Started off great - had my car towed to Greenville Transmission Clinic on a Monday and was told…read morethat the diagnostician was only in on Monday and Wednesday (why the person who can actually "diagnose" an issue is in 2 days a week is beyond me) but I was told that my car was going to be assessed that Wednesday. I didn't hear anything so I called at the end of the day on Wednesday (no one called me) and I was told that there was a back up and my car hadn't gotten on the lift. I then called on Thursday to get an update and was told that someone would get back to me. Someone finally called and said that I would have to pay an additional $100 for "more testing", and that they didn't "think" it was the transmission and was probably the catalytic converter. I agreed and then called back on Friday and was told that it hadn't happened yet and that someone would get back to me. The following Monday, I reached out to see what was happening and was told that the shop had just opened (it had been opened for almost an hour - and it's Monday, the day the 2 work-day-a-week diagnostician was supposed to be there, but whatever) and that someone would get back to me by the end of the day to give me an update. Once again, no update by the end of the day and no call on Tuesday morning. So I ended up going down, found out that the "additional" testing hadn't happened (they obviously didn't charge me for that). I ended up having the car towed somewhere else. The gentleman at the front desk explained that there was a back-up, etc., but the fact that there was almost zero communication is pretty unacceptable when you've had someone's car for a week. Communication is key and I honestly would have been happy with a text notification - the customer shouldn't be the one reaching out constantly for information. BTW, the new shop called me about 20 min after I dropped the car off and will have it ready at 2pm.

One car was using this thing and another was waiting behind them. I decided to take a restroom break before attempting to enter the traffic Twilight Zone, aka Woodruff Road. The restroom was typicality clean as QT does a great job in the housekeeping arena. I saw nothing out of place and the shelves were stocked abundantly.

Mind you my interior is beige cloth. Its obvious my car was used for shop or personal use. My cluster was never program to its proper mileage so now my car shows 50,000 less miles than it really is. Had to ask for documentation twice from Bailey. Was given a $50 gift car for gas reimbursement. I had several billing discrepancies. Bailey tried to charge me for programming until i called him on it. Just a all around horrible experience at Mason and Sons at 215 college st. downtown Greenville sc. Not so sure of anyone elses experience but mine was horrible and I will never recommend this shop to anyone. Bailey tried to seriously cheat me out of a quality job and money. Therefore, the alternator must be bad too. She was even given the alternator output readings of 11V, as opposed to the 14V required. They said it would cost $950 to repair. This is after it has been towed there. If you know anything about cars, you see the faulty logic in this diagnosis. I had the car towed to my daughters home. I easily jumped the car off, took alternator readings of 14.4V. I swapped out the battery for $179 and all is good. It's a shame you can't trust people. Businesses like this give all of them a bad name. Taking advantage of young women. Maybe it was just a bad day. Maybe they actually thought they were right. Either way, a bad experience and I would never go there myself.

I brought it in to Kar Gard who took the time to check it out and found more holes. I decided to replace a large section of exhaust. They custom bent tubing for me including a Y pipe and welded it up for me. All that cost less than what the other shop wanted to put in a test pipe. The owner is helpful and friendly. When I came in he was helping a woman pick out a lift for her truck and seemed to know his stuff. Very happy with this place. I wouldn't consider going anywhere else for exhaust work.

They left and told me they would send a flat bed pretty hard to tow when you have the front tire off-I said not thanks. I then called Tanner up at Buchanan & Sons and he came up to Paris Mountain and we had to switch the spare to the front since GMC gave me a 17" spare that does not clear my brake large GMC calipers and Tanner then out the rear 20" rim and tire on the front and I put the 17" spare on the rear, Tanner took my flat Front tire and had it plugged by the time I got back to their shop! Truly awesome service and family we Giffels (My son and wife and I) have gone there for service and other items for over 40 Years! Highly recommend they are super people and do great work!
