I went to my usual stylist and she did a FANTASTIC job correcting the correction, and cut as little as she could while still maintaining my length. Sadly, and despite her best efforts, my near waist length hair was totally fried. Fast forward about six weeks: I'd just had surgery and wasn't super mobile, but I wanted the straw that once was my hair cut off, so I thought I'd swing by a salon close to me. I was a little apprehensive, as I knew nothing about the place, and could find only a couple of reviews, but it was that or hack my hair off with a kitchen knife. So I took the plunge. BEST. DECISION. EVER. I asked for a chin length stacked bob. The stylist was super thorough in her questions, incredibly sweet, and gave me a haircut that may be the best haircut in the history of mankind. This woman can cut curly hair like she invented it. For thirty bucks. For real. I haven't paid thirty bucks for a haircut since I was a child. I wish I could remember her name. The stylist beside us was almost bumping into me because the stylists' workspaces are so small and crowded. Plus, a man getting a haircut with the barber was literally facing straight at me -- awkward!!!! The new space feels unfinished, deenergizing and sterile. I'm sorry but I can not stand that passerbys in the mall can see me in my unkept state due to the two large panes of uncovering windows. Couldn't there at least be frosting on the windows for privacy? Sadly, I would not go there if it weren't for Tifini. For the cost of services, the environment should be MUCH better. Their new facility is crowded and noisy and not the least bit inviting. It's windows are also open to the mall and clients feel like they're in a fishbowl. So much for a relaxed quiet visit to Angles - it's now tiny, crowded, noisy and the exact opposite of "relaxing".

As I sat down in the chair Shivani interduce herself and then proceeded to start my pedicure. She was very polite and answered every question I was asking, always with a smile. My services that I received there today were in my opinion the best I have every experienced. I certainly will be going back and would totally recommend APBB services. I also chatted with one of the male stylist there and explained that my hair cut was completely done wrong. He asked if I would take off my hat to let him see. He was on point to the mistakes that another stylist (Another Business) had done. Again friendly and approachable. I was even given a coffee to enjoy while I was getting my pedicure!!! I've gotten reddish hI-lights REPEATEDLY. Told my hair just lifts warm. I had a long time, 19+ years, stylist. I changed to a younger funkier stylist. 2x I didn't get what I wanted. I was very sad. I was leaving for holiday in a few weeks and really wanted my hair "did" for it. I asked a friend who she goes to cuz her hair is magnificent, she said Leah was her girl. Leah was booked the friendly receptionist suggested Sam and I could get in the next day. I booked then almost canceled. I was terrified of getting something ugly. I went even though I was so scared. I arrived 20 minutes early. The receptionist greeted me and offered a hot cuppa coffee and shortly after Sam came and got me. I showed him a few, many lol, pics on my Pinterest and he said yes we can do that. Not today but we'll get started. I thought oh great this song and dance again. I've heard this !!! He said I see a icy blonde and get rid of the uneven black... Balance it out. Within 45 minutes I was under the drier and then the sink, waiting for my hair to process and lift. The sink had a foot rest and was THE most comfy wash chair I'd ever been in. Sam explained everything he did along the way. He cut my hair and taught the receptionist how he does layers. He was kind and patient with her. Asking questions about her schooling and being so supportive and enthusiastic about her progress. Sam cut my hair and left it longer than I wanted but it looked AWESOME!!!! He trimmed a tad more, blew it dry then had the receptionist curl my hair. She was so sweet. Talkative and kind. She took me outside to take pics and then cashed me out. Sam came over to wish me well and thank me for my business. I took my own pics and sent them to my hubby and daughter. They both loved my hair and even commented that it's NEVER looked so good. I will most definitely be back and will tell everyone to go there !!!!!

I have been looking for a hairdresser for a couple of years after coming to Calgary. I have asked women on the streets if I thought their cuts were done nicely. Then I would go and check the salons spending lots of money and having one failure after another. Sometimes the I would go to the same place for 2-3 times until they ruin my hair or make a fatal mistake in cutting. And then repeat ad nauseum. Finally I got lucky. I saw a lady with a great haircut, I made a compliment, she said she gets great comments about her hair every time, I got the address and the name. It was early March and I had to wait for two weeks to get an appointment. " He must be popular"- I said to the receptionist. "Oh, yes!"-she said with pride in her voice. Sam is great. He is never pushy. He will ask what you want but I prefer to ask _him_ what is the best for my hair. His salon carries a line of products but he never up-sells. And the products work, too. Life is so much easier when you have a great hair dresser. ;-))

My stylist today was Diana, she listened to what I had to say and gave suggestions along the way. Diana was very professional and easy to talk to. Having a personable stylist to me is just as important as the hair cut. Stylists and clients at other chairs joined in on conversations as well, it was like a big group of friends getting together. I walked out today with a great hair cut, my hair feels so much lighter and much healthier. I am usually the girl that gets to the car and has a cry about my hair so this was an amazing experience for me. I also had the pleasure of meeting the owner of the salon who does esthetics.
