They clean one corridor after another and when all 4 wings are done, they start all over. The staff is wonderful- warm, friendly, caring, skilled, kind and dedicated. Even staff who was not assigned to my brother that day would stop in to say hello or share a joke or talk about sports. Some even stopped by on their days off to check in on my brother. I would say that for many of them, this is not just a job, but a calling. The care they gave was gentle, compassionate, patient, tender, respectful. They work hard to preserve their patients' dignity. My brother knew he was loved, not only by our family, but also by his Wynscape family. I was impressed by the friendliness and helpfulness of everyone on the staff. They regularly stopped what they were doing to provide help and assistance. The rehab staff is also excellent - encouraging, professional, attentive. The food is very good and the staff went out of their way to make sure my brother ate. The staff not only attended to the needs of my brother but were also very attentive and responsive to our family. From entering the facility to the time one leaves, the warmth and caring provided are evident. If I ever need skilled or long term care, this is the place I would choose. I am so very grateful for the care they rendered to my brother in his last year.

I just wanted to take the time to recognize the staff at Thrive of Lisle, as they took great care of me. Shoutouts to CNA's Alan & Harrison; nurses Shirley, Mark and Gina. They are the best! Kellie from activities, Jerome and Sue are always roving the halls and engaging with residents. The positivity and enthusiasm of the staff is truly contagious, and made this long recovery journey easier for me. Therapists Susan, Ed, Keyenna and Tiffany have been helping me work towards my goal to be able to walk again and use my left arm. I love Thrive of Lisle, and the staff here. 2023 was easily the darkest time of my life. I nearly lost my life, and was not sure if I'd ever walk again, or be able to return to the career that I love. The staff at Thrive treated me like family. I can't tell you how much happiness and hope that CNA Alan, Nurse Shirley & Kellie brought into my life during this time. They are truly special people. I still come back to thrive and visit at least 4 times a year. It's rewarding for me to visit the current patients during activities time, as well as spreading positivity and encouragement. I also love seeing my extended family (the Thrive staff). My advice & words of wisdom for incoming patients and their families: * Advocate for yourself as the patient; if you're a relative; please advocate for your loved one. * Treat the staff with love & respect (I promise it'll come back to you ten-fold, and will be a much better experience for you & the staff this way.) * You might be shy at first, but take full advantage of the activities that Kellie puts together! From craft-making to group games; it's a fun time for everyone! (Even the patient's visitors are encouraged to participate). * It doesn't matter if you're bedridden, the staff will make sure to get you out to socialize, shower, or PT. You just need to communicate your needs to them early enough in the day. * Family: PLEASE don't underestimate the power of your visits. Frequent visits will greatly help your loved one as they strive to recover. I had at least 2 family members taking turns visiting me throughout each day. *Keep in mind, you ARE allowed to sit in on your loved one's physical therapy sessions. - Just ask the therapist as a courtesy* * Stay positive & Keep on thriving! I was sent to Thrive for wound care. So I did not require the assistance some people did. I was…read moreable to walk and dress myself. I did receive physical and occupational therapy. The therapy was to target both upper and lower body and I felt it was a great benefit for me. Therapist took time to answer my questions on how or why the different excersises were a benefit. I had Murium and Traci. Nurses and CNAs were all pleasant. When I was not in my room they would look for me for required medications or lab tests. They also seem to work as a team. No task is beneath anyone. The activities director Kelli has such a nice personality that even someone like me that typically does not join in was participating. Because I did not have anyone visiting me they made a point of making me not feel alone. Many of the staff were good but I had a special thanks to Noah Teddi Alfonso Sue Kelli Drew Odette and my wound care team. I was able to heal nicely by the time I was discharged thanks to their attention and care. Only issue is with the evening shift. I think they forget at times that it is bedtime for us even if it's just a work-shift for them. They would be quite loud and slam doors. Rooms are 2 people so if someone needs to be tended to in middle of the night or is hard of hearing that's a problem too.

