This looks so bad it is as if a 5-y/o did it to me. It is streaky and doesn't look like the top coat was evenly distributed at all. Essie gel should not chip 12 hours after it is applied, but it did. My pedicure has spots on it that look like white paint. ???? She was rushed and had people waiting, or I would have demanded a do over (or just that she take everything off so I could go somewhere else), but it took 2 hours to begin with, so who has that kind of time??? Be forewarned - do not go here if you want your nails to look good.

I informed Jim that I was on a tight timeline. He acknowledged hearing me, and then continued his phone calls searching for loam for his lawn or something. It was clear that his mind was not on his business or his customers. After I had been waiting for 45 minutes, Jim left the front desk and came back a few minutes later stating Nicole had had a problem with the table. When she finally came to get me she was not apologetic and blamed the delay on the table. A 45 min delay b/c of the table?! Are you serious!? I wondered how long it would have taken her to start my service if Jim had not checked in with her b/c she did not call him for help. I understand that sometimes things happen that are beyond our control but her approach really communicated disregard for customer care and satisfaction. She was very disengaged and it was clear she wanted no part in the conversation I started as she wandered off and I had to ask where she went. I asked both of them what we were going to do as I had booked services and was now running very, very behind. I then learned my pedicure appt had been moved to 2 PM without my knowledge or confirmation. If staff need to modify appointment times, patrons really should be consulted. Jim made a halfhearted attempt offering me a service I did not want at a time that was 45 min away when I had already been waiting there for 45 minutes. I am sorry, but this was completely unacceptable. I left without receiving any of the services I scheduled weeks in advance. Most of the staff I have worked with there over the years have been great. Nicole was definitely the exception. But don't expect much in terms of hospitality or customer service.

This is a mistake that I have never made before; I missed my appointment. The second I realized, I called and apologized profusely and explained what happened. It was completely unintentional and I felt terribly. it was the end of an absolutely crazy week and my brain was scrambled. The woman I spoke to was nice about it and rescheduled me. What she failed to tell me is that they were going to charge my card for $165. The next week when I saw the charge on my account, I called them and left a message. Three days later, I called again and left another message. Three days later, again. I wanted to make sure that charge was for my upcoming appointment, since no one had expressed to me that I was going to be charged a cancellation fee. Mind you, I would understand 50 or even $75 but to charge the full amount of the appointment is extreme to me I felt really bad that I messed up, but it's unacceptable to just charge your card when you could easily enough notify the person that you were going to do so. They didn't get back to me for two weeks. When she did finally get back to me, she said that this was the cancellation policy and insisted that I had that information before hand. I explained that I was not going to be able to afford another appointment due to this charge. She said this was coming from the owner and that was that. Look, I know I wasted the time of the stylist, and I feel really bad for that. But this is the first time in my life this happened and it was not intentional. Their lack of communication and lack of compassion is why I won't be ever patronizing this business. They could've had long-term business from me had they done a good job, but instead, they chose to take my cancellation fee and run. Not so smart if you ask me.

I had been seeing Senior Stylists at some of the top salons in NYC so I wasn't sure how I this was going to go. Channel is the stylist who helped me and she did an AMAZING job. The color matched perfectly, she cut my hair exactly how I wanted it done, and she gave me a very cute blow out which I am happy to say lasted through the night and I am still rocking today! I felt like Channel really listened to me about what I wanted. I cant wait to go back to her in July for a gloss on my ends and a touch up. The salon itself is decorated nicely and is very clean. All the stylists and receptionists were very friendly as well. I wasn't pressured into any additional services and I felt very "at home" at Serenity. I am excited to try the spa out next! My nails are pretty square so I just asked for a light filing. It turned out square just how I like it. The cuticle cutting was good. No cuts or pokes. She was very careful. The color I picked first was a sheer pink (059??). It was way too clear. So the nail tech let me change the color. As she painted the first coat, I was skeptical because it wasn't super clean strokes but that's to be expected. The second coat was much cleaner. I had some issues with the lumpiness on my thumb but she fixed it right away. Overall, the service was great, the tech was really nice. Paid $26.59 ($25 + service fee). I didn't check the menu. I think my service was $22 looking at a menu on here but not sure if the prices changed!

I also sat in this shop long enough to notice it needs a serious deep clean - dust and nail residue abound and it would be much nicer after a total once-over.
