Odorless Bathtub Refinishing - Odorless Bathtub Refinishing in San Diego

    Odorless Bathtub Refinishing

Since it's in a vacation rental property, I won't be using it myself, but it will see plenty of use from guests, so I'm hopeful it will be easy enough to clean and hold up as promised. I'll be putting it to the test. Serge went above and beyond answering all of my questions and scheduled the job for the day after my initial call, which I really appreciated. He left the area spotless, with no lingering odors, and the finished shower looks beautiful. Since there are no VOC's we could stay in the house while the resurfacing was being completed. I just had to wait 'till the next day to put the shower drain cover back. Overall, it was a great experience.

I hired OBR to recoat the insides of 2 tubs. Short version is I am extatically happy with the…read moreservice, results, and the discounted cash price was excellent. Long version is that both tubs were ruined by living in this house 21 years which made them dingy, my mother in law's assisted chair set up which scratched up the bottoms, and our teenagers dying their hair which set black and blue color permanently into the scratches. One tub was acrylic and the other was metal, (determined by me testing a magnet). They both looked really bad and dingy and I was pretty concerned that the metal one was bound to start rusting out with continued use. The tubs looked like they hadn't been cleaned in years even after a deep cleaning. There was no shine. I was embarrassed to have guests use the restrooms, as there's absolutely nothing you can do to hide a bathtub. So I read a lot of reviews and got a few quotes. OBR had a good price to begin with plus they offered a 10% cash discount. I also liked the idea that they were so confident about the finish not yellowing. I have a few re coated tubs in a rental property that have held up over the past 25 years but they have yellowed over time and are ugly. I'm going to invest in having OBR redo those tubs in the near future. I only needed to do the insides. The outsides still looked shiney and new. Serge recommend that I let him remove the drain kit so the white coating did not get on that metal and that gave me the opportunity to run over and buy new drain kits (for about $25 ea) and that was the finishing touch. Both tubs now look BRAND NEW and have a very glossy, almost wet, looking finish. I am thrilled with the end result and feel I most definitely made the best choice in hiring these guys. I wasnt too concerned about the potential smell but if you are, the process is indeed odorless. Serge told me it might take around 6 hours but it actually took about 4.5 hours for him to do both tubs. I had left him home while I was out and had to come back sooner than expected since he finished early, and he was very gracious waiting for me to return. The coating only takes 1 day to cure. A+ experience all the way around.

The poor old thing (the secretary) was really showing her age with years of touching up, damage and oxidation. She was long overdue for a rehaul. I found AAA on Yelp and texted Keith. His response was quick and honest and he was willing to take the job on at a very reasonable cost, and referred me to Stan. Stan was also quick to respond and we arranged a time for pick up and an ETA. Stan contacted us anytime he had a question about something and sent pics of her in progress. After about 2 to 3 weeks, he was ready to bring her back and we were extremely flabbergasted at how gorgeous she had turned out. When you have a piece of furniture so long and it looks so worn, it's hard to imagine what it could look like beautified. I am attaching before and after pics to show what wonderful work they did, which included completely stripping her, which Stan said was VERY labor-intensive. She was covered in old varnish and old polish. I digress. Here are the pics, and a very high recommendation for AAA.

Although I can't comment on the cost since it was covered by insurance, the workmanship was top quality. Keith refinished our 12 foot wood veneer dining room table, two credenzas, a two piece China cabinet, and reupholstered ten dining room chairs. In addition to the excellent work we were appreciative with the speed in which it was completed. He always promptly responded to any of our inquiries. We also appreciated his willingness to hold our furniture while other work was being completed.

However it turned out even uglier in my opinion. He said if you looked at it from straight on it would not be noticeable, which is true, but from other angles it is a glaring eyesore. He did not tell me it would be beautiful only from one angle and I am very disappointed. So frankly I would not hire him for a repair. This is a reply to your offer. Thank you for your offer to redo the work, but when I expressed concerns after your initial repair, that would have been the time to discuss alternative approaches. At the time you left me with that was just the way it was because of the way light is refracted. I tried to ignore it but it leaps out at you every time you walk by. It is much worse than it was before and 4 times larger. I hired another company to come out and see what they could do. Although their repair still isn't perfect, it is significantly less noticeable. At this point, I don't feel confident that another attempt would achieve the results I would like.

I highly recommend Dasani's Company Tub Refinishing!…read more My master bathroom tub had developed a crack, and because it has custom quartz edging, replacing it simply wasn't a practical option - it would have been far too expensive. From my first phone call, Sofia in the office was incredibly helpful. She took the time to explain what bathtub refinishing can and cannot accomplish and gave me honest, practical advice that actually reduced the cost of the repair. I really appreciated that she wasn't trying to upsell me. David Garcia performed the repair, and his 26 years of experience really showed. He was friendly, honest, professional, and clearly takes pride in his work. He explained the process, did an excellent job, and left the tub looking great. It's refreshing to find a company that values honesty, expertise, and customer service. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Dasani's Company Tub Refinishing to anyone considering bathtub repair or refinishing.

Edited to remove a couple stars: Though I have carefully…read morefollowed all cleaning instructions and not used any harsh products or sponges, I noticed a small nick in the paint only a month after we got this done. We have not dropped anything on this spot to create a chip. David came back to look at it and said accidental damage was not covered in his guarantee/warranty, even though I explained my care and lack of dropping things on the surface. He said he would get a quote for the chip as well as another chip he found. Because I pressed, saying I didn't cause the damage and it should be covered, he said they would touch up the paint while they were already here and didn't charge me. I asked Sofia if I could get the name, color, and finish info of the touch up paint so I could have some on hand in case this happens again, but she said it was a licensed product unavailable to laypeople and recommended I cover it with white nail polish. So now I just have to hope and pray that nothing else happens to the tubs because I don't feel confidence that they'll cover it. They said accidental damage doesn't mean it was caused by me, but apparently it's still not covered in the warranty?? I am leaving some stars on my review because the initial work looked good, and David did work very hard. But if I was looking for a company to do a great job AND for the work to last, then I'm afraid I cannot recommend this company. Initial Review: David was so kind and thorough. He had to use a LOT of elbow grease to scrape off our old paint that a previous owner applied terribly. David updated me throughout and was up front about additional cost to add nonslip surface. The new tubs are so sparkly and shining! I got a quick response on Yelp communication, though I did not receive any reminder or instructions for how to prepare my bathroom prior to his visit.