The grounds are beautifully kept, and the walking trails are lovely. The staff here is very caring and first rate. They really took time to keep us updated on progress and did so much to help our family. Even the chaplain took time to visit my dad regularly. We were able to attend one of the Sunday non-denominational church services, and the music and message were punctuated by the breath-taking chapel and stained glass window. My father's only complaint was the food, but he was on a very restricted diet. It certainly smelled great in the halls during meal times. I highly recommend this place.

Pros Our caregiver was a great emotional match for my mom…read more Our caregiver was trustworthy Cons Because I live in close proximity to my mother, I was able to see the concerns noted here, first hand. The caregiver provided to us told us she did not cook- I cooked dinners for almost one year and packaged them weekly for both my mother and the caregiver. Our caregiver did cook scrambled eggs. She did utilize a microwave to reheat the dinners I cooked and packed for her for the almost year she was with us. The caregiver provided to us vacuumed twice in the year she was with us-once because we requested it bc of an upcoming carpet cleaning and once in response to our having contacted and brought Tanya in for a conversation. Our caregiver did not do light cleaning. *Photo#1 is an infection caused by not wiping skin completely. We had no idea she had such an infection until hospice showed us on the first day of their services. (We brought hospice in-not from European care. Outside hospice provided a healthcare worker 2x per week, a nurse, a doctor to direct end of life care, equipment including a hospital bed and oxygen, access to team members, pastoral support and very necessary supplies such as briefs, creams, wipes and meds. *Photo #2 is called shearing. We also didn't know this was happening until my mom's first day of hospice services (that we brought in) and they brought it to our attention. Shearing is caused from yanking a brief out from under the patient. The issues of cooking and cleaning were brought to Tanya's attention in October. My mom was in hospice and no longer eating much so cooking became irrelevant. Our caregiver never did do light house keeping. With the help of hospice, and my taking over personal care for two weeks (except middle of the night refreshes) , her infections cleared up. There is discrepancy about what my brothers would rate vs what my sister and I would rate, as the girls picked up all the slack for cooking, cleaning and infection clearing. Tanya did tell us we should have contacted her sooner, with cooking and cleaning issues, we did not want to make waves because one brother uses the services for his father in law and our caregiver was a great emotional match for my mom. When I did contact Tanya and I met with both her and our caregiver, Tanya did not follow up. When contacted a second time for a new situation, Tanya's immediate response was to try to reach my brother by contacting my sister in law via email-who is not a POA-to voice her own concerns.

I looked at another reviewers comments who said LifeCare charges "super high fees." Yes, getting an…read moreoutside firm is expensive. So, when a lawyer recommended them to help us take care of a friend as we live out of town, we looked at the fees. Our friend could afford them, so my husband signed the contract as her POA. Then the reviewer said they will sue you if you "don't have money to pay them back." Why did she sign up with them? It's not like the fees are hidden. Did she not make an agreement to pay them back? I found this confusing with misplaced blame. That being said, LifeCare has been a godsend for us. Our friend is visited every week and the care manager is fantastic in checking up with caregivers and the assisted living personnel. He attends to whatever we need of him to help us out. Their nurse came and did an outstanding overall health review with suggestions to make our friend's daily living a better experience (about a 15 page summary). As a result, we are moving our friend to what we believe is a better facility for her needs, AND it is almost $1600 cheaper per month. Now we can re-direct the savings towards more one-on-one part-time care. We, too, experienced sticker shock all around with the state of elderly care in this country, and I'm sure many people could not afford this level of oversight for a loved one. However, our friend can, and we are grateful for the exemplary service LifeCare provides. My recommendation to anyone who has a family member in a facility is to at least contract for the bare minimum so there is an experienced, expert set of eyes to alert you to any issues.

Capital Hospice provided in-home care for our Mom this past July. Mom at 95 was diagnosed with…read morestage 4 cancer. Once she made the decision to be at home with family we called Capital Hospice. Capital immediately provided equipment, hospice nursing, medication and a twenty-four call line. We are so grateful for the attention of care that Mom and the family was provided- even a visiting Chaplain on the morning of Mom's passing. Candace and Benjamin of Capital were the angels that enabled us to safely meet Mom's needs.
