Marc the owner is an ignorant, unprofessional and incompetent person. His contractor Shawn is exactly the same. Do NOT get your carpet or flooring here! Shawn gave me a quote for installation of a runner. He told me to buy the wrong materials, showed up 2 hours late, installed the runner which came off completely after 1 day, then asked me for MORE money to fix what was done poorly in the first place. Marc the owner took no responsibility and just screamed and harassed me for inquiring about it. Marc the owner cannot be trusted nor can his contractor Shawn. Do NOT go here. read more

Places like the Paint Barn are part of a dying breed. The Home Depots and Lowe's of the world are squeezing them out, and that's a shame. Sometimes you just want to go somewhere that focuses on a few things, and does them very well. While I know Paint Barn does materials for flooring and stairs, I've never used their services for this, so I can't comment on that. They are also a Benjamin Moore supplier, and I used them when I repainted my house's interior about seven years ago. Fast-forward to last weekend, when a series of unfortunate events befell a rambunctious child and lead to a mounted shelf being pulled from the wall. Child was fine. Wall was not. I needed to patch and repaint four small sections in the wall. Problem was, no more touch up paint. I took a small chunk of the wall that had fallen out with me, and they were able to match the color and finish perfectly. Sometimes it's a nice to do some one-stop shopping, and sometimes you want a specialist. When you need the later for your paint needs, the Paint Barn is a good choice. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. HORRIBLE, RUDE SERVICE. I went with my father to buy some wood stain & get some advice on refinishing our staircase. Mark is the main sales person at the store, and he was *extremely* rude & unhelpful. This was one of the worst customer experiences I have ever had. Half the store is for paint supplies, another half of the store has hardwood floors & stair treads. When we asked Mark for a price for one of the hardwood floors, he asked us to come back tomorrow- just to get the price. When we asked if there were any way to get a price today, seeing how we had come all the way to the store, Mark got very angry. Apparently, he didn't want to give us the price, and our asking for it was unacceptable to him. He *actually* kicked us out of the store. When we asked if he was "forcibly" pushing us out, he said (and I quote) "I haven't laid hands on you- yet". I think this speaks for itself. Only go here if you want to be insulted & bullied around. There are many better places than this. read more

I have been going to paint barn for at least 10 years. I have had them install window treatments on all homes or investment properties owned and occupied. This has included 4 large homes with anywhere between 15-35 Windows each. The customer service, suggestions, time to complete the installations and all pricing were all exceptional and never a problem. I totally trust this place with their quality and pricing. I've had everything from mini blinds, wooden blinds, verticals to roller shades and plantation shutters installed. Never an issue with the quality and always timely and professional. I recently had a water leak in the kitchen and needed to replace a section of the flooring. I did an extensive online search for prices since I new that the flooring had to be ordered directly from the manufacturer. Paint Barn went out of his way to save me on the shipping cost by allowing me to pick up the floors directly from the manufacturer's distribution center located near my home; none of the other stores offered me this option. Not only was I impressed with the price offered by Paint Barn but the customer service was outstanding from my first telephonic inquiry to the follow-up email from Marc Goldman to make sure that I was able to pick-up the flooring from the distribution center without any problems. We stopped by at Paint Barn to look at some wallpapers and were surprised to see their collection. They had every kind of wallpaper we could think of. The staff was very patient with us and helped us pick a wallpaper that was perfect. We also bought some paint from them and they mixed and showed us samples of all the paints we requested. WILL NEVER RETURN. I found the customer service unacceptable and will never return to this store. I went into the store on the morning of a weekday in order to receive some advice on a color sample. First, I had to seek out help - no one seemed to want to assist; then, the person who I asked for assistance was very rude, abrupt, and unwilling to provide any advice or assistance. I was told that they would not and could not give advice on any colors, and they would not give any consultation without a deposit. I didn't want a "consultation" - I merely wanted some advice. I will never again return to this store, and I will seek any opportunity to tell everyone I know that they should never go here. read more

As I write this review, I notice another review from September, truthfully describing the attitude of Mark. I have been a customer of this store since 2006, when I purchased 25 gallons of Aura paint. I returned to this store when beginning to decorate a new condo, even though there was another Benjamin Moore dealer in the my town with an excellent reputation. My wife and I drove to the Paint Barn to look for a couple of gallons of Aura, a quart of Cabinet Coat and about 45 yards of high quality carpeting. We took home paint swatches and priced some carpets, with samples being sent from the mill. We told Mark that we were in a rush and needed installation the following week. He said that he would do whatever it took to make that happen. I received a phone call that that the samples were in, and drove to pick them up. The following day I made another trip to pick up one of the paints and asked a question about the pricing of one of the carpets. I was told that Mark was the only one who could answer that and he wasn't in. I asked if I could get a measurement that day or evening and was told that I would have to wait for Mark. I was then getting nervous about the delivery and decided to call another store where I received immediate action. Mark then returned the call the following day (not first thing), leaving messages, but I had already placed my order and another dealer was having the order hot shipped from the mill. Today Mark called when I was home and I took the call to let him know what had transpired. He got annoyed at me for not waiting for him (ignoring the fact that I had a rush need for the installation), flew off the handle and told me to stop wasting his time and to never come in his store again!!! I would hate for there to be a problem with any installation of his, with this kind of attitude and this kind of response!!! read more

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. They gave me the wrong paint color and then told me it was "my word against theirs" when I went back to exchange the paint for the color I had originally asked for. Ace Hardware in Princeton has Benjamin Moore- My advice, go there. read more

The products Paint Barn carries are decent and that's the only reason they get one star. Mark's attitude will put Paint Barn out of business. He kicked me out of the store because I mentioned seeing the same product in another store for a lower price. Paint Barn is simply a distributor of products you can find at numerous other places with better service and pricing. Highly suggest staying away since this seems to be a repetitive pattern with this establishment. read more

I will NEVER use Paint Barn again. Rude does not even describe the attitude in the store. Not one time did they reach out to me or call me about my order. I called them numerous times. One time I called at 5:50 pm to ask a question and the owner said "we are closing" and would not let me even ask the question. When I said it was fine but I only had a quick questions he said "do you want to cancel your order". I was not calling to cancel. Stuck it out cause the order was paid for but will never ever suggest them to anyone nor recommend. It was the worst experience I have had with a business owner. read more

I was looking for 950 square feet of Mannington Laminate Flooring. I called on a Saturday and they told me they would check stock and return my call on Monday. 9AM the phone rings with a positive report. Told me it would be in Thursday. Again, 9AM they call with the arrival. I interviewed a half a dozen prospective vendors. Mark(one of the owners) was polite, product knowledgable, and engaging. Forget the Big box stores and big highway "discounters". I am 1000% happy. I also picked up molding samples etc. They have a large well stocked show room with all flooring options and they are a Benjamin Moore dealer. Been in business since 1970! They must be doing something right! This is my first ever Yelp post. Yes, I was impressed and look forward to buying carpet and tile next. read more
