My parents moved in 2 years ago. I am so very thankful they did. My family lives in Carol Stream and we are now 5 minutes away. I am there practically every day as they have declined quite a bit. My dad is 88 and my mom 84 both with health issues. My dad had a recent hospital stay and when he came back home the nurse came by every day to visit him. They are in independent living and they absolutely love it. My mother in law lived here my aunts and uncles lived her and my dads sister lives here now. It's a wonderful place to put your family. My parents moved to an independent living apartment at Covenant Living Windsor Park in 2018. When my dad's health declined in 2021, they moved to assisted living. Four days after my dad passed away in 2023, they helped my mom be completely moved back to an independent living apartment. MY PARENTS WERE MARRIED 70 YEARS AND NEVER HAD TO SPEND ONE DAY APART AT WINDSOR PARK. When my dad transferred to Johnson Center skilled nursing after a hospitalization, my mom could walk there from their apartment, under the same roof. Since my dad has been gone, my mom is still participating in activities with friends she has had since 2018. Socialization and continuity have been key for her well-being. She is moving through the grieving process and building a new way of life as a widow amongst her peers, many of whom have had similar life experiences. rehab is awful. I mean, really bad. the independent living space is very dated, feels cramped. have an issue? too bad... customer service isn't their strong suit. read more

CHOSE ANOTHER REHABILITATION......I'm not sure if what my mom was in is the continued care or what but she went there for her rehabilitation post surgery. We chose this place because of the reviews and how accommodating they said they could be for her wound care. IT WAS ALL FALSE. The nursing care is awful. If you want someone to treat your loved ones like children and scold them then this is your place. Might as well keep them locked up, theyd receive the same amount of care as here. I am beyond dissatisfied with the care. Sure, not all are bad but unfortunately, she didn't get much time with some good nurses. My mother has an ostomy bag and if you leave the bag full for long periods of time the matter (poop) starts to irritate the skin so whether they say they are attentive or not, the proof is in her irritated RAW, RED, skin. I wish i would have known how inattentive they are before sending her there. The facility looks great when you walk in but get to the patient side and your greeted with the smell of urine among other things. Another thing that was unacceptable was how they talked to my mother. Like she was a child who needed to be scolded, some as to even go as far to say " you should say thank you that I'm here changing your bag"....EXCUSE ME, THIS IS YOUR JOB. These people really just show up for the paycheck. Sad but I'm writing this so no one's loved one goes through this. read more

mom is 99 and at Windsor in Hospice.we visit weekly and the lack of attention in care is really awfull. at 2:00 in the afternoon her hearing aids aren't in or if they are they aren't on or out of power. This is after dozens of complaints to staff and administration. Her hands and eyeglasses are filthy and although they continually promise to address these issues they just don't. Administration and staff are polite and make promises but no results. Although they charge hundreds of dollars daily for care And the facility is clean care is not satisfactory We very disappointed with skilled nursing. read more

Very good rehab facility post hospital admission, but tried to charge us $350,000 to enter the assisted living facility. Plus a huge monthly payment, over $10,000 ! What makes them think they can steal Senior's Money like that? So disappointed in the deception of the managing staff. The "Team" was ruthless... so they lost our business! read more

Beware of verbal commitments made by sales staff. They have been known to make commitments to provide certain services then once you move your loved one in, they don't follow through with the commitment and require you to pay outside services for the care. Since I fell for the sales pitch I have heard of others having similar problems. They don't listen very well when you explain what your needs are. They are much more interested in selling you something, whether it's the right thing for you and your family. I expected more from a religious organization. I credit the non-sales staff for being very caring. read more

My mom just moved to Windsor and loves it! She was apprehensive to make the move, but in less than 24 hours said, "Don't move me!" The staff has gone above and beyond to make this transition easy for her. There are plenty of activities and we have a peace in knowing that there are levels of care available to her if needed. read more

My father-in-law was in the rehab facility here for 6 weeks after he dislocated his hip. Due to Covid visitation was limited so we were dependent on the reports from the therapists. The therapists told us that he was walking 40 feet with a walker and another told us 20 feet with the help of a walker. They even said that he was using the restroom. We were told that he could sit up by himself and stand for a while. When he came home, he was unable to stand, walk, use the restroom and even his mental abilities declined. Due to the therapist reports, we were very hopeful that he would once again be able to walk, do puzzles, be more self sufficient and enjoy his time left. This facility did nothing for him. It makes us wonder what really went on during his stay or did they just bill Medicare for services that were not rendered. We would NEVER recommend this place. I would say RUN away from this facility. read more

Windsor Park has been a life saver for our family. My mother lives in independent living and couldn't be happier. They referred us to a moving and packing company that was great. Everything was thoroughly explained to us and I didn't feel pressure or that someone was just trying to make a sale. She has made a new set of friends. She goes to activities daily. She is busier than ever. Her first 6 months at Windsor were pretty tough as she transitioned to a new place being elderly. The staff was very helpful and called me a few times expressing concerns to let me know my mom was stressed out. I had not anticipated how difficult the change would be for her because she needed to develop new routines. Fast forward to today and she loves it and things are going really well. The staff kept telling me that it is not uncommon for their residents to have a transition period and they were right. Second, my mother in law spent 75 days in the skilled nursing area. She received outstanding care. I have not met a nicer and more comforting group of nurses, doctors and medical staff. It truly is a special group of people that work at Windsor. read more

My parents had previously been at an Assisted Living Facility before moving to Covenant Living at Windsor Park. My Mom ended up in the hospital, and we quickly realized that she would need more help than Assisted Living could give her. It took me months to pick the perfect Assisted Living place for them, and here I was being given only a week to find the perfect Skilled Nursing Facility. To say I was overwhelmed, would be an understatement! On top of that, we needed to find a place for my Dad to live, and we really didn't want them to be far apart from each other. A friend of mine had told me about Covenant Living and highly recommended it to me. When we went there for a tour, I was feeling very overwhelmed and discouraged because of the previous places we had toured, but our sales person, Kim Hamburg, immediately put me at ease. She is truly the best, and went above and beyond in helping us with everything, and I mean EVERYTHING!!! She helped us pick the perfect apartment for my Dad, and helped guide us in getting my Mom into Johnson Healthcare (which is also part of Covenant Living). I had so much on my plate, and she did everything she possibly could to make things easier for me. We were truly blown away at just how nice everything was and more importantly, how nice everyone was!!!!! Everybody was so welcoming to my parents, and they quickly felt like a part of the community. While my parents are in two different places, they are under one roof, and can still enjoy eating together in the Grill or Dining Room, and can do activities together. It is truly the best setup for the situation! Johnson Healthcare has been amazing at taking the best of care of my Mom, and my Dad is thriving in Independent Living! Worked here as a prn aide in assisted living, and I worked my share of nursing homes and different care levels... "Assisted living" wasn't assisted it was more long term care when you voiced your concerns to the supervisors all they did was say mentally they're ok to be here !!! It didn't matter that the person was dead weight and we couldn't lift them or use a sit to stand nope!! As long as they were alert and orientated That's all that mattered when staff finally couldn't pick up several residents and after a few injuries the D.O.N. Sent her staff up to AL to see if they really needed long term care and when the resident complained about the rehab nurse being rough she just brushed it off... MANAGEMENT DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR WORKERS! I ended up being pregnant and on light duty by my doctor I was told by my supervisor "in assisted living you HAVE to do the full load" which meant lifting people my restrictions were not even a gallon of milk... Management is just awful there. The place is clean and the residents sweet as ever CNA and nurses are great but it's sad to see such a good place being run by such awful people who don't care for their employees and then wonder why everyone is leaving... read more
