Was great for my friends first ever camping trip! Beautiful area and great vibes all around. Camp host was perfect and so nice. He was talkative and polite. You could very often see him walking around with his dog cleaning up trash asking how everyone's day was by name! On our final night he ran out of wood but gave us some for free. More or less the campground was amazing but the real treat is Rich. read more

Our group LOVED the Eureka Valley Campground (we still love the space itself, the sites are great, the location is amazing) and the host couple last year in 2024 so much that we decided to come back this year with a larger group of friends to experience it. However, our trip was AWFUL due to the camp host who is condescending, accusatory, flat out rude and truly should not be in the hospitality industry. If I were National Forest Leadership and the Dodge Ridge Concessionaire (and I do work in the concessionaire management industry) I would be EMBARRASSED to have her as a representation of my company. Not only were we approached aggressively each day and each night, accused "but not really, I am asking everyone" of breaking a bathroom dispenser, and overall being spoken to horribly, the host did not even let us speak when asking about our Access Pass. We unfortunately paid full price before noticing the signage state that Access Pass holders were eligible for reduced costs. My boyfriend holds a disabled veterans Access Pass, and approached the host to ask about it and apologized that we hadn't seen it earlier before paying. Immediately without allowing him to even explain his pass, she cuts him off and says that it is only for seniors and is a specific pass only. Well, he has the said pass she talked about when she finally let him talk - reluctantly as seen on her face. She then leaves, and comes back and does not refund or honor us in anyway so truthfully, we overpaid and never received our money back that we were owed. It's a shame that many other campers we encountered, even the weekend before when we visited the campground to look at sites we wanted, said she was horrible and others said they were leaving early because of her. We wanted to stick it out since we had made all of our plans, but honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if this campground is bare because of her. Plus, she won't actually honor the discounts available that people deserve with their Access Passes so make sure you don't pay full price on accident because you won't see your money again. In our minds she stole from us on this which is a shame and downright unacceptable. read more

The campground itself was fine, but the camp host really made the experience unpleasant. She acted more like a sheriff than a host -- very rude, condescending, and unwelcoming. Instead of being helpful, she seemed more interested in policing campers. A host should make people feel comfortable and supported, not uncomfortable. Definitely won't be coming back because of this experience. read more

We've been coming to this campground as locals for years. This last weekend we did our yearly family vacation here at Eureka Valley and there is a new camp host who's for lack of a better phrase - feels like her mission is to run people off of her campsite and disturb the peace of families trying to enjoy the calmness of this campsite. Besides this camp host, this campsite is a FIVE STAR campsite. The previous hosts were amazing, friendly, helpful, ran a clean campground. This NEW host for the 2025 season (I believe she is managing Dardanelle and boulder flat as well), is confrontative right off the bat from the time you go to pay. She is overly aggressive, unwelcoming (feels like you're checking in with a prison guard). It is absolutely unacceptable to harass campers the way she does, we watched her go off on a group of older hunter's for not having a name on their tag, for "checking in early at 12PM" on a dead empty campsite, telling our neighbor campers that she doesn't like unleashed dogs even for a minute because she has a cat (which by the way is NOT leashed up or secured - just hangs freely). To top it all off, we had family members pull up to visit for a day - three vehicles parked well within our campsite. We were gone most of the day at Twin Lakes (so only two vehicles parked at the campsite all day). The second we get back at 6PM on Saturday night 8/16, while we were actually literally transferring over stuff from one vehicle to the next so that the third visiting family car could leave (not staying the night) - she immediately drives her truck over to us, walks up into our campsite all fired up and starts a verbal confrontation with our family that's trying to leave. She said she does not care if they're visiting or not and that it is illegal to have three cars parked at a campsite INCLUDING a trailer. We told her they're LEAVING and that it's not illegal, and she threatened to call the sheriff and have them kick us out and walked off shaking and full of adrenaline before taking pictures of our campsite and license plates. It is absolutely disgusting how she behaves and treats people who have been coming to this campsite for years. We immediately packed up and left within a couple hours to avoid her coming back with the sheriff. Of course she came back WITHOUT the sheriff (about 1.5 hours later). Didn't say a word, drove back to her campsite around 8PM as we were getting ready to head out back home. We were supposed to be up here for another week. I would NOT recommend camping here while she's around. We'll have to start camping at Clark Fork or Kennedy Meadows, AVOID any campsite managed by her. We'll be contacting Dodge Ridge management and filing a compliant and refund for the time we didn't use. She wears a fake little cowgirl hat, but she should be wearing a prison guard hat. I'm sure dodge ridge will notice the decreased revenue because all the campsites managed by her this year are mostly empty compared to last year. Genuinely unacceptable behavior from this woman. She doesn't belong up here managing these campsites - she have zero camp host skills other than being able to process paperwork. read more

Just returned from spending a week at this beautiful campground. Cindy the Camp Host keeps this place clean as a whistle. Everything about this place is awesome....What a wonderful place to stay and the setting is truly amazing. read more

Like most campgrounds, Eureka Valley Campground is difficult to pinpoint on an online map. It's about 26 miles east of Pinecrest on Sonora Pass Highway (CA-108). If you're driving through the Sonora Pass, especially if you're headed east, this campground is a nice place to take a break from the beautiful but zigzagging route. The bathrooms are relatively clean, and this is quite an accomplishment considering they're of the hole-in-the-ground-with-a-toilet-seat-on-top variety. There's lots of room to spread out, and they don't take reservations, so you don't have to worry about them being booked months in advance. It's also an obscure location, so I don't think availability would ever be a problem. read more

Clean vault toilets, hand pump water available, next to beautiful river, big camp sites, big granite rocks, fire rings, picnic tables. No reservations. Beautiful setting and can't wait to revisit. read more
