A mainstay of downtown Milford and one of the better coffee shops in the state. Dolce offers a solid selection of drinks, pastries, and hot food items. It can be pretty crowded and busy during peak hours (especially weekend mornings), but service is quick and they don't skimp on drink quality. Some of the pastries on display looked a little old and the prices were a little high. My latte was more milk-heavy than I expected and the shot pulled wasn't very strong. Not really a study spot, but great for grab-and-go. A few small tables in and outdoors plus a few stools are available for patrons. read more

This coffee house is on the Main Street in Milford, the whole street is so stinkin cute! The Gingerbread latte with almond milk I had was perfect! I even debated driving back from Rehoboth Beach for more! I got their pumpkin swirl cake and it was only alright. They had hand made koozies by one of the baristas that I couldn't pass up! Stopped in today for a Chai Latte, hot , and it didn't disappoint, added a slice of coffee cake, and I was a happy camper.., it is nicely laid out for a spot with about four two person tables, a sofa and a couple of comfy chairs.. the menu is all the coffee drinks you can think of, and some cold bottled juices are on offer .. the two behind the counter were efficient, but not very outgoing.. My fave coffee shop! Well, tea shop, because I don't drink coffee. They are always friendly and honestly that is so underrated here in DE. It's a cute spot to have a quick meeting, get a little work done, or just relax between shopping trips. My husband and I came here to this bakery shop before they closed. We made it in time. I was surprised at how reasonable the prices were for everything.. My husband and I decided to get an assortment of cookies. He also decided to get the Tumeric tea, which was actually interesting and delicious too. After we received everything, we decided to sit down and have half of the cookie to try them out. We decided to get Chocolate Chip Cookies Old Bay Sugar Cookie - They tasted exactly how it sounds. Sugar cookie Philly Buttercake - very, very delicious. A little bit too sweet, I only had half of it. Gooey Chocolate - interesting. My husband was trying to see if it was raw cookie batter or what the stuff was in the middle of the cookie. Canoile cookie - It was alright. There's nothing to rave about. Walked in and was greeted warmly. I'm so happy I found this bakery. I ordered a bunch of cookies as they looked great and ordered a pumpkin bar ( which was so delicious and fresh) and some scones . A hidden gem in the city of Milford downtown. Quaint little storefront that offers yummy lattes and uniquely flavorful desserts. I had the key lime cupcake and philly butter cake square. The staff was very pleasant and the line moved quickly, as well as the coffee order. read more

We came down to Delaware on vacation and had to have Firestone look at my tires. Walking distance from this lovely little shop. Made it just in time at 3:30 for them to close at 4. Ordered 2 cookies, a latte and a tea. The cookies were AHHHmazing!!!! So soft and gooey.... And the beverages were perfect. The staff was very nice and quick to serve. We wandered into this coffee joint during our antique hunt and we were thoroughly impressed. After being warmly greeted by staff, we plunged into a few almond braids (DELECTABLE!), fresh hot matcha lattes, and great coffees. Everything was so good, we ordered a slew of baked goods to go. Cookies there at dolce, are fresh baked and delicious every single time! The coffee is rich, and flavorful. As well as, it never has that artificial taste you find in chain coffee shops. The service is always very pleasant from the moment you walk through the door, and always feels like a treat to go there. I always find myself staying there longer than anticipated, simply due to the ambiance. Which has just recently been improved by the remodel! This spot should win bakery of the century! Make sure you get there early because they sell out FAST! Their food is amazingly fresh, and the staff is super friendly. The space is small so I preferred to grab and go but if you want to have a bite with a friend and have some gal talk this place is perfect. We were actually in Milford looking for another restaurant when we saw this place. Got a pumpkin muffin, cherry danish and a Snickerdoodle. Hubby thought the muffin was just ok and after a bite I agree, it could have been moister and needed more sugar on top. The cherry danish was also mediocre but the Snickerdoodle was delicious- moist, buttery & just the right amount of cinnamon. We were passing through town around breakfast time when Dolce caught our eyes. What a gem! Wonderful coffee and lots of variations and the display cases were bursting with beautiful pastries - both breakfast yummies as well as desserts. Between us we had Philadelphia butter cake (to die for), almond braid, strawberry granola bar and a Danish. They were all delectable and some of the best I've ever had! Always a great place to stop. I'm probably there once a week! Family favorites are the Philadelphia butter cake, the breakfast cookies, and strawberry granola bars. If you like chocolate, gooey topped brownies, you have to try their Mispillion mud bar (Mispillion is the river that runs through town; the brownies are topped with marshmallows and a yummy chocolate ganache). They use locally roasted beans for their flavorful coffee drinks, with seasonal versions too! Cupcakes for a recent birthday party were absolutely beautiful and delicious. read more

