Yes, it's pricey, but it's worth it to us knowing its products are manufactured in North Carolina and NOT China. The showroom is large and exquisitely presented providing fully decorated vignettes of various home living spaces. The design consultant, Melanie, was extremely knowledgeable and directed us to the specific pieces we were interested in. No pressure tactics, no sales pitch overload. We already own several pieces of EA furniture and expect it to last indefinitely. My MIL still has a couch that was purchased 40 + years ago and it is still in excellent condition. Many, many family members and friends have sat on this piece time and time again - certainly proof of the quality and craftsmanship that this company stands for. Our experience here was top notch in every respect. We look forward to adding some new pieces to our current EA collection. read more

Needed a new picture. Came to Ethan Allen in Bluffton, South Carolina, today on May 9, and found what I needed. Great look and it will fit the bill perfectly. If you need the item "to go" or soon, go to the clearance room as I often do. Do note that now heavier items bought off the floor must be delivered. (undoubtedly there was a lawsuit which is unfortunate ) Now--and I want to honest but respectful--the sales associate was not overly friendly today. Maybe it was a bad day or she had a personal issue. I think I annoyed her by asking where the reception desk had gone. Other questions were likewise met with mild annoyance ( about how to recognize items made in North America vs those produced in cheaper Asian markets) I also remarked that the staff had changed since last year and I was told it hadn't. (I guess I was wrong) But when I asked about taking a picture off the wall, the same associate said, "if you are going to buy it!" That's when said "Did you think I was going to?" I then remarked I had felt a "frosty reception" since I arrived. She apologized, though I told her she didn't need to, and I bought my picture from her and left. ( All I could think of was that I would labeled a Karen) But, in the end', It was a jarring experience to be sure. Another sales associate offered to bubble wrap the picture (a nice gesture) but I declined, as I was not driving far. Interestingly, the associate said she had helped me last year after I asked who had sold me apiece last summer. I don't enjoy a lot of cheap furniture or design items, so coming to EA is always a joy, but this time there were some pieces that looked tacky and some garish pictures of tigers and lions and other exotic animals on black backgrounds. Of course, style is in the eye of the beholder. Most of what they sell is tasteful. And they have a free design service. Will I come back to Ethan Allen? Yes, I will, but I do hope that the atmosphere in Bluffton is more welcoming next time. In the Lexington, Kentucky, store the reception desk ( yes, they still have one) is always much friendlier. read more

Customer service is TERRIBLE. Have a problem? They could care less. They want their payment before delivery but you have no leverage if there is an issue. DO NOT buy their Gold Protection insurance plan. They will find 1,000 reasons they will not honor your policy! I had 3 homes decorated by EA but when there was a problem they bailed. BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! P.S. This review is only for the Bluffton, SC store. I spent almost $20,000 for furniture and the salesperson didn't even acknowledge me when I went into the store the next time!!!!! read more

Purchased a sofa in November and were told sofa would be ready for delivery "around March 3" but "would most likely not take this long." Well the sofa arrived today May 1. You do the math. Customer service was lacking with poor communication. They get your money and seem to just wash their hands of you. As for the sofa, you can tell it is well made however, the recliner foot rest is slanted when in use and I spent at least 30 minutes rubbing off some type of glue like residue from the entire leather surface of the sofa. For a furniture store that is supposed to be one of the finest, this was a very sad experience and I can promise you I will never shop there again! read more

We recently relocated to the Bluffton area and needed some new furniture. We went to Ethan Allen and were fortunate to have Lauren help us design our new living room. When the new pieces arrived, the delivery team provided white glove service. They were polite, prompt and careful with every item - even the accent pillows! A few weeks later Lauren followed up with us and asked to visit our home to see the furniture in place. We were impressed with her concern for our satisfaction with our purchase. We have bought furniture from Ethan Allen for years from 3 different locations. When we moved to Bluffton we brought our 15 year old large sectional with us. It was looking a little beat up, particularly the cushions. Our Ethan Allen designer, Lauren Cutshaw, suggested that we buy new inserts for the cushions. We had the sectional steam cleaned, the inserts were installed this week and it looks brand new. Sits a little harder but still very comfortable. How is that for a story of Ethan Allen durability!!! read more

What a beautiful store!! The minute I walked in, I was greeted by a very friendly receptionist. She was helpful and within a matter of minutes, I was working with a talented designer. She offered me a number of solutions for our home, and showed me fabric samples, window treatment options, and gave me several ideas for our great room. I purchased a dining room table and chair set for my new home in Beaufort SC. It was delivered a month ago and I have been very disappointed with the quality and customer service. The screws keep coming out from under the chair cushions so the cushions don't stay in place. The screws are to short. The table where it joined together in the middle isn't even so it doesn't close together tight. We had someone from the store come out. They took pictures and said someone would contact us. One day we received a call and said someone was in the area that day and could we be home. I called and said yes. They never showed up or called back. My husband then called and the response was it is difficult to get someone out to take care of problems. What???? Where is the customer service. Pay a large amount of money for quality and service and get neither. Here we sit a month later with inadequate furniture and no customer service. read more

Beautiful, quality furniture and accessories. I have purchased several pieces of furniture from them (triple library bookcase, buffet, coffee table) and all were impressive additions to my home. I have worked with several sales associates and all were helpful. It is more expensive than some other furniture stores in Bluffton/Hilton Head area, but they do run good sales often and the quality of the furniture is worth the higher price. We did have a minor issue with one of the bookcase doors not closing completely, but they sent a furniture repair person to the house at no charge and the door was fixed. read more
