In reality, I'm in the process of scoping out post-pet furniture and stopped into Ethan Allen for a quick look-see. Apparently, they won't let you shop in peace unless you provide an Experian credit report upon entry. Just for the record, why would I pay full price when their Labor Day will net at least a 30% savings. Otherwise, Ethan Allen sells high quality traditional furniture that helps bring out your inner Betsy Ross. I'll probably return but just back off, lower your musket and dial it down a notch. The sales reps ignored me the entire 30 minutes I was there. Never once came over to ask if I needed help. Even if they were helping others, say hello and someone will be right over. They looked my way several times but that's it. I guess I looked too poor to be bothered with. I went to the King of Prussia location and spent $9000. read more

Although our initial visit to this store was disappointing, I called and complained to the store manager; She connected us with another consultant, and we have purchased two living room items since; we're currently in the process of choosing backyard furniture now! Our consultant, Alka, is awesome! She is detailed oriented, she listens to wants & needs, and she works hard preparing options for the rooms/spot. We highly recommend Alka. If you are looking for furniture, she will come to your house and measure the space to ensure that the furniture fits in correctly. Service is exceptional. read more

Walked in today as we were looking for interior design help and were ready to buy furniture for our new home. My wife (Sri Lanken) was the target of very condescending and racist comments by a store employee!! Whow!! "Are you serious about buying here? Can you afford it? We will only give advice if you're buying our furniture. Etc " Whow!! Never Ethan Allen again. We will look for other options to buy furniture with great customer service for our new home. We had a terrible experience with Ethan Allen at Princeton location. We purchased about $9,000 worth of furniture and received unacceptable subpar quality of services and products. It is shame that EA's best interest is to protect its sales and the company does not offer any reasonable return policy even if its products are defective, damaged, or sub-par quality. Don't be fooled by its premium price and presentation. EA does not carry reputable brand value as it used to. We purchased a EA's TEMPUR-Pedic customized mattress and adjustable foundation, which were sold together as comparable unit as presented at the showroom. However, when these products were delivered, the set up was done incompletely. We also identified that these products were not comparable units and it creates a HUGE (7'' to 9'') gap between mattress and its foundation. EA technician was sent to rectify the problem, but he was not able to resolve the problem because he was just a sub-contractor who was not familiar with Ethan Allen products. After over a month of working with the store manager, the conclusion was that we should ACCEPT and KEEP the products as-is because they tested and validated that they have the same problem with 4 other units at Ethan Allan. Really? The best solution was to lower the EA's standard of quality to keep its sales? I also validated with other Tempur-Pedic authorized retailers that these two products are not comparable and it would damage the mattress. Shop at your risk at Ethan Allen. Love the design...but the quality sucks! I will never buy Ethan Allen furniture again. Bought a room full of furniture and 16 months later the couch fabric is fraying, the coffee table and entertainment unit chip too easily. Was told by the store it is out of warranty and I should have purchased the extra warranty. I should have known better after the paint on our kitchen table chairs flaked off after a few years and the buttons on another chair came off. Ethan Allen quality sucks! read more

My wife and I recently purchased a couch from this store and were very happy with our experience. We were looking to make an investment in a high quality couch that would last us a long time, and were fairly particular about how it would feel, dimensions, material, etc. After stopped by the numerous major furniture retailers along the Route 1 corridor, we quickly determined that Ethan Allen would be our best choice to meet our particular criteria. Ethan Allen presented us with a lot of options for style, dimensions, material, and feel. Additionally, TJ was our Ethan Allen in-store rep and she was absolutely phenomenal. She didn't push us toward anything in particular, and listened closely as we listed out our fragmented ideas. She steered us in the right direction and clearly laid out our options with associated price points. Based on her conduct during the design and accessibility after we made the purchase, I'd return to Ethan Allen for my next significant furniture purchase. The only downside to our experience was a long period between the order and delivery. While the purchase contract stated up front that it could take a fairly long time to build our customized couch, we naturally wish it could have come sooner. Even so, TJ was responsive entire time in updating us on the status of the couch and the window for delivery. read more

A great store with a dynamic and creative team. They helped me decorate my beach house in a transitional style and pushed my creativity to a fresh new look. I am so happy with the result that fits our style and the needs of our large and active family. Once again I'm working with TJ Simone to decorate our new home which will be more traditional with an edge. Tj is able to blend the preferences of me and my husband, to come up with a functional and beautiful plan for each space. Very disappointing experience with Ethan Allen. We did buy pieces of furniture that we are very happy with, but the service left much to be desired. Our designer came to the house and told us she would come up with three design plans based on our meeeting wherein we discussed color, layout, floors being refinished, window treatments, etc. We did meet her at the store a couple of weeks later to find she used a color palette that was exactly what we said we were NOT interested in. She chose a paint color for the walls that was a couple shades different than the color we already had and one of the furniture layout designs was exactly the way we had our current furniture placed in the room. This room was used as a family room and was being changed to a formal living room. She did not seem to have the creativity to make this change and create an elegant living room. The furniture took way longer than the timeframe we were given and when it arrived one piece was actually broken and our armrest covers for our sofa were both for the same arm, obviously not fitting. We sent back the broken piece which took, again, an extremely long time to be replaced and to date, over one year later, we are still waiting for the correct armrest covers. She actually suggested I cut them into squares so that they could be placed on either arm. REALLY???? The window treatments were the kicker. After spending hours looking at fabric choices and approving a drawing for window treatments, which I stated I wished to be light and soft allowing daylight to fill the room, we ordered our window treatments. We were told it would be approximately 8 weeks for them to be complete. Eight weeks later I received a call stating they discontinued the fabric I chose....eight weeks later! So I needed to go in and pick a new fabric because there are no cancellations or refunds once you sign the order. I did go pick a new fabric and eight more weeks later my window treatments arrived....kind of. Not all the parts were there so the Ethan Allen contracted installer put them up and they are VERY heavy curtains that do not in any way, shape or form, lay on the window as the picture depicted. They darken the room completely. A couple weeks later the additional pieces came in and I called the designer and asked that she come put the tiebacks on so that the curtains would look like the drawing. She did show up but was unable to make these heavy draperies look light and airy. Again, I am stuck with window treatments I am displeased with. When I expressed to her that I truly do not like them and they are not at all what we discussed or what was expected, her response was "I'm sorry to hear that." That's it. Then she left. In all, we spent approximately $25,000 redoing our living room by repainting per her suggestion, having our hardwood floors refinished, ordering all furniture, purchasing a large area rug and window treatments. Sadly, this is the room in my house I like the least and would not shop at Ethan Allen again. read more

We went to the Ethan Allen store in Princeton, NJ and met a great designer, {" Mack"] who helped us select two terrific living room chairs [one that I taking complete control over !!] and found great colors that go well with our complicated Oriental rug. She traveled a fair distance to our house, took lots of time with us and never pressured us in any way to purchase or to "overspend". It was more like dealing with a family member , making recommendations on style, shape and color. It was a pleasure working with Mack and we hope to do more in the future with her. read more
