I walked in excited to get a cold brew. The woman behind the counter had something wrong with her today. I asked for a cold brew half sweetened. She responded with attitude and a mean look "how am I supposed to know what that means, half sweet"? This was so rude, I did the adult thing and walked out. FANTASTIC. As someone who loves a healthy breakfast but is married to someone who wants something a bit more decadent... This was the PERFECT compromise! A cute little shop on AMI, we walked in and were immediately and Warmly greeted by the two servers behind the counter. They promptly took and prepared our order. We went soon after opening so we were able to snag one of the few tables indoors. (If you're coming with a group or later in the day, you're better off getting it to go.) My husband had the Arepa King, which was absolutely delicious. A slightly healthier arepa dough but still savory and blended perfectly with the egg, avocado, and feta flavors. The texture and amounts of each were perfectly proportioned. I snuck a few bites! He also got a beef empanada (baked, not fried, which we prefer) and a smoothie. It made me wish I got a smoothie! It was nice and thick (but not too thick), and sweet (but not too sweet). Exactly the way you want a smoothie. I got the detox juice (which I didn't realized was made per order, so refreshingly and had a nice frothy head) and the yogurt parfait. Once again, the proportions were perfect! A nice amount of yogurt, crunchy granola (again, sweet but not too sweet), and fresh blueberries, strawberries, and banana. It was exactly what I wanted before a hot day at the beach. We also got hot coffees, one black and one with their maple donut sugar free syrup. They had so many fun syrup flavors!! Service is 5stars but the food was not quite as good. The lady at the counter asked for my preference of coffee to milk ratio. Customized my juice order based on allergies and was super concerned with my satisfaction. We had the Arepa Queen which was like an Avacado chicken salad on a healthy bun like thing. Points for it being healthy but the flavor was a bit lacking with some hot sauce it was good. Then had an açaí bowl with added Nutella and peanut butter. This was good. The green juices were good and strained. Overall it's a cute spot but I'm not sure I'd be back. read more

We had breakfast sandwiches, an açaí bowl and smoothie from here. The açaí bowl was fantastic! Best I ever had. I tried the King and was a bit disappointed, as there wasn't much flavor. But once I added salt and some hot sauce it was really good. My daughter didn't like her breakfast sandwich but my son did. The smoothie was fresh and delicious. It's a really small place with just a few tables. We went during the week. There was only one other table with patrons. Yet I had to wipe down a table so we could sit. read more

Went to Blueberries to get a smoothie before heading to Manatee Public Beach. It was not busy in there and the workers are nice. The smoothie was delicious and thick. I knocked one star because the bathroom was a little dirty when we had to use it. There is parking right outside and it is free. read more

Charged $50 for a pretty basic to go breakfast. Plastic forks, paper plates, cheap toast, packaged syrup, and they forgot to make our $14 smoothie until we reminded them. Overall disappointing waste of time and money. read more

After reading several glowing reviews here, we may have come on an 'off' day. There was one worker who was working hard and he seemed to be a very engaged employee. There was a young lady "working" who just wanted to look at her phone and paying customers could not distract her from this endeavor. She even proceeded to watch videos on her phone with the sound on, which competed with the overhead music. There were two other workers on deck, one of them was engaged, the other not so much. It kind of felt like we were ruining their day by even being there and they just wanted to chill. The bagel sandwich was edible but the cheese was not melted. The hot latte was too milky and much too sweet. I did not know they would be the ones to sweeten it and as a diabetic, this was an important detail. I was not able to finish this drink because of the over-sweetening. I understand that touristy establishments may think they do not need to provide good customer service because they likely will not see you again, but we visit AMI frequently and will definitely not return to Blueberries. Wanting to end this on a positive note, this cafe is adorably decorated in a pink, coastal theme and this adds to the beach vibe of AMI. Alas, that is where the positivity ends. read more

This was probably the healthiest place we ate at on the entire island. It's a small cafe but had the most healthy gluten free choices. I got a chicken avocado salad sandwich on gluten free bread and it was delicious. My husband had the oatmeal- dessert for breakfast is how he described it. They had other gluten free options as well like Acai bowls, GF pizza and other sandwiches could be made gluten free. We discovered this on our last day... wish I would have found it sooner! We've been coming here for over a year now. The food is always consistently fresh and appetizing. Some of our favorites are the king and queen arepa, and the avo toast. Contrary to another reviewer, I do not think the servings are small. You can see my queen arepa pictured next to a fork. Also keep in mind these are freshly prepared delicious breads and juices on an island. The price point is in line with the quality of what is made for you. Our absolute favorites are the empanadas- spinach sells out first so get there early, chicken is wonderful also. The green detox juice will make you feel like Tom Brady. Cappuccinos are wonderful and the green tea is so refreshing. This is a made to order counter with a friendly family staff. We love to come sit out front on the patio and enjoy our coffee under the bougainvillea while we await our meal. Do not pass this place up for breakfast on the island! read more

Ok, this is a hard review...their bowls are very very good. They offer gluten free granola and I sent my husband to get his pregnant wife a bowl and the first time they were out of the gf granola so being preggo and craving a bowl I went with regular granola and it was delicious. On our last day I wanted another bowl and they weren't clear the gf granola had nuts in it bc their regular granola has no nuts and nuts. I can't say I would've caught it but I'm allergic so sadly we had to take it back and ask for another bowl. The lady ran right into my husband at the door saying it wasn't their fault and we needed to pay. Which, here's the hard part...I understand the waste that's included but I've never ever had a place force someone to pay for an honest mistake. Incredibly poor practice and now sadly when we return to Anna Maria we'll be going to North Shore for açaí bowls. Please be kinder to your customers, no matter what bc it's just not a good look, ever. Also, it would be nice if you made gf granola nut free and with nuts. I also noticed since I ended up with both they are very stingy with their gf granola vs the regular. So take note if you are ok with nuts and get gf that you will get half less granola. read more

We got there at 10 and they were sold out of a lot of breakfast bowls, so my kids ordered the last 2 peanut butter bowls, which were their only remaining bowls. I didn't want an empanada, bagel or muffin, so I asked them to add a scrambled egg to the veggie wrap. They added an egg cooked over easy and it didn't taste great with the spread on the veggie wrap - but this is on me because I asked them to add the egg. They offer smoothies and coffee.
