My last…read morevisit I wanted to do a full bikini and it was brought to my attention that the labia hair is not removed after my appointment. I felt uncomfortable and called to request a clean up. They told me moving forward if I want all hair removed from the front they will charge me for a brazilian ($65) which in my opinion is "cutting corners" with pricing and service. Reason being is that I do NOT want a butt strip. At European Wax Center they only charge me ($56) for a FULL bikini up to my standards. I also came by today wanting to purchase their "clarifying" spray because I do enjoy their line of products. The front desk lady had no interest on helping me look for the product and I walked out without my purchase I wanted. I'am disappointed with the company and will no longer be giving my business here. Based on reviews I decided to book with Grace; best decision ever. She has a calming & humble spirit about her that puts you at ease in such an awkward & vulnerable position. She was able to hold casual chat during the process, which takes your mind off the pain. She was very thorough, the process went by quickly, and yet I didn't feel rushed. Fast forward to after the COVID-19 pandemic has slowed down, Serene has taken many measures like requiring face masks, checking temperatures, and even having us wait in our cars, so that we are in contact with as little people as possible. Going on a beach vacation. I made the appointment off of her website which forces you to use Booksy. I downloaded the app, made the appointment. Then it was confirmed back. I showed up at 4 pm at the salon. I called and called and the door is locked. No one. I get a text back saying I should not have used the website and should have called her directly. Well clearly she doesn't pick up all the time. Not picking up once now either. She said she was busy running errands than said she was at the doctors. She texted me saying sorry for the inconvenience and that I should only text her and call, not use website. Now how is a new client supposed to know not to use that site? She then said she checked her appointment this morning and nothing showed up so she was free. That's fine. Most other salons do as well. You have to prepare to go to a wax salon. Shower and clean up and it takes time. Which for me, means taking half a day off when you work downtown. Well she is making it seem like I should have known not to use the appointment website. This was my first experience and my last. She may be good at waxing, but she is not the only one. I prefer to have my time respected especially since I'm paying. I have never gone to another salon for wax but I have heard of another Brazilian salon called Mica's Salon. I told her I will try that one and she sent me another text. She is great at doing any hair types including curly or ethnic hair (like mine). She also has "good hands" so you'll notice your hair grows longer, thicker and shinier once you start seeing her. My, I am nothing about her look was professional she had on a hoodie the entire time definitely kind of sketchy. Also, she didn't make any conversation. All she did was ask me to put my legs up and if I can open them more. I am from a place where service providers often do run late and the payer is expected to still have a pleasant attitude which I did not experience. Definitely would not recommend the vibe is definitely not there, and I will not be back for sure. Also, may I add anybody may be 10 minutes late because most people are probably looking for a storefront but it's not it's in a salon suite. Might I add, also at the quality of these products are nothing special their basic things you can buy inside of a Walmart or a beauty supply store with no aesthetician license. and the after post wax things that she use are not pH balance for the bikini area.
