European Tan has the worst customer service I've encountered. After being promised a 10-day unlimited sun bed trial for $25, I arrived to find no account set up and staff unaware of the offer. The manager, Bella, provided a 7-day free trial and said CEO/President at European Tanning Inc, George Papadapolis would follow up. After reviewing my original call, George agreed to honor the 10-day trial by adding 3 luxury bed sessions to my account. However, on my next visit, only the 3 sessions appeared. When I contacted George, he had removed the 7-day trial, ignored our agreement, and insisted the 3 sessions for $25 was a great deal. When I followed up again, he canceled the remaining sessions (I have yet to see a refund or refund email) and told me to pay full price. At the very least, the 7-day trial should still be honored. Until European Tan improves its customer service and ensures consistency in its offers, I wouldn't recommend going there. read more

I'm a redhead-with very fair skin-so tanning is not something I do regularly (or ever, really!) Any amount of sun and I fry, burn and freckle. I've struggled with it my entire life and have always envied girls with beautiful tan skin-they always have such a healthy glow. Occasionally over the past 15 years or so, I've attempted the "spray-on" tan (AKA The Donald) and have never been happy with the results. I either come out looking orange, blotchy or there's hardly a noticeable difference. And I always smell chemically for a day or two. But I thought I'd give it a try...again. I was assured by the nice girl at the front desk that the products have evolved over the years and are much better than they were before. Because of the blue undertone that they use, she promised that I wouldn't turn presidential orange. After getting a tour of the rest of the salon's tanning beds, she directed me to the room and booth where I would be sprayed. It looked the same as I remember from previous attempts at other locations; tall shower-like booth where you stand inside holding strange positions while your pale skin is misted with the glowing substance. The entire time I'm standing in there, I'm nervous that someone will walk in on me. Even though I'm sure I locked the door. The end result was not orange, happily, but also not really noticeably different. I did carry the strong eau-de-spraytan for a few days but not a strong difference in skin color. I had opted for the milder of the options, not wanting to be too drastic, so I'll assume I should have gone darker. I'm going to give it another shot-this time with the next level up-to see if it looks a little more noticeable. But overall, I'm still not sold on the spray-tan idea. My husband and I went there to get a fast base tan for a trip we going on. We bought lotions and 5 passes each, for the Quick tan, spending over $400 just to get a base tan. I simply wanted to use my spray tan in the evening, rather than in the morning with the bed tan. Not even an option. I could've used them consecutively, one after another, but not separate??? They said the FDA has regulated that you have to tan 24 hours apart. Got it. But then I was told the FDA also regulates your spray tan as well??? Looked it up, and the FDA does not regulate anything except the ingredients, in the spray tan. Rachel, was wonderful at the front desk. Alisa, the manager, on the other hand was very poor at explaining anything about their "store policies", such as this one. We will finish out our $400, 5 pass sessions and will take our business to one that's more credible. read more

People were nice but not straightforward about the coupons. I got a really disappointing spray tan (barely gave me any color). I insisted that I want a really dark tan, and they insisted I only do the level two. And I wasn't informed that to go a level higher, it costs more. It's just frustrating. I was hoping I could rely on them to get them prepped for my trip, and honestly, I should have just used my tanning foams that I use at home. They work so much better and are way cheaper. read more

I have been a client of European Tan in a Draper for several YEARS, my experiences have been average nothing exceptional but simple. Several times I forgot my eyewear and I could tan only if I purchased pricey eyewear they offer no other options but that was my own fault. Recently I spent two months trying to cancel I was given a run around with the process then assured how much easier it would be to just place the account on hold, it would be easy and I didn't need to come in, only to find out it didn't work out because it had to be done 10 days before. This is after several visits to the salon where I was physically present and with plenty of time to spare. WOW charged a full month yet again. I wanted to support this company through the pandemic and didn't think I should cancel in March, wishing I would have. I'm so angry at the poor handling of so many situations which have included broken beds and EXTREMELY pushy up-selling, coming in to tan only to be told they were closing without considering I only wanted to tan for ten minutes and it was 15 minutes until closing. Had issues with cards on file that expired with zero notification. I was never compensated and never once did management contact me when I asked. Don't waste your time here they aren't loyal to long term customers, very one sided relationship. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Just based on the horrible way the owner treated me. Horrific costumer service. Ask inappropriate questions about my medical history and would not work with me with my membership I am unable to use due to medical problems. He was disrespectful..I used to drive out of my way to go here because I loved the ladies that worked there, there is nothing special about the salon. I went truly because of the nice girls there. The owner is male and so so disrespectful and rude. I would not recommend going here. Because at some point I'm sure you will deal with him and he is terrible!!!!! read more

NEVER do business with this company! I tried to cancel my membership and the slick sales girl talked me into just pausing my membership. This is a tactic used because they bank on you forgetting that you just paused your membership. I had given them a card that had a balance, but I didn't use much. So I got charged monthly for several months without noticing. Once I noticed, I tried to get them to work with me, but they only offered me a bottle of lotion, when they had gotten $100's of dollars from me and I didn't use their service one single time! Love this place! I only use the spray tan but it's great! I have friends that spray tan other places and hey always look orange. I've never felt that way about this place. My tan always looks bronze! I have been a long time customer for 3+ years and haven't taken a lot of time for myself in the past few years today I decided I would get a tanning pass. As i went to pay they wouldn't accept my card to draft the monthly fee from because it is a prepaid/ reload able. I also offered her a account and routing number if she wanted but that was a no as well. Never have I had a problem paying with it or having things debited off of it. The only explanation I got was last time I used one I got my "ass reemed"! The choice of words the young lady used didn't offend me, but the fact that my card which things debit off all the time was refused for no reason and no good explanation is the problem! As I was waiting for the person I went with I called three other tanning salons in sandy/draper area and asked them if I wanted to get a membership if they would accept my prepaid card, every single one said yes ma'am that is not a problem at all. I will not be returning here because of this as I told her before I left. I am so disappointed!! read more
