My family just purchased a home and needed some help with new cabinetry for our kitchen, bar area and a custom cabinet created. The person I talked with on the phone was very condescending and unwilling to work with me unless I told him my family's income. In his words they only work with "High-end, more wealthy clients" because he didn't want it to be a "waste of his time." The ability to pay for a service is something that the client can determine- not be asked about within the first 5 minutes of a conversation. To determine whether or not you have a discussion moving forward with someone on the phone based solely off of their income is incredibly judgemental and insulting. This person, Paul, has no idea that he just lost a job that could have been a large account. Money is not an issue for my family, someone judging me and unwilling to have a conversation with me based off of this information is. I feel badly for any person out there who is just looking for information and will not receive it because their income is not high enough. read more
