You can also take it back to your room, wherever that is, if needed. I spent some time in the ICU and the waiting room there was nice and spacious on the sixth floor. I also enjoy going to Wright's Gourmet which is a little further down the hall depending on where you are coming from. The sandwiches can be big enough to split. I grabbed a bag of BBQ chips and a bottled Dr. Pepper with a glass of ice. As a heads-up, they do NOT take cash just credit/debit cards. (During standard breakfast, lunch & dinner times, staff will serve you.) The apple, blueberry, & raspberry scones are very good. There's also a frozen yogurt machine w/ two flavors, as well as accompanying toppings, & a machine for iced coffee. My spaghetti w/ a large banana & large diet soda rang up at $3.71. Yes, $3.71-- a quick hot meal for under $4! Two larger dinners totalled $8.00 each. There are 2 registers for checkout, although at times only 1 cashier is on duty. Any line moves quickly, though; hospital employees simply place their ID in front of a scanner & their transaction is complete. The lighting, dining area & connecting lounge are aesthetically pleasing-- the bold colors blend to create a very comfortable & relaxing place to eat (or just sit). The wide open concept lacks the accompanying anxiety of a traditional cafeteria. This is the first hospital cafeteria I've actually enjoyed patronizing. Bullying is severe, the dress code is even worse, and teachers are either too harsh or too lenient. There are various predominant issues with the faculty, especially with the counselors. They tell the student body that they can come and visit them with their concerns, but then they refuse to take a child seriously. Whether it be harassment from other students or personal issues, they belittle your concerns into the ground. The school lunches and breakfasts are unhealthy and frankly disgusting, not to mention the barely clean bathrooms. They do not teach these children a drop of respect or obedience and instead target the less popular students because the teachers choose favorites. One of the gym teachers is a felon and has been to jail, and he also makes most of the students uncomfortable. The gym classes are unreasonable, though bearable, none of the games are slightly fun. Overall, it was a boring school and pretty rancid. The classes were informative, but that's all the good I can really push myself to say about Challenger.
