $1,000 Hunter Douglas shade. I went into the store and could not get past the receptionist. She even gave me a fake email address to mail my video of the shade to them. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE IF YOU WANT TO FEEL YOUR MONEY WAS WELL SPENT AND THEY APPRECIATED YOUR BUSINESS. read more

I was in the process of ordering an expensive coffee table when I wanted to verify that if a table was delivered to me that it could be denied if it had a flaw. Their display model had a rough area where two rectangles of stone veneer were glued together and the excess glue was not removed. The entire table was smooth except for about a 6 inch seam. One salesperson agreed it was a flaw but another salesperson said it was acceptable and the manager said it was acceptable. I said I could not spend nearly $1500 on the possibility of receiving a flawed piece of furniture. They offered no remedy and thus lost a sale. No wonder stores are closing and their parking lots rarely have cars in them. read more

Very disappointed with the service at this store. I had a great design specialist but unfortunately, she left the store before my furniture was delivered. Probably a bad sign that I only found out when I called to ask her a question. After several days, the store manager finally called me back and really gave me a hard time. Apparently the service she promised, left when she did. I was excited to see the vision she had for my living room all come together. I guess they already received my money, so they do not care if I am a happy customer. For the amount of money I spent at their store, I definitely expected a better customer service experience. read more
