We have been working with Mingle and Studio M on a project that isn't really huge, but we have received amazing customer service and attention every single time we come in. I have been working with Carly from Studio M who is coordinating the design side of the project. To address the previous reviewers complaint about Mingle not taking small jobs, there is something this reviewer is leaving out. Studio M will not contribute design help until you sign a contract for their time as they are a separate but complimentary entity that provides extra design services for Mingle clients. It would be absurd to expect a design firm to provide free services without a contract. Also, it would be absurd to expect a company to place an order with their supplier without a deposit. So, it is possible the communication from the previous reviewer was a bit poor. But, back to my review. First of all, our project was well under 50K. I would estimate it around 20-25K. And I have to admit that Mingle's opulent showroom initially intimidated me so much, I went through the doors with a great deal of skepticism. However, I am happy to have been proven very wrong about the perception that they would only work with big jobs. I was very upfront with them about the size of our new home and they remained unflinchingly helpful. Love love love working with Carly and Mike. We came to Mingle in a panic after realizing the cabinet supplier the builder was using just wasn't providing the service we needed. After losing weeks with the previous supplier, we were up against a wall, and Mike worked quickly with my husband to put together drawings and a quote. Then, Carly and I tweeked the layout and wood selection. It was an extremely quick process that went smoothly because of Mike and Carly's the high levels of experience, expertise and professionalism. Because Carly is an independent designer, I am able to bring items, swatches, and ideas from outside of Mingle, while utilizing the amazing selection Mingle offers. The process Studio M offers is really very fluid and flexible and helped me immensely in getting design decisions made and move our project along quickly. I am not a designer and I have never liked the selection process, but working with Carly has been extremely enjoyable because of her ability to assess and offer up reasonable options that fit my needs. Our meetings have been at Mingle, on-site and at a tile shop so far, but I look forward to using Carly's services throughout this design selection process and so appreciate her ability to help set priorities in the design and building process. read more

Note to prospective customers: Mingle says they accept projects of all sizes, but you will be ignored if your project / budget is under $50k. Go elsewhere and don't waste your time with them. Here is our experience: We dropped in on a weekend to discuss a remodeling project for our Maple Grove home. We were hoping for guidance on how their services work and to get started on our own remodel project, but we were told that they cannot talk about our project until we sign a contract and agree to work with them. At this point in our project we were still trying to determine if the remodel we wanted was physically possible (i.e., could we knock out certain walls and move laundry machines, etc.). They said we can bring in pictures and they can look at it - but I was more comfortable having a contractor actually see the space in person to make that determination. Again, I was told that I would need to sign a contract before any of that could happen. I asked if we could at least speak with a contractor first to determine if it was feasible; I wasn't about to commit to a project and provide a retainer fee when we didn't know if it would even be possible. They reluctantly agreed to send me a few names of contractors so I could reach out to them. I gave my phone number & email to the Mingle representative, but we never heard back from her. I later followed up with an email to her and she never responded. A royal brush off and great way to do business, Mingle. Not impressed in the least. We thought we'd give them another chance, however. Maybe we just got the wrong person and would have better luck next time. My husband called and got directed to the appropriate person - but had to leave a message. That message - left at least 2 weeks ago - remains unreturned and I have no confidence that they will ever call. Another fumble for team Mingle! They will, however, see me one more time - when I triumphantly return to Pretty Woman them with the receipts from my completed project. Maybe that will encourage them to pay more attention to customers in the future; I'm not sure how they can manage to run their business otherwise. Good luck to them. read more

OMG! How are there no reviews yet for this wonderful, magical, enchanting place? I came here as part of a training/tour with one of the cabinet manufacturers my company works with, and it is stunning. Think high end H.D. Buttercup if you are from the Bay Area.....but WITH kitchen cabinets, tile, and bathroom vanities, aside from all the wonderful selections of decor that complete any home remodel. There are many many vignettes that display an array of different style genres - from contemporary to tradional, transitional to rustic and even more. There were beautiful countertops, decorative light fixtures, pulls and knobs, area rugs, mirrors, art pieces....I could just go on and on! They also have in-house designers to help their clients (even though I can't really give feedback on that as I was there for a different reason). They even have a presentation area where groups can come to sit during a seminar or training event. If I lived herein MN, this is probably where you would find me morning, noon and night. read more

I have worked with Mingle on numerous projects including: outdoor kitchens, home remodels, product purchase and sourcing. They are able to bring you a whole different world for cabinetry, products and design that not many places can give you. All their designers and design assistants understand that good design and material selection must combine the architectural features of the house along with their client's desires. I have recommended them to dozens of people and my wife and I will only use their services for our own home. They are the only place in town in my book! read more

We recently used Mingle to purchase items for a master bath and kitchen remodeling project. To be honest, Mingle has been quite a disappointment. Their showroom is absolutely beautiful and our initial impression of their personnel was good. However, project execution has been a nightmare. Dates for our countertop installation was missed not by days but by WEEKS! And a number of items were either defective or missing from our order. I found them not to work well with our subcontractor either. I would not recommend using them. read more

We worked with Mingle a 1 1/2 years ago on a kitchen counter. The experience was painful but I was committed because I loved the countertop and could not locate it at another location. After I suffered through 3 months of rudeness, hidden costs totaling more than an extra $825 that were not originally disclosed and unreturned calls and emails, I vowed (over my gorgeous Cambria counters) I would never return for the cabinets and other kitchen and bath remodel needs. Fast forward 1 1/2 years and I apparently had a lapse in judgement as I contacted them regarding another kitchen remodel for another property. Long story short - skip the trip to Mingle. Find yourself a design house without the attitude. There are plenty of sources who will value your invested money no matter the amount. There are plenty of sources who will be human and non- condescending. read more

Mingle, with it's beautiful displays and top-of-the-line products is just a big bait and no-show. Twice, I've tried to contact one of their in-house specialists with money in hand, ready to order tile or install high-end fixtures and twice, I've had to work so hard to get a return phone call it was like a part time job. Their reception staff is very pleasant and sales-oriented but they neglect to tell you that it may be days before your call is returned and the person who returns your call may charge you $125 an hour to help. This place has so much potential! And they must be calling SOMEONE back because they are still open for business - but so far, it's not me. Go there to look, but hire someone else to get the work done. read more

They have good products and friendly staff when we went there to visit. Then we were told that a senior designer will contact us to schedule something. Never received the call for 4 days until I called back. Then I was told they would need to charge us $1000 to come out and see the space to do a measurement and figure out the design. I understand that it costs money to do to drive up and takes time to do the initial approach, but this business model doesn't makes sense at all when I'm not married to their products yet, nor did I know the rough price of the project I wanna work on. I insisted on obtaining a per sqft price range at least for the selected cabinets only so that I can get even an idea of how much we would be looking at financially. $10,000 vs. $50,000 are a big difference. But the answer was negative. So I assume this place just want you to pay a high enough money first, so that you would feel obligated to go to someone else since you've already made financial commitment. read more

Walking into to Mingle is amazing, very beautiful but the choice of going with Residential Technology Systems for home automation is a bit scary. Res Tech, as they call themselves, is the new formation of the bankrupted Apollo Systems. Hopefully you aren't the one holding the bag next time the President of Res Tech, Dan Woody goes bankrupt and starts a new company a week later. Mingle=incredible, Res Tech=stay clear. read more
