The jasmine pearl buds are supposed to open up when you infuse it in hot water. (A friend of mine gifted me this from Singapore many years ago and I was happy to have found this again). A couple of weeks ago, when my in laws were in town, we decided to visit Annapolis on a Sunday afternoon. The Spice & Tea Exchange was one of the shops we wandered into while exploring Main Street. The store has hundreds of spices and teas, some of which aren't easy to find at grocery stores. On this visit, I picked up some horseradish powder and a couple of teas (Russian black and infused green). On top of having a really great selection (whether you're shopping for yourself or for gifts), their customer service is really great - so friendly and helpful. If you're wandering down Main Street, don't pass by - especially if you're a cook or you like a daily cup of tea!

Popped into The Spice & Tea Exchange right before leaving Fells Point to grab some tea for my mom's…read morebirthday... and wow, I was not prepared for how much I'd love this place. The selection is incredible. So many teas and spices that it's almost overwhelming in a good way. Everything is displayed in glass jars, and you can smell each one, which makes the whole experience feel interactive and fun instead of rushed or generic. I ended up buying way more than planned: multiple types of paprika (smoked sweet, smoked hot), several garlic salts, truffle salt, seasonings for myself, and a whole assortment of teas for my mom plus a few for me because obviously. Every blend smelled amazing, and the quality feels top tier. This is the kind of store where you could easily spend an hour just wandering, sniffing, and dreaming up meals. I'll absolutely be back. I also recently found out there's a location closer to me in Lancaster, so that one is officially on my list too.
