I would give a zero rating if I could. My mother died in April and I brought her urn to Eubanks funeral home on May 27, 2021 and requested that she be buried next to my dad and that her name and date of death would be engraved on the head marker. It is August 16, and still it is not done. Every time I call up and ask for Shanda I'm told she's either on the other line or not in the office. I've left several messages for her to return my call but to no avail. I am in the process of filing a complaint with the FTC, Better Business Bureau, the Attorney General's office and may go as far as hiring an attorney. Took hours to pick my mom's body up from the hospital after promising to be there in an hour. Would not return phone calls. When I finally got in to make arrangements they were more interested in selling me jewelry than anything else. Did not offer to help with an obituary. Made me sit through a slideshow of what they had to offer as far as jewelry and services. Mom had a prepaid plan and all the guys I talk about is what a great deal I was getting. Mom had her plan for 38 years I'm sure they made money. Would not recommend this to anyone still waiting on death certificates. Three weeks my mom laid on a table at their mortuary and they didn't bother to tell me They didn't have a death certificate yet. Took me 10 minutes to get it. Worst experience ever. My father died unexpectedly at his home in Gun Barrel City. I had no idea what to do and not living there myself, I didn't know what funeral home to contact to come pick him up. I was told that this location was good with veterans and my dad was a navy veteran, so I contacted them. Within 30 minutes they were at his house to pick him up. Once he was loaded in their van, one of the people went over my options. My dad wanted to be cremated and have his ashes released into the water on a cruise, so that's what I did. I filled out the paperwork and said I wanted to be notified when the cremation would take place. They called me before and after the process was completed. I was told I could pick him up the next day. They put the urn in a white bag all labeled and very professional. I found the staff, from the people who came on site to get him to the people who work with the families, to be very professional and sensitive. I mean it's not the best of circumstances, but they made it as painless as possible. read more

Apologies can only go so far. This has by far been the worst experience in dealing a business during a time of trauma. First of all, the embalming was terrible and the viewing was embarrassing. They did not even have the proper personnel present to finish prepping our sister for viewing. They apologized and we moved forward. After the viewing, they were to cremate her and we were to have a memorial service five days later. On the evening before the memorial, we contacted them to pick up the urn of her remains. They advised that they did not have her ready and that there was a drop of the communication ball from one representative to the other. All we got was apologies. One of the representatives, Christy, actually did do everything she could do to get it done and drove the remains to the memorial. She is the only one who showed any compassion. They hounded one of our family members who was one her way to pay her part after work. They had been advised but still called to harass her. Again apologizing that there had been a lack of communication. Finally, after all was said and done, we had ordered small treasures with some of her remains for each family member. When we went to pick them up, we were charged an additional fee with them stating that someone had called and canceled one of the items so it was not paid for. That makes no sense as we paid for all of the items up front. They are totally a scam and families dealing with such a traumatic situation should not be put through the cold treatment and excuses this place provides. If it were not for Christy, I would not rate them even a one star. Find another funeral home. Your loved ones deserve better. read more

My Granny passed away very unexpectedly. It was one of the hardest things that our family had to deal with. Aaron and Christine were right there guiding us along and answering all of our questions. The viewing went on spectacularly. She looked beautiful. The funeral was elegant. I really appreciate the kindness of the whole staff during such a painful time in our lives. read more

Where do I start? We lost my mother unexpectedly to a heart attack and were completely lost on where to go and how to plan her funeral as she lives in the small town area. The pastor from her church mentioned Eubanks. My sister and I set up an appointment and proceeded with their services. We were welcomed and handle with what seemed like care and reassured not to worry about anything. Eubanks posted our mothers obituary online and we noticed several words and names misspelled. Calls were made to correct the errors and several days past with no corrections. Keep in mind this facility is an hour away for my sister and I. Eventually, I had to physically go to the funeral home to get the errors corrected. It was then we noticed that the address for our mothers memorial service was incorrect now. Eubanks eventually corrected that after several phone calls. Day of the service arrives and the memorial service flyers and flowers for the service did not arrive until 10 am which was the exact time the service started. Death certificates were ordered and discussed during the initial consultation and finally received @ 30 plus days later. My mothers life insurance carrier called and rejected them because her SSN was not put on them. Eubanks was contacted and now here we are at an additional 30 days past her passing and still no death certificates. Due to this huge error we are unable access my mothers bank accounts, her life insurance, move forward with liquidating her estate like her house, her vehicles, her retirement benefits ... almost 90 days since she passed away and we are literally stuck waiting on this facility to do there job and do it correctly. Worst experience ever and the only semblance of empathy we receive from eubanks is an "I'm sorry." Despite the positive reviews avoid this place. "Its only 1 or 2 negative reviews." But would you want to be that one who is in our shoes? Didnt think we would be here either but here we are. read more