Found this place in downtown Milford. Cute cafe and has variety of pastries. But I think if they'll serve a customer to dine inside, they should offer the pastry on a plate instead of a to-go paper bag and coffee or latte on a mug instead of a to-go cup. It's hard to a find a place nowadays that do serve you on a real plate and mug to enjoy the food. Overall it's a good place. read more

I found this place on Yelp during our 1500+ mile road trip home from Florida to Maine and decided that the reviews were worth the detour. Let me tell you, they did not disappoint. The store is cute and quaint, nestled in off the beaten path, which makes it easy to miss for someone passing through. There is limited dining area and those waiting to be served should be prepared to get close to anyone else waiting... However, though there appearance is small, they have something much bigger to offer... Upon walking into the store you are greeted with a friendly face and two cases stuffed with pastries, cookies, pies, cakes and more! I could not make up my mind and decided to get a selection to sample. I got: PA Buttermilk Bar This was amazing! It was a moist, custard-like bar that tastes rich, sweet and buttery. I likened it to butter beer which we recently had at HP World at Universal. I may make the 9 hour trip back just for this dessert! Cinnamon roll and pecan roll Both were moist and soft with just the right amount of sweetness. They are both generous in size and could easily be split with someone else, if you don't mind sharing. The cinnamon is covered with the traditional powdered sugar glaze while the pecan has a honey pecan drizzle. Almond crescent roll This is a flaky pastry dusted in powdered sugar and toasted almonds with a moist filling that is reminiscent of marzipan. This pastry is huge! Cupcakes We got peanut butter and red velvet. Both cakes we rich, moist and spongy with the right amount of flavor. The peanut butter was a chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting and decorated with a small PB cup. The red velvet was the perfect welcome to spring which was a RV cake topped with cream cheese frosting and decorated with a small lady bug. Strawberry granola bar This was my husband's favorite. It was a buttery crust topped with strawberry filling and a granola crumble. Far better than any boxed bar you would find around. They have a selection of other dessert items such as ice cream and cheese cake (in a variety of flavors) as well as other pastries like eclairs and or cookies. They also have items on the savory side like spinach feta crescents or breakfast sandwiches as well as a selection of juices and coffee. The price won't break the bank by any means and the humble atmosphere will have you coming back for more. This was a wonderful shop and I am jealous to not have it closer to home but will definitely plan to stop on my next roadtrip! read more

Oh where oh where can one get a coffee fix in a tiny town like Milford, DE?!? At Dolce, that's where! This place was phenomenal (and that's coming from a Chicagoan who has tried every high-end spot in the Chi from Wormhole to Ipsento). I got my usual tester brew - a soy vanilla latte (easy on the vanilla) - to see whether this place was worth its weight in coffee beans. The latte was smooth, flavorful without being too sweet, and had the perfect punch of caffeine to really wake me up! I threw in a "Gooey Chocolate Cookie" for good measure (a first place winner in a local pastry competition), and it was gooey and tasty indeed! I saw a decadent-looking "Stick-In-The-Mud" brownie concoction but decided to forego the diabetes that would inevitably follow from such a sugar onslaught :0 Until next time, purveyor of delicious coffee and sweets - Dolce. read more

I see most of the previous reviews are from "non-coffee drinkers" commenting on the bakery items. Well, here it is folks, a review on the drinks! I got a latte with soy milk. OMG! Can I say, this may have been the best latte I ever had? Just a plain latte, no flavors...but somehow it was really really good. I typically order plain lattes, occasionally flavors, for the purpose of waking me up in the afternoon. I am a caffeine addict, drinking at least 2 cups in the morning, but often drinking 3 in the morning and one in the afternoon (either a latte or coffee). I generally dislike Dunkin Doughnuts lattes because they are not strong enough for me. I like Starbucks, but can tell the difference between SB and more "gourmet" mom-and-pop shops. I will say Dolce's latte was more flavorful, and stronger, than Starbucks' lattes. Who would have thought a place like this would be in Milford? Oh, and my dad also got a regular coffee and said it was definitely above average. He is pretty picky about coffee, will only drink it if it's gourmet. A must stop if you are in Milford! read more

Pretty damn good breakfast sammiches. The cafe itself is super cute, my co-worker and I were admiring the copper paint on the wall and the ceiling tiles. Everything was very clean, the cases were fully stocked with the most appetizing baked goods, perfect chocolate chip cookies and tie dyed macarons ! I hate to only give 4 stars because I think the food and decor deserves 5, I just wish the employee didn't come across as being bothered that we were there. Maybe she was having a rough day?
