It is a flagstone patio in which he poured a concrete slab, let it set, then came back and set large pieces of flagstone on top in mortar while considering and making the drainage perfect. Not an easy task and needed an absolute professional and forward and smart thinker about the end project. Art Tarantino saw it all immediately and delivered in spades. I did get several other bids, he was the high end of the other bids, and had a longer wait time, but we are so glad we waited and went with him. I was given an excellent variety of bricks/blocks to choose for the wall, and the one I chose was competently installed. I was pleased to note the block I chose would be sourced from RCP in Chula Vista, where I have been a regular customer. The two workers agreed to relocate the existing pavers for my reuse as part of the original job. I really appreciated that. Although I was in no hurry, the job was completed quite expeditiously with the exception of the iron gate, the installation of which was subcontracted (and reviewed separately). Luis communicated well via phone and text, and came out to my house to measure the tree box and provide a quote. He also measured the existing bricks on another tree box in my yard so that he could find bricks to match. On both days of the project, Luis and his coworker showed up on time and did excellent, careful work. I love how they cut the brick into little triangles to make the corners look good. The tree box looks amazing and is a big upgrade from what I had before. The price was exactly as quoted, and Luis gave me a receipt showing the material costs.
